Video: What’s it like backstage at Joe Bonamassa concerts… it’s not what you think!

You know how in rock concerts in the backstage area, there’s always all kinds of stuff going on? Like a lot of hard partying, fans doing a meet & greet with the musicians, a lot of alcohol, food, maybe even people doing drugs, dancing girls, etc.

Well, you’re not gonna see any of that backstage at Joe Bonamassa concerts. Joe Bonamassa the man himself gives you a little tour of what his backstage life is like and he himself warns you that it’s not much. Not much going on backstage at all. It’s just his dressing room and an empty hallway.

So if you ask for a backstage pass, you might be pretty disappointed but I’m sure it’ll be worth it just to meet Joe himself. Joe is the man, keeping it real and simple.

Music I’ve been listening to lately…

Yes, I continue to listen to a lot of albums on Apple Music. Just finished listening to the rest of Peter Gabriel’s discography ’cause I’m a huge fan of Peter Gabriel’s solo stuff. Before then, I only heard “So”, “Us” and “Up” and now I finally got to listen to the rest of his music. I listened to his first four albums: “Car”, “Scratch”, “Melt” and “Security”. I loved all of his albums but the album I was most impressed with was “Scratch My Back”. The album, “Scratch My Back” maybe a covers album but it’s an orchestra album which is beautiful stuff.

I’ve also finished listening to the rest of Billy Idol’s catalog of albums. Billy Idol is one of my favorite artists of all time. I love all of his music.

Now that David Bowie has finally got his entire catalog which was just announced today mastered for Itunes, there was only 3  albums of his I haven’t heard yet so I listened to them today. Thanks to Apple Music, I was able to listen to his entire catalog of albums ’cause I’m such a Bowie fanatic. I love all of Bowie’s albums ’cause how you can not like his music, ya know? While I love all of Bowie’s music, I’d say my top 5 fav. albums of his are: “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust”, “Hunky Dory”, “Heroes” and his latest album, “The Next Day”.

Later tonight, I’m gonna start listening to the rest of Smashing Pumpkins albums. Over the years, I’ve heard most of Pumpkins music but there’s like 3 or 4 records of theirs I’ve never heard yet.

Soon, I’m gonna make my way to Slipknot, Ac/Dc, Rush, Queensryche, Iron Maiden, the Scorpions, etc.

That’s the amazing thing about online music streaming. Gives you the opportunity to listen to the entire catalog of albums of your favorite artists which is pretty much what they made it for.

Once again, I won’t listen to the entire catalogs of every band & artist out there… I’m only gonna listen to all the albums of the bands & artists that I love. The ones that I grew up on and the ones who inspired me over the years.

Listening to music has always been one of my favorite things to do. I listen to all sorts of music. I listen to pretty much everything except for today’s country & opera music. I’m trying to get into more blues, jazz and classical, though. I’m just focusing on a lot of jazz music right now like for example, I’ve been listening to a lot of Al Di Meola which is a good start.

10 Reasons Playing Guitar Is Good For Your Mind and Body…

This is a great read by a Guitar World blogger that I thought it be worth sharing here. Playing guitar can be good for your mind and body. It’s pretty much the whole reason I play guitar pretty much and I agree with all these 10 reasons why playing guitar is actually good for you. Reasons playing guitar is good for you?

Well it makes you feel good playing it. Playing guitar can help relieve stress and make you happier. If you had a really bad day, you can pick up the guitar and you can immediately forget everything around you.

Playing guitar can also help make you a lot smarter. Forget going to school or colleges, you can simply learn to become smarter by picking up the guitar. Picking up the guitar can help build your brain muscles for sure.

Playing guitar can also help you attract more women. Which is true. You wanna get a girlfriend or a wife or even a casual sex partner? You don’t even need to go through all this self help dating stuff you see these days… you can pick up the ladies by one simple trick… playing the guitar!

Just play a face melting guitar solo or perform a really good song then you can get the babes. Why do you think a lot of women go to rock concerts whether national or local? I have noticed that I’ve gotten more female supporters toward my music lately which is a pretty good feeling really. I think it’s a proven fact that women love male guitar players. Women are attracted to them for whatever reason.

Finally listened to the rest of Slayer’s albums this week…

Thanks to Apple Music, I finally got around to finish listening to the rest of Slayer’s catalog. I try to listen to as much music as possible by the band by buying their music from the Itunes store but now that the streaming service is here, I finally got to listen to the rest of their discography. Out of all the 12 albums Slayer did over the years which albums do I think is the best?

I’d have to say that their newest one, “Repentless” is their best album in their entire career with “Reign In Blood” being a close second. “Reign In Blood” is obviously another classic Slayer album as well but “Repentless” is their best record, hands down. All their albums are great, of course but those two are the best, in my opinion. If you’re a Slayer fan yourself, I’m sure you would agree yourself.

I love Slayer. Even though all they play is fast thrashy music most of the time, they’re still listenable and very enjoyable. Slayer is a badass band, though. They’ve always have been. How did I get drawn into listening to them? Well, I saw their performance on the Metallica “Big 4” DVD w/ Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Before the “Big 4” stuff, I never listened to Slayer before that and that’s what made me start getting into them.

They’re a fun and enjoyable band. Tom Araya is a great singer and bass player plus the rest of the band is great as well. I like Kerry King even though that guy can be a bit of an egomaniac sometimes.

Is Courtney Love a cold blooded killer? I’d say yes, she might have something to do with a third death…

https://twitter.com/atriumdexter/status/646977082921254913

I know Courtney Love may have something to do with the deaths of Kurt Cobain and El Duce (real name: Elden Hoke) but she may also have something to do with a third death. She may have been responsible for the death of one of her founding bass players of her band, Hole, Kristen Pfaff.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kristen_Pfaff

As you can see Kristen Pfaff was also a drug addict but she got herself clean before her death, though. After she got clean and left rehab… she took a sabbatical from Hole to join another band called Janitor Joe to go on tour with. Did this upset Courtney ’cause Kristen left Hole for a while for another band and Courtney had her killed ’cause of it?

Courtney’s murder victims seems to be only people with drug addiction problems so you start to see a bit of a pattern here. She had three murder victims and she covered her tracks pretty well on all three of them.

When you confront Courtney herself about these deaths, she gets all bitchy and calls them conspiracy theory and all that stuff. So I think she’s hiding something. It’s interesting that she hasn’t been held accountable for anything yet but I think she will be soon. Whenever it gets proven that Courtney did murder these people, it’ll make the history books for sure.

Courtney didn’t kill these people herself, though but she probably hired hitmen to do it for her but that still makes her a murderer no matter what you think of it. Hiring hitmen is still murder. Hopefully Courtney does get exposed soon and thrown in prison before she takes down someone else. Drug addicts are easier for her to murder ’cause it’s easier to get away with. It is possible to murder someone and make it look like that drugs did it.

Congratulations to Iron Maiden and Slayer, both bands who made the top 10 in Billboard 200…

This is really good news for both Iron Maiden and Slayer. I congratulate both bands for sure. Both of their new albums made it to no. 4 on the Billboard Top 200… yes, both of their news albums: Iron Maiden “Book of Souls” and Slayer’s “Repentless” made it to no. 4. Which is very impressive actually!

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/on-the-charts-slayer-capture-best-debut-with-repentless-20150921

http://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200

Which is no surprise because both of those albums are fucking amazing! Like I said before even though Jeff Hanneman and Dave Lombardo are no longer involved in Slayer… they still kill it. Many of Slayer’s haters & doubters accused Slayer of not being able to pull it off without Jeff & Dave in the lineup but Slayer absolutely proved them all wrong.

Maiden’s “Book of Souls” and Slayer’s “Repentless” are such fuckin’ amazing albums and both albums are definitely the best new albums of this year for sure.

Maybe there is hope of a metal takeover in the music industry? It would be cool. If metal bands keep up the great work, they can kill all that pop & rap garbage that’s been dominating. There can be another metal takeover, they just need to try harder.

Slayer never made the top 10 before and I’m sure the guys are extremely happy and proud of that. Once again, it’s no surprise ’cause it is a great fucking album and if you haven’t heard either of these albums yet then you’re missing out. I own my own copy of both of these albums and I can’t stop listening to them. Definitely buy these albums. This is real music here… not Justin Bieber, Kanye or Nicki Minaj.

Finished listening to Joni Mitchell albums on Apple Music, what are my favorite albums of hers?

Well, I finally finished listening to all of Joni Mitchell’s albums. I even listened to the two live albums she did, “Miles of Aisles” and “Shadow of the Light” which were both really good. I’m a huge fan of Joni Mitchell now. I couldn’t stop listening to her music ’cause her music got addicting to me. Yes, even Joni changed directions with her music over the years. She didn’t stay in one genre. She went from acoustic folk to jazz to 80’s pop music to rock n’ roll. You name it, she pretty much did it all. Her music will give you goosebumps and melt your face. I just love her beautiful singing and her songs.

I loved all the music she did but my top 5 favorite albums she did were:

1. Blue

2. Both Sides Now

3. Travelogue

4. Miles of Aisles (live album)

5. Don Juan’s Reckless Daughter

Those five were her best albums in her career, in my opinion.

Will Joni ever make a new album? Not so sure. A new Joni album will probably never happen ’cause she’s not in good health right now and she probably can’t sing anymore due to having brain aneurysm or something like that plus, I think Joni retired from the music business ’cause “Travelogue” was said it was to be her final album. Why did she quit the music business? She said she didn’t like where the music industry was headed. She got out of the industry ’cause she didn’t like how the industry controlled it’s artists and she wanted her own control. A new Joni Mitchell record will never happen… unless she decides to release never before released material from the vault. Would be cool.

So I actually picked up a couple of albums on physical CD today…

Even though nobody cares about buying albums on physical CD anymore, I still do once in a blue moon even though I listen to music digitally these days.

These days, if I really like an album a lot, I’ll buy it on physical CD. Isn’t it interesting how physical CD’s are NOW more expensive than digital albums through Itunes? The industry purposefully does that ’cause they want everyone to buy music digitally from now on. The industry is trying to get rid of the CD market.

I got these albums from Target ’cause they were 9.99 there but everywhere else they costed more than that. It’s a shame what the record industry has come to. I miss the days when CD’s actually mattered.

I really love Lana Del Rey, though and I know, I’m late getting into her music. Didn’t care for her at first but her music really grew on me. I’m now realizing that she’s pretty amazing. I didn’t get her second album, “Ultraviolence” on CD yet but I will next time. I’ll review her new album, “Honeymoon” after I give it a few listens. I’m sure it’s real good.

Jewel’s new album, “Picking Up The Pieces” is surprisingly really good!

11228900_10153192983998131_4923910553871680726_n

I lost interest in Jewel’s music after her second album, “Spirit” ’cause like I said before… I didn’t like how she changed directions in her music. She went country and pop so she can fit in the mainstream. I used to be a huge fan but now I think I’m a fan of her music again. For a long while she stayed with the country & pop genre but in this new album, she finally returns to her folk roots. This is the true Jewel that we all want. The folk singer Jewel, not the pop singer Jewel. The Jewel I wanna hear are her mellow acoustic songs with her amazing and face-melting singing. We definitely get that back with her new album.

“Picking Up The Pieces” is a collection of songs she’s been performing live over the years that she never recorded in the studio before. These songs can go way back in the 90’s since her first album, “Pieces of You” which is an album that I still love today. Finally we get the Jewel that we all want. I think this album will be a huge seller and it’s already selling pretty big now. I really hope Jewel stays with the folk genre ’cause I never cared for her pop music. I was disappointed in her that she changed directions in her music just so she can stay in the mainstream and make big money. I was more into her acoustic folky stuff.

This new album by Jewel is pretty amazing stuff, though. I listened to it two times already and it’s recommended. The real Jewel is back and hope she stays this way. Jewel is not a pop star, a folk singer is what she really is.
