Thought: It is a good thing that Bert & Ernie aren’t closet homosexuals…

Well, Sesame Street confirmed the rumors that Bert & Ernie are not gay, and they don’t plan on turning them gay anytime soon.

Read what the makers of Sesame Street have to say about it, here.

I think it’s a stupid and silly idea to marry them anyway. Think about how it’s going to influence pre-school children to go gay when they get older. I think someone who came up with that petition is a stupid idiot, in my opinion.

  1. This is a pretty disappointing and disgusting post from you, Kev. I’ve got to say you let me down. Influence children to ‘go gay?’ Are you serious? Being gay is not a choice someone makes – it’s they way they are made and no one can just decide to ‘go straight’ or ‘go gay.’ There’s also nothing wrong with it. As someone who has mentioned often that he gets picked on because of the way HE was made, I would assume you’d have a little more sympathy.

Is the Bert and Ernie thing stupid? Maybe. They’re just puppets and puppets obviously don’t have sexual preferences. But it sure would be nice to have another positive gay role model out there so kids know that what they’re feeling isn’t wrong or shameful. Shame on you Brock Man.

    1. Children are way too young to learn about homosexuality and gay marriage, and all that. If Sesame Street actually did this, it’s going to teach children how to become gay when they really should be learning the alphabet and other pre-school things. That’s what Sesame Street should be about. They shouldn’t bring homosexuality into the show, it’s BAD for children, in my opinion.

And yes, I believe it is a choice to become gay or straight. I think it’s a crock of shit that people are born gay. I’ve known gay people who turned straight because they didn’t like that lifestyle anymore.

      1. I don’t hate homosexuality, I don’t hate gay people. I respect ’em, but the point I’m trying to make is that if Sesame Street brings in homosexuality to the show, it’s going to inspire children to experiment with homosexuality. Peer pressure. They’re going to experiment with gay sex and all that. That’s why it’s a bad idea to do this. Seriously, think about it. It would be a huge mistake for Sesame Street to promote homosexuality to young children. They’re too young for that.
