Cool Video: “Star Trek” premieres in Austin, Texas with film introduced by Leonard Nimoy!!!

JJ Abrams “Star Trek” may have premiered in Sydney, Australia, but Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock, already brought the film to Austin, Texas, before they did!!! How cool is that!!!

In Austin, Texas, at the Alamo Drafthouse, it was advertised that they were going to show the film “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” in it’s entirety with 10 minutes of Abrams “Star Trek” before it.

In these videos, three men introducing “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”…as the movie starts, the movie stopped somewhere during the film, making it look like it had technical problems. Then all of a sudden Leonard Nimoy, the man himself walks on stage and giving the audience a huge surprise, that they are going to show the new “Star Trek” movie in it’s entirety instead.

Man, if I was there attending that event, I would have been floored. Watch these videos for this amazing moment. Oh my!

  1. I can’t wait for this amazing movie. Thank you for the Spock surprise videos!
Khan was one of the best ever and I think this new one will be great.

This isn’t a diss, it’s just an honest observation anyone with a brain would agree with: that guy in the Hawaiian shirt who comes out @ 1:50 looks like a cross between Rocky Dennis from ‘Mask’ and Brother T! Come to think of it…oh never mind- I dont want to be mean to Rocky Dennis! lol

I saw a clip of Sly slipping and falling during the filming of The Expendables. It was on TMZ. He didnt get hurt though. Thanks for all the cool updates.

Think any cool bands will be on the soundtrack. I’ve never heard what kind of music Sly is into. Maybe old Elvis or Little Richard because of that Lords Of Flatbush movie he did with Fonzie.
I’d like to see some NewWaveOfBritishHeavyMetal “nwobhm” of course but I dont think it would fit unfortunately!
Kepp the great blog stories and opinions coming.

  3. Oh yeah, and the fat guy in the Hawaiian t-shirt with the long red hair, that guy is no one other than Harry Knowles, the owner of “Ain’t It Cool”. Harry reviewed it at his website and talked about that moment.
