“Deadpool” movie breaks box office records with $135 million… not surprising though!

“Deadpool” really was an excellent film. Before I saw the movie, I never knew much about the character ’cause I’ve never read a single Deadpool comic in my life. After seeing this movie makes me want to read more “Deadpool” comics ’cause the character is interesting to say the least. I think he’s one of the best Marvel superheroes. The character is awesome and Ryan Reynolds was perfect to play him. I can’t see anyone else playing that character but him. If you haven’t seen the movie yet, what are you waiting for? Go see it now. Even if you’re not a fan of sueprhero movies much, I think you would still enjoy the film. I’m definitely buying the Blu-Ray when it comes out.

Flashback song: Salt N’ Pepa, “Shoop” (as heard in the rolling credits of “Deadpool” film)

In the 90’s, I was a kid in high school then and I used to listen to Salt N’ Pepa a lot. Back in the day, wow. I used to love Salt N’ Pepa and still do! They were a great rap group. I love them a lot more than TLC.

The Salt N’ Pepa girls used to be my crushes! Really I used to listen to their albums all the time when I was a kid. Used to have their CD’s but got rid of them as I got older. The Deadpool movie makes me enjoy Salt N’ Pepa music again.

I wish Salt N’ Pepa would reunite for a new album. I know the three ladies are aging now but they already reunited a couple of times over the years. Would like to hear new music from them as I believe they can still do it!

Film Review: Dead Pool

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Gina Carano

Directed by: Tim Miller

So today, I’ve just seen the new “Deadpool” movie. Here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: This is the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

I have to hand it to the film makers of this movie. This was a pretty ballsy movie to make due to it’s content. Most Marvel movies over the years were pretty family friendly. They’ve made movies that were aimed toward children since Marvel is now owned by Disney and all. Disney allowing Marvel to make an R rated superhero movie? Yes… I know there have been plenty of other R rated superhero movies and this wasn’t the first R rated Marvel movie either. Another Marvel movie that has an R rating was “The Punisher” with Thomas Jane in 2004 but that movie was before Disney bought Marvel, though. I believe “Deadpool” is the first R rated superhero movie by Marvel under Disney ownership. I’m pretty sure Marvel battled Disney over this privately ’cause Disney was probably against this movie due to it’s adult content since Disney is family friendly so it is quite a surprise that Marvel would make a movie like this.

I thought “Deadpool” was amazing. It’s definitely the best Marvel film and it’s a true comic book movie. This movie is strictly for adults. It’s definitely not a movie for children at all. You want a superhero movie full of sex, nudity, violence and blood? You’re gonna get all that in “Deadpool”. There’s a variety of genres in “Deadpool”. It’s not just an action movie, it’s also a romance movie and a comedy.

I thought the film was well made and well written. Well acted by the cast too. Of course, the action scenes were a blast to watch as well. This movie is also a revenge movie.

To hell with “50 Shades of Grey”. “50 Shades” is a romance movie for women. “Deadpool” is a romance movie for guys. “Deadpool” is definitely not a chick flick that’s for sure. It’s a guy flick. When you go see “Deadpool”, you’ll see mostly men in the audience. This is Ryan Reynolds best superhero role too. I didn’t like his role in the “Green Lantern” and finally Ryan found a superhero that fits him. “Deadpool” is where Ryan Reynolds belong. Go see, “Deadpool” asap.

Score for “Deadpool”. 5 out of 5 as in “excellent”.
