Bo Diddley, a legendary rock pioneer is known as a powerful and unique guitar player, he has also played custom made electric guitars with a unique rectangle shape such as the one you see above. He is one of the founding fathers of rock n’ roll music. He died today after battling months of ill health after a heart failure, he was 79. He died at his home in Archer, Florida.

  1. thanks for that stirring tributes to the great B.D.
I hope he is jamming out with all the great guitarists right now who died, too. Jimi Hendrix, Andre Segovia, that dead guy from Metallica… Nice!
i always liked that square guitar. hopefully Guitar wOrld will put some cool tabulature of some sweet B.D. tunage next month so I can learn them songs! Nice!

  3. Bo Diddley used to drink this whiskey called Rock and Rye. It had an apple core at the bottom of the bottle, much like the worm in Tequia or the gerbil in Richard Gere. Anyways, when he used to travel by coach, he’d put his guitar in the bunk and he’d sleep in the seat.

  4. One more thing, he got ripped off bigtime. He once said, “A dude with a pencil is worse than a cat with a machine gun.”
