Should the American people feel sorry for musicians and movie industry people being out of work due to the shutdown of America? Many won’t but you should. This shutdown of the country will have a huge negative affect on both the movie and music industry whether you want to see it or not.
Pretty much all bands & artists were forced to either cancel or postpone their tours. Now many famous bands & artists are stuck at home instead of going out there rockin’ out for people like they were supposed to do. If you think this is a good thing, this shutdown is gonna make them lose a lot of money ’cause of it.
Now that bands & musicians are stuck at home, they have plenty of time to work on new music and many of them already have started work on their next records. Many bands & artists as you all know doing live streams at their homes either doing live performances or Q&A sessions with their fans. They’re just trying to keep themselves and their fans occupied during these tough times. Trying to find ways to entertain themselves and other people.
The shutdown of America will have a negative affect on the record label industry for sure, I’m sure bands & artists have plenty of finished recorded albums but record labels are probably closed and CD manufacturers are probably closed. Even if the album is ready to release, there will be no record stores open to sell them yet (Yes, there are still record stores in America that sells new records especially FYE). If you want to buy new music, your best option is online either through Itunes, Amazon or listen to streaming services like Apple Music or Spotify. I’m sure new records will continue to get released online through the month of April during this shut down… if you want to buy CD or vinyl at the store that will have to wait a while sadly. Record stores in America are gonna lose money ’cause of this as well.
As for the movie industry, it’s very much dead right now due to this shutdown. Many actors and actresses are stuck at their homes and even a lot of them are trying to provide entertainment for themselves and for their fans. That’s why you’re starting to see many celebrities and actors doing more Q&A’s ’cause even the actors are bored themselves and they want something to do while out of work.
I’m sure many movies that were being made currently are all on hold for now… including TV shows being made… everything on hold in the movie/TV industry. That means the film crew will be stuck at home too… like directors, producers, etc. I’m sure all the movie studios like Warner Bros., Paramount, Disney, etc. are all shut down as well. Movie theaters closed all across America so that’s gonna hurt the box office badly with April releases of films. It’s also gonna hurt the BluRays/DVD market with retail stores being closed everywhere. If you want to watch movies during this covid-19 pandemic, your best bet is to either rent/buy online or through online streaming services.
When all of this is all over, though, it’s going to be kind of difficult for both the music and movie industry to get back on track like they were before.
If the economy is gonna be destroyed over covid-19 then that also means the death of the music and movie industry so hopefully that doesn’t happen. If you like to listen to music and watch movies, people won’t admit that they create all this stuff for us. They should think before trashing the entertainment industry like they always do.
