Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty thoughts…

I was never a fan of Duck Dynasty and never watched the show but I thought I would give out my brief thoughts on this whole Phil Robertson controversy. You can betcha, I’m gonna side with him on this one. I’m not gonna say whether or not I agree with his thoughts on gay people but he has the right to say what he wants and he’s entitled to his own opinion. People should have all their right to disagree with homosexuality or gay marriage ’cause it’s not for everybody, ya know? Not everyone is gonna agree with it. I have nothing against homosexuality, I respect people like that but everybody should have the right to be against it. You don’t have to agree with what he said or like it but he has his rights.

Nobody believes in the first amendment anymore. I think the internet and the media is partly responsible for taking first amendment rights away from us.

I’m even having freedom of speech troubles myself. Always have. Like all my thoughts with President Obama, politics, Zimmerman, even my local music topics, etc. I can’t believe what I want anymore. If I say stuff that has a different opinion than everyone else… everyone will get easily offended and call me the bad guy. It’s bullshit. All of it.

As for my thoughts on Obama, right-wing politics and all that stuff — I absolutely blame it on liberal media that I can’t talk about what I want. Freedom of speech has never been a problem until the internet and the news media has gotten so big. It seems like it’s a crime that we have a differences of opinion. Seems like everybody’s trying to force us to side with them on everything.

    1. True but we could live in a better world if people wouldn’t get too upset too easily. I’ve gotten in trouble for some stuff I’ve said over the internet myself.

  1. I agree with you, partly – this guy is allowed to feel how he wants to feel, even if I don’t agree with him, and if people are offended by it then they just shouldn’t watch his program.

You, however, have zero free speech problems. You’ve got a blog where you say whatever you please and believe whatever you like.

    1. Yep, that’s what I use this blog for to talk about whatever comes to my mind. No holds barred, anything goes. I try to keep controversial topics away from facebook, though. I’ll get all kinds of people yelling at me, blocking/removing me and silly stuff like that.

NO ONE is infringing on your rights to speak. Yet you delete the comments of others that disagree with you.

You don’t want free speech. You want your speech. You want to attack me, call me liberal, yet you bitch when people attack you, claiming they are trying to take away your rights?

And you say you are not against homosexuality, and at the same time say you agree with Robertson?

    1. If you read carefully… I said, I wouldn’t say whether or not I agree with him. That’s not agreeing with him but he does have the right to say what he wants. Everybody has a certain preference on their sexuality.

      1. I sided with him ’cause I believe in freedom of speech not because of his thoughts on gay people. I made that pretty clear in this post.

  3. If you have nothing against homosexuality, then why are you against same sex marraige? If you have nothing against them, then shouldn’t you agree that they should have equal rights?

    1. Just because someone disagrees with gay-marriage doesn’t mean they hate homosexuality. I respect gays but not gay-marriage. Nothing wrong with believing in that.

      1. Of course, when you side with people like Phil Robertson or disagree with gay-marriage, I get labeled as a homophobe. That’s another thing I hate about the internet. People are stupid and don’t know what they’re talking about.
