JJ Abrams not quite done casting for “Star Wars Episode VII”…

JJ Abrams may have finally revealed the casting of “Star Wars Episode VII” yesterday but that doesn’t mean he’s done casting yet. They are still in search of another female lead. They’re looking for an actress with a mixed race who is in her 20’s so that means this actress could end up being Lupita Nyong’o or Maisie Richardson-Sellers. Lupita still has a chance so she’s definitely not ruled-out yet.

I hope Lupita will get it. I just saw “12 Years A Slave” not too long ago through Netflix DVD rental and I thought the film was pretty amazing. She was great in that role. I think Lupita will make a great addition to Star Wars.

The question you have to ask is, what is “Star Wars Episode VII” planning to use a young black actress for? Like I said before, I read somewhere that this film will have a young black female as a Jedi so she’s not gonna be some princess used for a love interest. She’s going to be a major part of the story and will probably do a lot of action scenes. She will probably do plenty of light-saber combat.

The casting is still not done and I’m sure they will add more to the cast as time goes along so maybe Billy Dee still has a chance too?

Anyway, I’m very happy for all the new cast who get to be a part of this film. This gotta be exciting and thrilling for them. I’m sure the new cast are all big Star Wars fans like the rest of us. They gotta be pretty stoked to be in the same movie with Mark, Harrison, and Carrie so a big congratulations to all of them. I’m sure they will have a blast filming this movie.

    1. Yes, looking good so far, I agree. They still need to reveal the title and plot/synopsis which will be Sunday May the 4th, I hope.

They are still missing some pretty important names from the cast. Like Billy Dee, Frank Oz (Yoda), and James Earl Jones. Not sure if they will use Yoda in this film or not but probably. As for James Earl Jones, no chance in hell of Vader coming back but they could use some pretty nice flashbacks… Luke thinking back at his father would be pretty cool.

  1. Well, I don’t think they want to turn it into some circus with trying to include every possible character just for old times sake. That would just make it silly and distract from a potentially decent story.

    1. Yeah, that was the big problem with the prequel trilogy. We really didn’t need to see Chewbacca in a two minute cameo in Revenge of the Sith.

      1. … but “Episode VII” will be taken place 30 years after Return of the Jedi so it makes total sense to bring all the old characters back. I think Yoda will be back ’cause he’s definitely gonna be used in some form. Keep in mind that Yoda is just a voice-over now since Yoda will no longer be used as a puppet. Frank Oz will probably be back to voice Yoda once they finish filming the Yoda scenes.

I’m sure Lando will be back too. Maybe Lando will have a cameo or something.

      2. I mean think about it, if there’s not gonna be a Luke and Yoda reunion… it won’t be a Star Wars movie so yeah, I think they’re gonna be reunited in some way. Yoda will probably be back as a force ghost. Maybe Ben Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker will be back as force ghosts too.

  2. The problem with Ben Kenobi coming back is Alec Guinness is dead. I think people would have issues with that.

Anakin, then it becomes which Anakin? The one played by Sebastian Shaw (who is also dead) or Hayden Christensen (who fans wish was dead.)

I don’t mind them bringing back characters if it makes sense to the story, but just bringing them back as a cameo to go “Hey, here’s what’s his face! You all had his action figure back in the day!” is lame.

I’m sure George Lucas filmed plenty of deleted footage of Ben Kenobi as a force ghost from “Strike Back/Jedi” that didn’t make those films so I’m sure he’ll let JJ use ’em for the new movie. They’ll figure it out somehow. You’d be surprised of what Hollywood can do. I see you don’t know much about the magic of film making. These guys are geniuses. They can do anything.

Mark and Carrie would probably be used for smaller roles but it’s looking like Han Solo will be the big star in the next one. Han Solo will play a major role in “Episode VII” the media is reporting.

I think it’s a good idea to make the next movie more like the original trilogy which is their whole goal. It can’t be done without Luke, Leia and Han. They need to be a part of it.

      1. I think it’ll be amazing to see the original Star Wars back on the big screen. I’m all for it. It’s a good thing they’re getting right to work on it ’cause Harrison isn’t getting any older and I just heard that Harrison will be playing in Episode 8 and 9 too.

      2. If they use Sir Alec’s image, I am sure there won’t be any harm. It’ll be a nice tribute to him, anyway. I am positive fans will welcome a Ben Kenobi appearance. Even a small cameo won’t hurt anything.

Even if they don’t use him as a force ghost, I am almost positive we’ll hear a “Use the force” voice over from Sir Alec when Luke is in a light saber battle.

Fans won’t be upset with using Sir Alec for the film. I am sure they’ll be thrilled. I know I would get up from my seat and cheer when I hear Sir Alec saying, “Use the force, Luke!”. That would rock!

      3. Unless, JJ decides to get a replacement actor for the old Ben Kenobi which gets me thinking that’s who Max Von Sydow might be playing. Not sure but just a thought.

  3. Well, yeah – there’s already an entire expanded universe that happened after episode 6. None of that is new…

    1. Well, Disney made the announcement not too long ago that “Episode VII” will not focus on any of the expanded universe stuff. The story for “Episode VII” will be totally new and original.

  4. I think it would be syupid and pointless to bring back Obi Wan or Anakin. Those story lines are done. They had closure. Luke is not a struggling student anymore. He’s a Jedi Master. No longer in need of guidance from Obi Wan or even Yoda.

To bring any of them back would just be pandering and it would cheapen the films.

There is too much invested in the main characters now. To bring the others back would be demeaning to them.

They’ll bring them back. They have to. Like I said without them, it won’t be Star Wars. It ain’t like they’re gonna bring those characters back for the entire films, just small appearances wouldn’t hurt.

Yoda will have to appear absolutely. He’s too valuable and important for Star Wars. There’s no fucking way JJ will neglect him, I’m sorry.
