Film Review: “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”…

Starring: Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley, and Anna Poplewell

Directed by: Andrew Adamson

Yep, I just got back from seeing the movie “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” the second of the 7 series of novels made into a film. The original title to the book is “Prince Caspian: The Return To Narnia” of course, they had to change it for the film version.

The second movie focuses on the story where the Pevensie kids from the first one (played by the same cast from the first), return to Narnia again by accident while the kids were waiting for a subway train to come by. An evil King named King Miraz is the new main villain for this sequel who is played by actor Sergio Castellitto. While the Pevensie’s were gone from Narnia for over a 100 years, King Miraz has taken over Narnia, the Pevensie’s must find ways to battle King Miraz and his army out of Narnia so the Narnia people can be safe. So the Pevensie kids got help with Prince Caspian. Prince Caspian and the Pevensie kids worked together to get their own army to fight off Miraz. Does Aslan the lion (who is voiced by Liam Neeson by the way) return to help the Pevenzie’s and Prince Caspian out? You will have to watch the film and find out.

As far as my thoughts on the film goes, I was in complete awe throughout the entire film. I was speechless. Amazing cinematography, and once again the film blew me the hell away. Amazing musical score, the acting is once again great. The film is violent, and pretty much action packed. The film is a lot darker than the last one. The film has some of the most baddest sword fighting I’ve seen in any fantasy film ever. The film was “amazing” and I would say that “Prince Caspian” is the best film of the year so far!!!

There are seven novels for the Chronicles of Narnia series written by C.S. Lewis. Since they already done “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” and “Prince Caspian”, they now have to make the other ones into films in the future. The ones they have to do left are: “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” (which would be Narnia 3), “The Silver Chair”, “The Horse and His Boy”, “The Magician’s Nephew”, and “The Last Battle”. The question is, will Disney make movies of all 7 Narnia books? They probably will I would imagine. If Harry Potter can do it, why can’t Narnia? Will the same cast who played the Pevensie children play in the rest of them? Yes definitely. Because the last couple of “Narnia” books, the Pevensie kids are adults then so Disney will probably want to keep the cast for the rest of the films so they can grow older as the films go along.

I love the “Narnia” series a lot more than “Lord of the Rings” or “Harry Potter”. I love the story telling in “Narnia”, I’m just fascinated by the great characters C.S. Lewis created. I would reccomend you all to go see “Prince Caspian”, such a beautiful film, I loved every minute of it and didn’t fall asleep at all.

Score for “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” = **** (4 stars as in excellent)

BREAKING NEWS: “Prince Caspian” beats the hell out of “Iron Man” in box office match…

The new “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” topped “Iron Man” just like I predicted. “Prince Caspian” started off pretty quietly and not making a lot of money Friday but picked up pretty quickly over the weekend. “Prince Caspian” beat down “Iron man” in world records.

The Associated Press reports:

I’ll be seeing “Prince Caspian” tomorrow afternoon on my day off of work. I can’t wait to see it.

I just love the first movie “The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe”, such a beautiful and perfect movie. I watched “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” on DVD last week and the film still amazes me. I think the Chronicles of Narnia series is the best live action movie Disney made by far. And I’m sure I’m gonna love “Prince Caspian”. “Prince Caspian” got a PG rating and it’s very rare that Disney movies get that kind of rating because of all the violence in the film. I hear it’s a very violent film. I’m really looking forward to seeing “Prince Caspian”.

Thought: May will be a big competition for movies…

So, three huge films are coming out all in one month in May. “Iron Man, “Indiana Jones 4”, and “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”. I plan on seeing all three next month. At first I wasn’t interested in “Iron Man” but the more photos and trailers I’ve seen of the film, I now think it’s going to be one of the best superhero films made in a long time.

Indy 4 I’ve been dying to see ever since it was first announced. I’m such a huge Indy nut. I actually watched “Raiders of the Lost Ark” on DVD a couple of days ago and the movie still amazes me, you learn something new everytime you watch that film. I’ve seen “Raiders” over a hundred times that I’ll never get tired of that film. I plan on watching “Temple of Doom” and “The Last Crusade” this weekend.

But in Indy 4, I really think we’re definitely going to see the return of the Ark. In the previews and the pictures, we see Indy trying to fight for a boxed crate in a warehouse against the Russians. Which I’ll imagine the Ark of Covenant is inside of it. Indy 4 shall be a great film and I’m looking forward to it. Indy 4 definitely will not top “Raiders” but it will be a fun movie.

“Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian”, I love the Chronicles of Narnia books by C.S. Lewis so much, I’ve read them all when I was a kid. The animated movies of these stories weren’t that great, the low budget UK versions are shit too. It is about time a live action US movie is made off these books. “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” is such a mind blowing film, it’s a beautiful film and it’s definitely one of my top films ever made, and “Prince Caspian” looks amazing too.

We all know these three films will make big money breaking records, which one will make the most money out of all three of them?

I am predicting “Indy 4”. “Indy 4” will steal the record out of all three. I’m sure when May 22nd comes, we’ll be seeing the lines of the movie theaters going out all the way past the food courts in the malls. This is why I plan on seeing these movies in the afternoon so I don’t have to deal with long lines in the evening hours.

But I’m really am looking forward to these three films. I haven’t been to the theaters to see a new film for a while ’cause there hasn’t been anything good playing the last couple of months, The last movie I saw in theater was “Vantage Point” I think, that was a while back. And of course, I will review “Iron Man”, “Indy 4” and “Prince Caspian” in this blog. Can’t wait to see ’em.
