Will the plot for the next Star Wars movie continue after “Return of the Jedi”? I think it should! It should continue the story of Luke Skywalker. Since there will be no more Vader and Master Palpatine, they’re gonna have to create a new Star Wars villain which I’m sure they’ll be able to do easily. Maybe there should be a new young character aspiring to be a Jedi, and Luke can be his mentor/trainer. Honestly, they shouldn’t go for that direction, ’cause the plot “Training young jedi’s” have been done for the past 6 films. Time for something new and fresh. They could have a new plot where Luke, continue on for new adventures. Of course, the original cast should return like Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Billy Dee Williams (Lando), etc. I’m sure we’ll see the return of Chewbacca, C3pO, R2D2, and all other lovable characters we know. I’m sure they’ll create a bunch of new characters.
If they can get Mark Hammil back for Luke Skywalker in the leading role again, that would be freakin’ amazing. I doubt the original Star Wars gang will come back ’cause they’re getting old but you never know though! Never say never! If none of them wants to come back, then there should be more prequels. Like do prequels set between, “Revenge of the Sith” and “A New Hope”, like they did with the “Force Unleashed” video games. If they can make live action movies based on the “Force Unleashed” video games, that would be sweet ’cause those games are great, and I can see those being made into films.
2015, is still far away yet, they need to hire writers, and directors before they start casting. It’s a long road to make a movie, they have to start off small and build their way up.
I’ll give Disney owning Lucasfilm a chance, ’cause it is a great opportunity to make Star Wars and Indy much better films if you think about it! Keep in mind that Lucasfilm, also owns, “Willow”, and I can see Disney bringing back, Willow Ufgood to the big screen again. Warwick Davis has repeatedly said in interviews, that he’s willing to play that character again.
Anyway, back to Star Wars, it’ll be interesting to see what they’re going to do with the plot and characters of “Star Wars 7”. I’m interested.

Star Wars 7-9 will most likely take place picking up where Jedi left off.
I was 10 or 11 when the first Star Wars (IV) movie came out. I was a huge Star Wars nerd for a while.
From the beginning, Lucas has always maintained there would be three trilogies. And his plan was always to tell the middle part of the story first (4-6), then tell the beginning story (1-3) and finally the post Empire/later story (7-9).
I’d be willing to put money that Disney will stick with the plan.
Now…if I just had all those original toys still…damn, I’d be a rich man.
I do still have a couple things though. I have all the original series of Star Wars trading cards from the first three movies-Ep. 4-6, and the first 10 Star wars comic books. Numbers 1-10, first printings from 1977 or 78…whenever they came out.
Luke & Leia and the rest of the original gang will probably come back then. Except for Darth Vader and Palpatine obviously. The cast maybe getting old, but maybe George waited this long for a reason? Maybe he’s got an idea that a storyline would work with them aging?
But man, it’ll be cool to see the Millennium Falcon again, that’s for sure. Maybe Han Solo gave it up and sold it to, Luke.
Kev
I wouldn’t exactly rule out Vader. Him, the Emperor…had an obsession with finding a way to come back after death. And it is possible with the Force, as Obi Wan has proved. So ya never know.
And I don’t think aging stars would be an issue really. Hollywood makeup crews are freaking amazing.
You’re right. Of course, Carrie Fisher isn’t what she used to be. She used to be smoking hot and sexy back in her younger years, but now she’s different and she put on a little weight.
I’m sure the original actors will be able to play their characters just fine though. I’m sure Harrison is still capable of doing action scenes as Han Solo.
Kev
Speaking of Harrison Ford, he hasn’t responded yet to the Disney/Lucasfilm merging, I’m sure he will soon. I’m interested in hearing his thoughts about it.
Kev
I guess, you don’t rule out a Vader and Palpatine return then, ’cause after all it’s science fiction. They’ll find a way to bring Vader back easily, hopefully James Earl Jones will be willing to do voice overs for him, again.
Kev
It’d be great if they either adapted or brought in bits and pieces of Timothy Zahn’s post-JEDI books that featured Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Also, Lucas’ approach to questions about the sequel trilogy strikes me as funny. I remember when JEDI came out, there was indeed talk of the prequel and sequel trilogies. Then the prequel movies came out…most of the world hated them…and then, when asked about the sequels again, he suddenly says, “No…the whole story is Anakin’s fall and and redemption.” He made it sound like there were NEVER any plans for sequels, but in reality the reason he lost interest was because the prequels got such poor reception.
Could be true, Steve, but I think the real reason why he lost interest in doing Star Wars ’cause he’s a helluva rich man. He’s made so much money from his earlier career, so he doesn’t need to work if he wants to. I can’t blame him for hanging it up. He’s been doing Star Wars for pretty much most of his life. He wants to move on.
Kev
Well, that’s the thing about people who have earned a lot of money: they are always looking for a way to make MORE money…so you would think he’d stick to these films. No matter how bad they are, they ALWAYS rake in a ton at the box office.
