MJ burial is finally happening…

The MJ burial is happening right now as you read this. Pretty much all of Michael Jackson’s supporters came out to attend the funeral that includes Lisa Marie Presley, Macaulay Culkin, Elizabeth Taylor, Chris Tucker (the comedian/actor), and more.

MJ will be buried in Glendale, California…the same cemetery where other legends were buried such as Walt Disney, Clark Gable, George Burns and more.

I’d say it’s about damn time. This should have happened a while ago, it shouldn’t take that long for a dead person to be buried.

Brock’s Top Ten bands/artists of today…

Since I have nothing to post really, I just wanted to discuss some of the best bands and artists that I like going on today. I usually don’t like today’s music but sometimes good stuff come around.

Here are some of the good bands/artists that I personally enjoy that are going on right now:

  • Black Label Society – I own two of their albums and would like to collect more. Zakk Wylde is a wonderfully talented songwriter. He doesn’t just write heavy material, he likes to write acoustic music and slow piano ballads too. BLS is great!
  • Foo Fighters – Dave Grohl has always been great, I’m a big Foo Fighters fan and always admired them.
  • Oasis – Always been a great rock band.
  • The Eagles of Death Metal – If you want to hear kick ass rock and roll, listen to these guys. Old school rock n’ roll, great guitar playing and kick ass vocals. They put comedy in their songwriting too.
  • Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs – One of the best female fronted rock bands around now.
  • Phish – Still one of the greatest jam bands around.
  • Tinted Windows – I love the lineup of James Iha, Taylor Hansen, Bun E. Carlos and the other guy. This is actually a very good album, and I like it a lot. Great rock.
  • Lamb of God – Possibly one of the best metal bands of today. Mark Morton and Willie Adler are both amazing guitarists. I like the guitar playing a lot more than Randy Blythe’s vocals though, but this band is always great to listen to.
  • Taylor Swift – I still find her music amazing. Enjoy listening to her lots.
  • The Sword – Another one of my favorite metal bands of today. I have both of their albums, “Age of Winters” and “Gods of the Earth”. Really amazing stuff.

Other bands/artists of today that I like that are not on the list: Eminem, M.I.A., Rihanna, Kanye West and Dream Theater.

Thought: What would Oasis be like without Noel?

So you think the popularity of the band Oasis will tank with Noel being gone? In my opinion, no. I don’t think Noel leaving will hurt the band if you think about it. Liam sang the lead vocals in most Oasis songs and Liam is actually a great singer. Noel was the main songwriter of the band, he wrote most Oasis songs while Liam sang them all. Sometimes Noel will sing the lead vocals.

The best Oasis albums in their career were, “What’s the Story Morning Glory”, “Be Here Now” and “Dig Out Your Soul”. “Dig Out Your Soul” their newest record is surprisingly a really good one and I can’t stop listening to it.

Depending on if Liam gets a replacement to take over Noel’s spot and depending on the new Oasis songs, they could still be big even without Noel.

Band members changes. Look at Metallica, Rob Trujillo didn’t hurt Metallica at all by replacing Jason Newsted. It didn’t hurt Led Zeppelin’s comeback with Jason Bonham replacing his father John for that one reunion show. The members of Van Halen changes, and they are still going strong.

What I’m saying, a band can still be successful even when members changes. Liam will not break up Oasis, he’s either going to get a replacement or make it just a 4 piece band with Liam writing all the songs.

Will I still support Oasis even without Noel? Sure, why not. It all depends on how their material is without Noel. I’ve always been a big Oasis fan.

Brock’s favorite music album of the summer…

Just like the movie of the summer post below, here is my favorite music album of the summer…..

I don’t buy too many new music albums of today, but I just had to get this. Ever since I got it, I can’t stop listening to it. The album has all the Spinal Tap songs from the movie, “This is Spinal Tap”, and the band written some new songs for the new record as well. This album is extremely tight, amazing guitar playing by Christopher Guest and great vocals of Michael Mckean.

These guys are old, but they are still very talented musicians and they still have it. I wish they would get away from TV and film, they should concentrate on music more. I think it’s the music that they are best at.

Really great album. I hope Spinal Tap are a full time band now, and hope they do another new album, next year.

Yep, definitely looks like he’s done for good.

Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning.

As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock’n’roll pop group Oasis.

The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.

I would like firstly to offer my apologies to them kids in Paris who’d paid money and waited all day to see us only to be let down AGAIN by the band. Apologies are probably not enough, I know, but I’m afraid it’s all I’ve got.

While I’m on the subject, I’d like to say to the good people of V Festival that experienced the same thing. Again, I can only apologise – although I don’t know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren’t up to it.

In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I’ll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories.

Now, if you’ll excuse me I have a family and a football team to indulge.

I’ll see you somewhere down the road. It’s been a fuckin’ pleasure.

Thanks very much.

Goodbye.

NG.

Thought: So why did Liam and Noel stick together in Oasis, even if they hated each others guts?

So you wonder, why didn’t Noel quit a long time ago if him and Liam never got along? These two brothers always hated each other guts. They were always fighting in the studios, on the tour buses, etc. Pretty much everywhere they go…but they stuck together anyway in the band to make music throughout the years. Over the years, Noel learned to deal with the negativity. You asked, why do you play music in a band when members don’t get along? It isn’t because they are family members. The answer is real simple…it’s all about the fame, superstardom and the money.

The band was one of the biggest bands in the 90’s…they stuck together ’cause they were enjoying the fame, the star power, and the money they were making.

I believe that the reason the Gallagher brothers never got along is because of how their parents raised them. Reading their wikipedia information, both of the brothers didn’t have a good childhood, they were abused by their father. Noel was a trouble maker as a kid as he stole stuff from cars and he was on probation at the time as well.

I always thought Noel was the good Gallagher brother. I always hated Liam more. Liam is the one that is the douche, not Noel.

Noel maybe a controversial guy, he may swear and cuss a lot in interviews and says some pretty wild things, but a lot of people are like that. So I’m not bothered by Noel at all and always thought he was the good guy in the band. So I’m actually glad that Noel finally plugged the plug on Oasis when he should have done it years ago.

Noel is the one that turned Oasis mainstream, he’s the one that wrote hits such as “Wonderwall” and most Oasis radio hits that made the band big. If Liam continues Oasis without Noel, I assure you the band won’t be mainstream anymore. Noel was a pretty important guy in the band, and Liam fucked everything up.

I’m sure there are better things for Noel Gallagher up ahead. Once the doors closes, new doors will open for you for better things. Maybe Noel will start a solo career or form himself a new band.

I applaud Noel for this move, so hopefully he sticks to his word and never goes back to the band. Noel probably thought Liam went out of line when he smashed Noel’s guitar right in front of him. Liam is the fucking bully here. I’m on Noel’s side all the way!

I’m sure Noel will speak more to the media about this controversy soon.

Report: Kurt Cobain added as a character in Guitar Hero 5…

Shirley Manson and Johnny Cash will be as characters in “Guitar Hero 5”, now Kurt Cobain will be playable. Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl won’t be feautured, just Kurt alone, I guess.

More on it here:

They need to add Dave Mustaine as a playable character, also adding Carlos Santana and Tom Petty as characters would also be totally cool.

BREAKING NEWS: Noel Gallagher quits Oasis, effective immediately!!!

Another news story that took me by surprise. Out of nowhere, Oasis’s lead guitarist and sometimes lead vocalist, Noel Gallagher, announced on the Official Oasis website, that Noel has quit the band. Yep, Noel is done.

It’s no secret that the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam never got along, pretty much their whole life. Noel is finally fed up with him and leaving the band tonight. He said with “great relief”, so that means Noel is proud of his decision.

Noel has been talking about a new Oasis album for a long time and he seems happy and excited about it, and now he finally admits he wasn’t happy in the band?

Noel is realizing that he’s getting too old that he don’t need to put up with Liam anymore. Fighting with brothers is for children. It’s nice to see Noel teach Liam a lesson that he doesn’t need to be in a band ’cause you’re family.

This doesn’t mean the end of Oasis, I see Liam continuing the band without Noel. Liam will front all the vocals like he always had. Noel has been wanting to start a solo career, so Noel will probably move on with that.

See Noel’s shocking news statement here:

This was unexpecting!

Report: Steven Tyler’s bandmates of Aerosmith goes on strike against singer!!!

Waiting for a new Aerosmith studio album with new songs to be released? Well, Aerosmith fans, don’t get your hopes up, ’cause you’re just going to have to wait even longer. The rest of the band members, Joe Perry and the gang are just fed up with Steven that they are going on strike against the singer. The band plans to NOT do anything with Steven musically until he gets clean and healthy.

Right after his accident, Steven went straight to the liquor store, buying some pretty hard drinks as you saw in that youtube video and the picture in this article.

Too much drinking is responsible for his onstage fall? Probably.
