Report: Slash on Guns N’ Roses “Chinese Democracy” leaker, “I hope he rots in jail”…

Although Slash is no longer in the band Guns N’ Roses and never played guitar on the album “Chinese Democracy”, it seems as though Slash still has respect for Axl Rose and the new GN’R album too. The former GN’R man commented on the Chinese Democracy leaker Kevin Cogill saying that Slash hopes he rots in jail and goes on saying what Kevin did is going to hurt the music industry and the new album’s sales.

Kevin Cogill was arrested for leaking 9 tracks from “Chinese Democracy” to his blog and quickly spreaded across the internet. He was arrested by the FBI.

If you all look on the back of major label albums, there is an FBI Anti-Piracy warning on the back of each one. Piracy is illegal. The FBI has the right to arrest those for piracy or fine them which ever one is necessary.

So you may ask, why does the kid have to be arrested and not get sued by the RIAA, getting sued is better than being arrested? The truth is, it is not the RIAA’s responsibility to sue those who leak new albums early. All the RIAA does is sue those who illegally download music from online software, that’s all they do.

Leaking music early before an album is released without the band/artists permission is a federal law. Axl Rose owns the copyrights to those songs. If you own your own music and if someone steals it, you have the right to force legal action.

Axl Rose is doing the right thing here. I’m on his side on this. I hope the leaker rots in jail too and I hope the FBI punishes him pretty fucking hard. Stealing music from a band/artist is never a cool thing to do.

I copyright all of my own songs and if someone steals my music, I would pretty much do the same thing. Force legal action on the pirate.
