Cool Video: Casey Desmond puts up unique video with a song titled “Tilt Me Back”…

I once said I was going to start promoting unsigned and indie musicians who post videos in youtube into the blog, and here is the first one.

Casey Desmond a musician from Boston, Mass. just uploaded a video titled “Tilt Me Back”, a music video that looks to be high budget production. The video has people wearing strange costumes and lots of weird things going on in this video. The song itself is very nice and good work itself. I dig the melody of the tune and the way the vocals are sung.

I predict this video will get a lot of hits very quickly. This immediately became one of my favorite music videos by an indie musician in youtube. Enjoy this. It’s a way cool music video, I enjoy the unique style in this.

  1. I can not stop listening to that song above, I listened to it at least several times in a row. Amazing tune. I think that’s one of her best songs. I’ll ask her if I can get an mp3 of that tune. Beautiful song. It’s written in perfection.

  3. I would like to, but the only problem is that the song doesn’t have guitar playing in it. The song is played on an accordion and classical instruments throughout most of it, so it will be a bit challenging for me to figure out the chords. Unless, I can e-mail her and ask her for the chords, and who knows, maybe she will write them up for me.

It’s an incredibly written song, when I’m talking about writing songs with powerful emotion and being “tight”, songs that sends chills down your spine, this song Casey Desmond wrote is it, she did it to me with this one. She can now consider me a big fan of her music. I want to see her live sometime.

  4. I have a hint for ya…you don’t need to know chords…follow the bass, nine times out of ten the bass is the root of the chord. In the odd case where it’s not the root of the chord, it’s still one of the three notes in the chord (i.e. the bass player might use C as a root for an Am chord, but since Am only has A, C and E in it, it’s an easy guess.)

I count maybe a total of four chords in this whole song, it’s a piece of cake. The Ramones wrote more complicated tunes.

Without picking my guitar up I would guess that the chords are F – C – Bb. Try it and tell me how it goes.

  6. After playing along with the song on my guitar for a while, the song is in the key of F, you’re exactly right. The song is probably pretty basic.

I want to try covering this song, I think she’ll be flattered although this song was meant for a woman to sing. I will see if she can e-mail me the lyrics too.

  8. I just figured out the opening intro by ear, and the chords you got are correct, the song starts off with F – C – Bb. There’s a few run in bass lines between those chords though and I figured them out too. I gave it like a country picking feel to fit the sound of the accordian.

I’ll try figuring out the rest of the song today, once I figure the song out, I’ll ask her if she can shoot me the lyrics.

  10. The song is pretty much F – C – Bb throughout the entire song, another one of them simple three chorders.

  12. Ah I knew it! I don’t know too much about accordions since I haven’t had one in my hands in a long time, but if I remember from when I played around with one there were only so many chords on it, and oddly enough they were all Polish chords. You know, like you would make Polka music with. It’s said that the world’s greatest accordionist was Myron Floren of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra:

  14. Casey just posted the lyrics to that song by the side of her video there by my request.

I’ve started playing and singing the song tonight.

I’m gonna give the song a folky/country like Dylanish type of vibe. Once I mastered the vocals to the song I will record myself on video performing it. May be a while to come.
