Report: The Police to play their final show in NYC after their tour is done…

Sting, Andy Summers and Stu Copeland will play their final and last show as the Police in NYC where the band started out 30 years ago. The Police has made a lot of history in New York City as they played a lot of shows when they were just starting out as a band. Their first number of gigs were at no where other than the legendary CBGB’s where the band was made famous. The band started in NYC and they want to end their career in NYC. They didn’t announce a date for the NYC concert just yet.

Their NYC concert will benefit the city’s local public TV stations. They will also work with Mayor Bloomberg for MillionTreesNYC.

From the Police official website:

It’s too bad that the CBGB’s closed down before their final show, I’m sure the band would have loved to have their final gig at the same venue where they started.

I’m not a fan of the Police anymore, I used to be. But Sting’s singing is too good and profesional that he doesn’t sing like he used to in the Police back in the old days. That’s why I think the Police reunion is crap.

The Police will make a stop at SPAC in Saratoga Springs to open for Elvis Costello this summer, I’m not sure if I’ll go to that or not. Probably not, I don’t go to famous national concerts anymore.

  1. Is that Tim Gunn on the left? Boy, those two ginger bookends around Sting (and his fabulicious arms) need to get themselves a good doctor to prescribe some propionate.
What in the name of Rip Taylor & all that’s holy happens to these old British rocker boys?
Keep up the great work on the blog, Mr.Man!
