Just re-recorded “Big Giant Circus” and this is the final version…

Just re-recorded “Big Giant Circus” and made it way better now. I added a guitar solo too. There’s gonna be guitar solos on the album ’cause I want it to be a big time guitar album which is the goal.

I’m very proud of the song and think it’s one of my best ones. I’m having a lot of fun re-discovering my old music and bringing it back. “Big Giant Circus” is an old song I wrote back in the 2000’s years… discovered the song on an old demo CD I made. Decided to re-learn it and bring it back. I’m planning to bring a lot more old songs back too.

New original song: “Big Giant Circus”…

This is one of my older songs from the past that I wrote back in the early 2000’s years. It’s gonna be for the “Greatest Hits” album that I’m planning on doing. This track is just a rough draft, just an idea so it’s not gonna be absolutely perfect. Guitar parts still need some work and vocals need some work so I plan on re-recording this song until I get it right. Planning re-recording this track from scratch today.

I’m very proud of this song, though. I’m gonna keep working on this song until I get it perfect. The way I want it.

If I were to release my debut album, I’d probably release it for free on bandcamp…

I’m gonna start writing and recording again soon. My plans for the debut album? Well, I’m planning on re-recording a lot of my older songs. Thinking it might be a double album. One side will be all new original songs and the other side will be a greatest hits kind of thing. The other side will be my older songs that I plan on re-recording so I can make them sound even better. Yes, I plan on bringing back a lot of my older songs including: “Evil Fred”, “Mr. Tough Guy”, “Time Bomb” and many others.

This will be an online only release so I’m probably just gonna drop it for free on bandcamp. A lot of unsigned and local acts has been doing that. Dropping their albums for free on bandcamp so I’m thinking of doing the same thing. I will come up with a title for it and will have a cover designed for it and all that stuff. Once I get all the songs recorded and finished, I’ll probably send it away for “copyright” before I release it all which is a pretty good idea.

I’m itching to get more music out ’cause I’ll admit, I haven’t done this in a while and wanna get back into it.

I want my first album to happen and it will. I know I keep promising this every year but I kind of wanna take my time with it and hopefully make the best album possible. Make it something special.

As a musician, I try to play other kinds of music but my heart is in rock n’ roll & metal…

As an acoustic guitar player, I try to write folkie kind of songs, ballads and country stuff but for some reason I can’t write that stuff. I feel that I’m not really all that good writing that stuff. Whenever I sit down and write a song, I always hear original “rock” songs in my head. Do you wanna know why most of my original acoustic songs almost always sound kind of “rocky”? That’s why it’s because I hear “rock” songs in my head. I guess that’s what I get for listening to so much rock & metal over the years ’cause believe me, I listened to rock & metal throughout my life. I discovered rock & metal when I was a young child and never stopped listening to those two genres ever since. It explains why my acoustic playing is always so tight and full of energy. I’ll probably always continue to write songs like that.

Yeah, I play acoustic guitar but I play it as if I’m playing an electric guitar. I don’t play acoustic like if I’m going to sing campfire songs at all. I use the acoustic to rock on it. Why? Probably because I don’t have a band on my  own yet and will soon. I think my music would be a lot better in a full band and I will get a band together one of these days. People may see that I play acoustic and they expect me to perform a folk or a country song and that’s not gonna be me. They’re gonna be surprised of what they’ll hear out of me and they usually are.

I plan to write a new batch of original tunes pretty soon and will try to get that internet album out there.

I never wanted to be a folk or a country artist. Playing folk music or country is overrated in the acoustic guitar realm. I wanted to be something different than everyone else. When I used to play live, I had a hard time getting gigs booked at cafes & coffeehouses ’cause I never promoted myself as a “folk” artist and I was totally different than most acoustic artists out there. Getting gigs at cafes maybe pretty easy for folk or country artists but I got rejected a lot. Not because they think I suck, it’s ’cause of different tastes in genres, I believe.

You see how most acoustic solo artists out there, all they play are folk songs and country songs with three chords… nope… not with me. When you see me on stage with an acoustic guitar, you’ll see me aggressively pounding on that thing. Tight and percussive rhythm chops. That’s how I’ve always played. When I play the acoustic guitar and perform my songs, I have a vision in my head that I’m playing in an actual band. I know I’m not but just pretending. That’s how I’ve always liked to play live.

I wanna get back out there on the live stage again ’cause I miss performing honestly and haven’t done it in a long while. I’m itching to get back out there. Play some open mics and maybe get a few gigs.

Want to get my first album in the works hopefully in 2016, will probably be all acoustic…

Earlier this year, I upgraded to a whole new studio setup. I got the Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 interface w/phantom power and the PreSonus studio monitors. My new studio setup sounds pretty impressive as I wanted it to be. I wanted a better sound and to record clean with no background hissing or buzzing and any of that unwanted noise. My home studio setup still needs more. Before I start recording, I should get a pop filter so I can record clean vocals without the p’s and b’s. I also need a music stand in which I will get both of these soon.

I’m itching to get a whole new batch of originals out. It’s probably gonna be all acoustic. I’m planning on going back to the acoustic rock thing that I’m used to doing and of course, I’ll still write ballads too. I’m gonna stay away from political songs ’cause people are not really into those. I don’t think people will want to hear my “right-wing” politics in my songs so I think I’ll stay away from them for my next batch of songs. For the lyrics, I think I’ll write positive stuff. Write songs about how great life is and things like that. I think I’ll try to stay away from the dark and negative stuff.

I’ll make the next demo album as best sounding as possible. I’m gonna produce it and do it all myself. Do the mixing and mastering, I’ll figure it all out. I’m planning to record this album with a regular acoustic guitar without all the built in electronics. I’m not gonna play acoustic/electric for this one ’cause I want more of a true acoustic feel. This album will have me doing my own backup vocals and I will have guitar solos too.

I would also like to try to figure out how to soundproof this room so I can keep sound from outside from picking up the recording… ya know, cars and vehicles from outside and noise around the house. I can’t afford all that studio sound proofing material yet but I’m sure there’s a way to soundproof this room on the cheap… I’ll figure it out by doing some googling.

Video: “Take My Breath Away” cover…

So I decided to try covering one of my favorite tunes of all time, “Take My Breath Away”. Ya know the song by Berlin from the “Top Gun” movie.

I pretty much figured this whole song out by ear myself. Well I looked at some of the tabs of this song online and most all of them were completely wrong so I figured out every chord and riff myself. The song is a piece of cake really. I think I got the song down close enough.

This is just my own version. I didn’t want to perform it the same way Berlin did it.

This is a facebook exclusive video. Enjoy.

Planning to do a new acoustic demo pretty soon…

I think my next batch of songs will be a more true acoustic record. I think I’m gonna record my next batch of originals without the acoustic/electric. Don’t get me wrong, I love the acoustic/electric but I wanna go for something different this time around. I think I’m gonna play original songs with a real acoustic guitar. Ya know a regular acoustic guitar without all those built-in electronics.

I was gonna buy myself a new regular acoustic guitar but I don’t have to now. I just found one in the attic that a family member of mine left in there. This acoustic guitar never got played and it’s been stuck in the attic for a lot of years so I thought. As long as this guitar is never gonna get played, it’s mine now. So I grabbed it from the attic, put new strings on it and she sounds beautiful. It’s a great guitar. A regular acoustic does sound different than a acoustic/electric. I played both guitars and noticed the difference in sound. The regular acoustic sounds better, in my opinion. A bigger and brighter sound which is what I was looking for, a more true acoustic & folky like sound.

I wanna get back to recording again. I got all this new recording equipment that I bought myself The Focusrite interface and the speaker monitors but haven’t used them much yet but I will. Was just waiting to come up with song ideas. I’ll re-record some of my older songs and try to write a bunch of new ones.

Maybe try to make that internet album that I was talking about. I would love to try to see if I can sell my music on Itunes, Apple Music & Spotify. Doing a little research on that stuff… I think the ways to do it is to get your music copyrighted for one and then you gotta find a distribution of some sort. I’m looking into it.

What would my next batch of songs be about? Don’t know. I’ll just write whatever I come up with. I could write ballads, acoustic rock… write songs about myself, politics or try to write some more love songs. I would like to write more political songs ’cause I have some pretty good ideas and I don’t think they’re gonna be anti-Obama songs. Political songs that will say what’s going on in the world.

I would like the album thing to happen. It’s all gonna be homemade, I think. A Do it yourself kind of thing. I finally have great sounding recording equipment so my next recordings will be “perfectly” clean with no background noises, no hissing or humming… none of that shit. My next batch of songs will sound like a pro studio almost, just wait for ’em.

If I ever finish the album, I’ll design a cover for it and all for the internet only. It’s not gonna be a physical CD release ’cause I can’t afford that at this time. Nobody cares for CD’s anymore anyway so the internet is the best way to go. The album cover will probably be nothing fancy… just me holding my guitar will probably be on the front of it.

Hope to get a new demo/album out in 2016. Hopefully. I wanna get back out there playing live again… regular gigs or open mics ’cause I’ll admit, I miss performing on the stage. Haven’t done that in a long while.
