Spielberg no longer directing Indy 5 but what’s the real reason???

In my opinion, this is bad and I think Steve is making a huge mistake. I remember that Spielberg, Lucas and Ford has been talking about doing Indy 5 ever since the 4th one, “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”… but since Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney this means Disney owns Lucasfilm now. Therefor, it also means that Disney owns the Indy franchise.

There could be many reasons why Spielberg is no longer interested… maybe the script having problems still and he isn’t 100% with it yet… either that or he doesn’t feel comfortable without George being around ’cause George was in charge of the story for the first 4 films. It could be any reason. Maybe he feels he doesn’t have what it takes to direct an Indy film anymore.

Steven Spielberg Won’t Direct ‘Indiana Jones 5,’ James Mangold in Talks to Replace (EXCLUSIVE)

Anyhow, I think Indy 5 is gonna flop in the box office pretty badly now that Spielberg is out. In my opinion, no other director but Spielberg directs the Indy movies. Replacing a director for the Indy films is a joke really. Indy is Spielberg’s baby.

A different director takes over, there’s gonna be a different style and no other director will be able to match Spielberg’s style of directing ’cause every director is different.

And also, they better make this movie soon ’cause the longer they wait, the older Harrison gets ’cause that man is getting older. I know these guys want to take their time with the script but Harrison’s age… he’s 77 now.

I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan… love them all even the 4th one “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” but “Raiders of the Lost Ark” will always be the best one of the series. “Raiders” is a classic and an essential.

I hope Indy 5 will be good and it’ll probably end up being a passing of the torch kind of story. I hope they don’t do the “sci-fi” thing next time, though.

Thoughts on the new “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” D23 footage…

This isn’t an official 2nd teaser trailer. It’s just a special look that was shown at the D23 event. I would have to say that this footage was beautifully put together. Only JJ Abrams can put together a tiny video that compiles all 9 Star Wars films. This video footage even included the three prequels which was awesome.

In the past, I used to never be that much of a Star Wars fan but Disney is making me appreciate Star Wars more and more. I guess I’m turning into a pretty big Star Wars nerd myself ’cause I’ve just started re-watching the first 8 Star Wars movies this week. I’ve watched “The Phantom Menace” and “Attack Of the Clones” over the weekend and they weren’t bad movies at all. They were pretty good, I must say. I haven’t seen those movies in a long time and they really grew on me after re-watching them. I’m planning on watching Episode III “Revenge of the Sith” this week and am going to re-watch the original trilogy this weekend. Then next week will be episodes 7 & 8.

Some of you may ask, why am I re-watching the Star Wars movies all over again? Well, for one, I need  a memory refresher of the story. I’m re-watching the Star Wars series in order from 1 – 8 and then I’ll watch Episode 9 when December comes. Plus, like I said Disney is making me appreciate Star Wars more and more so I’m re-watching to help celebrate and have fun. Another reason is that Star Trek doesn’t make good movies anymore so that could be another reason why I’ve been getting into Star Wars more.

Star Wars is a great series and I can finally now see why it’s a huge franchise and why it’s a big deal.  I think Disney is doing an amazing job with the new movies. I loved “The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi” and don’t understand all the hate. I also love the spinoff movies too: “Rogue One” and the Han Solo movie. All really good shit.

As far as the new footage from “Rise of Skywalker” goes, seeing all that makes me stoked for Episode 9 even more. It’s looking like that Rey turns to the Dark Side and C3PO turns to the darkside as well it looks like. I’m sure an evil C3PO is making fans go crazy and they don’t want it to happen probably but I think an evil 3PO is an interesting concept. Does C3PO join Palpatine? Or Palpatine repograms 3PO so he can be evil.

Another question is how is Luke Skywalker gonna return? You know he is going to come back in some form ’cause hence the title, “Rise of Skywalker”. Everybody knows what happened to him in “The Last Jedi” and there’s a pretty good chance Skywalker is coming back ’cause Mark Hamill is still casted in “Rise of Skywalker”. You never know what’s going to happen ’cause this is science fiction and anything can happen in science fiction.

I’m pretty stoked for Episode 9 “Rise of Skywalker” and I will see it in December when it comes out in theaters. I’ll be there for this one for sure. I’m glad they brought Palpatine back and I’m sure Ian McDiarmid is gonna kill it and knock it out of the park with that role once again.

Now that I’ve seen “The Force Awakens” & “Rogue One”, maybe Disney buying Lucasfilm was a good move after all???

At first I was kind of skeptical of Disney buying Lucasfilm. When I first heard the news, I was like, “huh” like everyone else. Now that I’ve seen “The Force Awakens” that takes place after “Return of the Jedi” and seen “Rogue One” which takes place before “Episode IV: A New Hope”, I’m beginning to see that Disney buying Lucasfilm was a good move after all. I pretty much enjoyed both “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” a lot. Disney surprisingly did a great job with both of those movies and I didn’t think they could pull it off. Now I look forward to every new Star Wars movie they do so hopefully they do a great job with the Han Solo standalone film that’s in the works.

In the past, I wasn’t that big on Star Wars. I like Star Wars, don’t get me wrong but I don’t “geek” out on it like a lot of die-hards. I’m more of a Star Trek geek than Star Wars but seeing “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” makes me want to love Star Wars a lot more.

As far as “Rogue One” goes, I thought it was a very impressive film. Loved it a lot! It was good to see the old stormtroopers again. “Rogue One” was definitely one of the best movies of this year.

I know how some Star Wars fans prefer to keep it as the original trilogy but with a story like Star Wars, you can create more stories with that franchise. More sequels, prequels and spinoffs. I wonder if Disney is gonna try to make Star Wars films that will take place between “A New Hope” and “Empire Strikes Back”. I wonder if Disney will try to make films that will take place between “Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”. They probably will. Now that George Lucas has retired from films and has passed the torch to Disney, expect a lot more Star Wars films to come out. Will Boba Fett get his own film? I can see that coming. Will R2-D2 and C-3PO get their own film? Yes. I think Chewbacca getting his own movie might be pretty interesting. There’s all kinds of possibilities.

I’m just so glad that Lucas is no longer in charge of Star Wars and Indiana Jones ’cause like most I too think Lucas is a horrible storyteller and bad film maker. Good riddance. I’m not a big fan of the prequel trilogy either. It turns out that “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” were both very successful films and hope Disney keeps up the good work.

Who’s gonna play the young Han Solo? My bets are gonna be either Chris Pratt or Channing Tatum…

Disney confirmed that Han Solo is getting his own film but it will be a standalone. It will focus on Han Solo’s life growing up. So that means someone will be playing a young Han Solo, the wisecracking smuggler. The film will be directed by the two guys who gave us “The Lego Movie” and the two “21 Jump Street” films.

Who is gonna play the young Han Solo? Like the title says my bets are gonna be on Chris Pratt or Channing Tatum. I wouldn’t be surprised if they get Tatum, though. I hope not ’cause I’m not a big fan of Tatum at all… I would prefer Pratt over Tatum.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/han-solo-star-wars-spinoff-807153

It’ll be interesting to see the history of Han Solo of how he became a smuggler and all that stuff. I’d like to see more insight on his friendship with Lando so a young black actor will have to play Lando for sure. Keep in mind that Han Solo has been dealing with Jaba the Hut for years so Jaba is probably gonna be involved. It’ll show how Han and Chewie met.

Look at Han Solo’s history for more:

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Han_Solo

Will the film use some of that stuff? Han Solo was born on planet Corellia and fell in love with a woman named Bria Tharen so I wonder if Bria Tharen will be a character in the movie? They probably will.

Will Harrison Ford be involved in this film? Probably not ’cause this film will focus on a young Han Solo probably but still there’s a possibility that Harrison could get a small role at the end of the film to explain the character growing up.

This is one spinoff that I’m actually interested in!

Looks like Steven Spielberg wants to direct new “Indiana Jones” movie after all…

Despite George Lucas no longer being involved in the “Indiana Jones” franchise, it seems that Steven Spielberg still wants to be involved directing these films and he wants to direct the reboot. Spielberg is not confirmed yet, he’s just interested and there is no script as of yet.

More here:

http://deadline.com/2015/02/steven-spielberg-direct-chris-pratt-indiana-jones-reboot-1201378113/

Will Harrison still be involved in some form, though? We’ll have to wait and see.

Spielberg has a lot of passion for the Indiana Jones character and you can see that he still does. As long as Spielberg wants to direct, I’m sure he’ll get it. I’ll go see it as long as Spielberg is directing, why not?

Kev

Harrison is 72, y’all, I don’t think he can do his own stunts anymore!!!!

I understand how those are mad that Disney/Lucasfilm are moving on without Harrison Ford as Indy but keep in mind that the man is 72 now. I don’t think he has what it takes to play action scenes anymore. I think Harrison is pretty much done playing action movies. Just about anyways.

When he did “The Expendables 3”, Harrison had some action scenes but there was nothing that involved anything physical. All Harrison did was fly around in a helicopter. He didn’t do any running or punching. I’m sure he won’t do much of his own stunts in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” either ’cause remember he got himself hurt trying to get on the Millennium Falcon. I don’t think you’ll see Harrison do too much physical stuff in Star Wars 7. He’s probably gonna be flying the Falcon for most of the movie anyways, I betcha.

Again, I understand why people are mad that Harrison may not be playing Indy anymore but keep in mind he is 72. It’s about time for him to move on and I’m sure Disney got his blessing anyways.

Soon, I’m sure Harrison will speak out on why he’s not in the new Indy film.

How much do you wanna bet that Harrison said no and turned it down? Maybe his age has nothing to do with turning down Indy. Maybe he felt that he can’t do it without George and Steve, ya know what I mean? It wouldn’t make sense to have Harrison as Indy when Steve is not directing and George is not in charge of the story, ya know? I’d say it’s actually a good idea not to have Harrison in when George and Steve are not involved. We’ll wait to see what Harrison himself says.

Sure, I’m a little disappointed too that Harrison is not gonna be involved it looks like but hey… it’s Hollywood. That’s the way it goes.

Kev

Disney wants Chris Pratt to play Indiana Jones for reboot and I’m actually okay with that!

I’m all for an Indy reboot as long as they keep the stories original and not make them a “remake” of the original series, ya know? I was hoping for an Indy 5 with Harrison still playing Indy but it’s understandable he can’t play the role anymore ’cause of his age, ya know? Harrison is 72 and I can’t seem him running around with a whip trying to fight the Nazis.

I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan… always have been.

Remember, George Lucas sold the rights of Lucasfilm to Disney so this gives Disney the right to make any Lucasfilm based movies all they want to that includes Indy so Steven Spielberg must be okay with Disney doing this too.

http://deadline.com/2015/01/chris-pratt-indiana-jones-guardians-of-the-galaxy-disney-1201360637/

I’m a huge fan of the Indy movies. I love all 4 of ’em (Yes, I thought “Crystal Skull” was great so suck it, haters). Hopefully they do a good job with this too. As long as this won’t be a complete remake of “Raiders”, I’m okay with that.

Who knows though, maybe Harrison will still star in this new film. Maybe Indy (played by Harrison) will pass the whip to a younger archaeologist (Chris Pratt). We’ll wait and see, though.

I don’t see Steven Spielberg directing the next Indy film. Spielberg won’t do it without George being in charge.

Kev

Happy Star Wars day…

While I am a Star Wars fan like a lot of you out there… I am more of a fan of the original trilogy. I love “A New Hope”, “Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”. I love the original editions of those movies when they first came out in theaters. I never cared for all the new versions of the original trilogy. I refuse to get the original trilogy on BluRay ’cause I don’t want Darth Vader screaming “Nooo” at the end of “Return of the Jedi”.

I was never a big fan of the prequels; although, “Episode III: Revenge of the Sith” was a pretty good one. The film was still a mess but pretty decent.

And like I said before, I’m more into “Star Trek” than “Star Wars” but I still respect “Star Wars” for it’s legacy and all that. I grew up on both “Star Trek” and “Star Wars”. I like “Star Trek” more ’cause it’s true science-fiction and their stories aren’t as childish.

As for “Episode VII”, I haven’t seen the official Star Wars page drop any new announcements yet today. I was expecting them to announce the “subtitle” and the “synopsis”. Maybe they’ll make those announcements later this evening.

“Empire Strike Back” will always be my favorite Star Wars film. Could “Episode VII” be just as good now that Lawrence Kasdan is helping out with the writing? Hoping and praying.

Kev

I’m just happy that George Lucas is not involved with “Star Wars: Episode 7″…

Even if I’m kind of skeptical of JJ directing, “Star Wars: Episode VII”… I’m just very happy that George Lucas is not involved in any way. So good riddance! If George was involved with “Episode VII” whether directing, writing or producing… George would have ruined the next movie just like he ruined the prequels. George retiring for good is just a great opportunity to make it a better film with new people! You’ll see a major difference with George not being involved. I’m sure JJ will try to bring in some of George’s style in the next film but that’s gonna be hard to do. George’s style can’t be matched. JJ will have a hard time copying his style so most of the movie will end up being JJ’s style. You can betcha there will be plenty of CGI and lens flare effects which JJ is obsessed with. Even though George Lucas is not involved, I’m sure George will still help him a little bit. Maybe George will stop by when they’re filming and he could give everybody some quick filming tips??? He probably will visit the cast and crew on set.

I’m glad the next movie is not gonna be based upon the Expanded Universe stuff too. The Timothy Zahn books are great but I wouldn’t want JJ to make the next movie based on those books. I would want a completely new and original story too.

I’m sure JJ has what it takes to make everybody happy. He’ll make Star Wars fans proud. At least, I hope so. I hope JJ will make me proud and make me walk out of the theater with a big smile on my face. That’s what we need with Star Wars again.

I know it may seem pretty silly to bring all the characters back but come on, this is freakin’ Star Wars. If they made a sequel after “Jedi” and not bring any of the older characters back at all, then fans wouldn’t care about the new movie. This film is a Star Wars celebration. A blast from the past. They have to bring the original gang back and to mix it in with new characters too. I’m hoping and praying that JJ will make this a great Star Wars film. Could it be the best Star Wars film since, “Empire Strikes Back”???

I’m looking forward to seeing what Adam Driver’s villain character is gonna look like. He’s obviously gonna be a Sith character similar to Darth Vader and Darth Maul. Will Adam be wearing black armor and a costume or will he be wearing alien make-up? We’ll have to wait and see.

On a side note, if you want to see Daisy Ridley in her short film, “Blue Season” see the video below. Daisy Ridley is one of the new cast members in the casting photo JJ released, that’s who Carrie was talking to in the photo. From what I heard Daisy has never been in a big movie before. I think “Blue Season” is her first film. Star Wars is gonna make Daisy a huge star for sure.

I’m looking forward to seeing more “Episode VII” news on May the 4th this Sunday. I’m pretty sure they’re gonna reveal the subtitle and the synopsis next. Maybe they’ll reveal what characters the new cast will be playing too. I’m interested in seeing what role Max Von Sydow is playing. Sydow is probably either playing a Master Jedi for Luke or an imperial villain.

I say Disney/Lucasfilm should leave Indiana Jones alone…

A scary rumor was brought up this morning that Disney/Lucasfilm is thinking about re-booting the Indiana Jones franchise with Bradley Cooper taking over Indy if the Harrison Ford starring, “Indiana Jones 5” isn’t going on. Thankfully the rumor turned out not to be true! Don’t get me wrong. Bradley Cooper is a talented actor and one of the best out there but Indy isn’t for him. Bradley is too good looking and pretty to be playing Indy anyways.

I don’t mind Disney/Lucasfilm continuing on with Star Wars but Indy can’t be done without it’s original team. I feel that Indy needs to be done none other by the original three: George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford. George Lucas no longer wants to be a part of this. It is still not yet known whether or not Spielberg wants to direct “Indy 5”. It is also not yet known whether or not Harrison is coming back although he has expressed interest in coming back in past interviews.

I love Indiana Jones. “Raiders Of the Lost Ark” will always be the best film. That film is a classic. No matter how many times Disney reboots Indy, nothing will EVER top “Raiders”. “Raiders” is one of my favorite movies ever. “Temple of Doom” was great. “The Last Crusade” was great too. “The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was pretty good except I didn’t like Shia Labeouf being in that film and didn’t care for the Nuke the Fridge scene like most people. Other than that, “Crystal Skull” was an okay film.

Indy should continue on with a 5th movie but not under Disney. Like I repeatedly said, it needs to be done by the original three. If it’s not done by the original three, then don’t do Indy at all.

Disney being in charge of Indy is scary stuff. I can’t see the upcoming Indy movies being loaded with CGI and the films being aimed for kids.

Will Steven Spielberg still be on for directing the next Indy film? I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. I am predicting though that Spielberg won’t direct the next one ’cause he probably can’t make it without George. Same with Harrison. He might not do it without George either.

I think they should just leave it as these 4 films. Indy having a large number of sequels would be pretty lame. Continue on with Star Wars all you want to but Indy can’t be touched. Of course they won’t. They’re gonna keep making Indy sequels and make loads of money off it.

Will I go see the next Indy movie? I don’t know. If Harrison agrees to reprise his role as Indy once again, maybe but if he’s not gonna be in the next one… then no. Depends on how good the plot is gonna be and stuff.
