Cool Video: Do you have DirectTV? You may be the first to see Led Zeppelin’s “Celebration Day” on TV…

Led Zeppelin is teasing something again, by posting a photo and a video of a zeppelin flying over Dallas, with the words, Direct TV, over a screen showing clips of the, “Celebration Day”, movie. This is a hint that “Celebration Day”, could soon be aired on DirectTV satellite.

This is a cool way of marketing.

Led Zeppelin, has always been known to come up with crazy ways of marketing themselves. I’m pretty sure Jimmy Page himself, comes up with the wild promotion ideas.

On a side note, I know “Celebration Day” have been out on Blu Ray/CD. The Holidays are upon us.

  1. That’s actually a blimp, not a zeppelin. (there is a difference, but that’s not important).

It was just an advertising gimmick by LZ. The only thing it has to do with Direct TV though is that their blimp is the only one in the world with a screen like that. In fact, the screen itself is the only one in the world like it. They also they also teamed up with a Dallas radio station to simulcast the audio from the video of Black Dog. And why Dallas? The DTV blimp just happened to be in Dallas to cover the game.

So very doubtful that it is any kind of a tease.

    1. It maybe a blimp, but it’s shaped like a zeppelin and designed like one. Even Led Zep called it a Zeppelin on their facebook page. I know an actual Zeppelin was a German airship used after World War I, which the band got their name from that. And I know it’s an advertising gimmick, no need to state the obvious.
