Internet haters…

Yes. It seems that I still get internet haters after all these years…but you know what? That’s fine. I’m okay with that. I’m usually never offended when people talk shit about me online, ’cause actually it makes me a lot stronger and more tougher. The thing that people don’t  understand about me is, that I’m the same guy off and on the computer. I’m honest and tell things like it is. Yes. People may think I’m the bad guy for it, but that’s okay. If you want to hate me, good. Go for it. I don’t do this for attention. I don’t do it for ego. It’s just how I am. It’s just my personality, being brutally honest about things.

I’m just a normal guy that enjoys life. I’m a fitness guy, a musician, blogger, I also enjoy video games and movies. I enjoy the things I do. So I don’t have time to deal with idiots in youtube or facebook who are obsessed with me in a hateful manner. I’ve been dealing with this stuff for years, so I have no choice but to just deal with it. When you become a popular internet person, you’ll get a mix between love & hate. You’ll get your share of fans & haters. It’ll be boring if we had to love everything, right? I can’t please everybody, I’m just being myself and WILL continue to be myself. Can’t help it.

On a lighter note, I’ve been playing a lot of Call of Duty: Black Ops online today. It’s my day off of working out. I’ll be going back to the Greenwich Y to train the legs/biceps. I want to try the squat on “The Smith” machine, looks very easy.

Have a lot to catch up on for this site…

I have a lot to catch up on in the news. Yes I know Jack Lalanne died yesterday, so I will have a tribute for him later today. The reason the blog was slow over the weekend ‘case not much news to post and I pretty much stayed away from the computer, doing other things. I will get back to posting today.

I didn’t post at all yesterday ’cause I was too busy watching NFL Football all day long. 🙂 Yes, I watched both Green Bay Packers/Bears and the Jets/Steelers game. Both games were really good. I’m disappointed that the Jets didn’t make the Superbowl this year, I was hoping they were going to make it too. Oh well, the Jets can always give it another try next year.

Will post a videoblog once a week…

From this point on, I think I’m going to post a videoblog a week. What will I do with these videoblogs? They will be about everything. Whether it will be about movies, music, politics, health & fitness, traveling adventures, etc. If I have something to get off my chest and don’t feel like writing it on this site, I’ll speak on the topic on video instead. I enjoy making videoblogs as a fun little hobby and it’s a fantastic way to express yourself publicly.

Of course, I’ll still record myself on video performing songs at home or at live gigs when I get some. Video taping is a fun hobby.

Greenwich finally gets a YMCA!!!

Yes that’s right. My hometown of Greenwich finally gets our very own YMCA workout gym! This is pretty thrilling news, and great for the Greenwich community. Greenwich needs this. There aren’t too many people in Greenwich that are in the best of shape, and Greenwich having our own YMCA will hopefully help everyone to get motivated into fitness more. It would be nice to see more fit and muscular people in Greenwich, but you don’t see many bodybuilders around. I really hope I’m not the only bodybuilder in Greenwich.

Check out the Greenwich YMCA which is currently called, “The Battenkill Branch” but it’s owned by the YMCA. Look at it, here.

I love how the hours are from 5 in the morning to 10 at night during the week. That’s awesome. That’s for who work day jobs full time and people can get their workout done before work early in the morning or after work. Plus they’re open on weekends too. Best of all, the subscription is surprisingly cheap, $32.00 a month!

For the past year, I’ve been working out at the Fitness Center in Greenwich, a different gym, but the price is higher than the YMCA and the hours are less. I haven’t been working out at the gym because I’ve been waiting for the YMCA to open. The Y will open this coming Wed, and I will go to their open house next Sat. to check out their weight room.

This is pretty exciting news.

Studying music theory continues…

I now totally understand how the “CAGED” system works. You can play scales over chords, just by using that. I learned those 5 patterns of the major scale and put them together, so I can play them  up and down the neck, all over the fretboard. Whatever key the song is in, you can use the “caged” system. It’s just like any scale. All scales uses the caged system, not just the major. With this book, I’m learning through, I am now reading about chord harmony and triads. How chords and triads work with the 1,3,5 progressions. Learning riffs and licks with triads. Simple stuff to learn. The key to getting good at lead guitar and improvisation is learning music theory. This is pretty fun stuff to learn.

I’ll be ordering Jim Gillette’s “Vocal Power” DVD from Metal Method company this week ’cause I’ve also been looking into learning to sing better like I said before. As you can see, I’m learning to improve both guitar and vocal to a more professional level.

Happy New Year!!

Well Happy New Year to all readers!

What did I do last night? Nothing. Just stayed home and played, “Call of Duty: Black Ops” until the Ball Drop. I don’t party on New Year’s Eve anymore. I used to, but I think I’m getting too old for that partying shit. I don’t party anymore. Just boring and stupid.

What are some things that will happen this year in 2011? I will continue fitness and bodybuilding throughout the year. It’s a life long commitment. I’ll never give it up. This year I will try to find ways to beef up my chest, and try to make my pecs more defined. They are slowly getting better as my pecs are slowly becoming more visible as you can see in the latest pics. Look like training the pecs for a strict one day a week, really works. I really want the muscular physique so badly, but I’m just taking my time. I just feel proud of what I have now.

On with the music, I plan to try and get better at guitar. Play more professionally. Get better at ear training, improvisation, music theory, scales & modes, etc. I really want to get better and it’s time to be called a real musician here. I’m doing the best I can to become a better guitar player. I am getting a little better too. I’ve been learning through some instructional books, some more intermediate and advanced stuff. I also hope to write more songs for a new demo CD, get a band going and start recording some full band tracks hopefully. I will try to get back out to playing live shows again. Hopefully a Brock comeback to local music will happen this year, it’s in the planning stages though. Just little baby steps.

Hope everyone had a safe New Year’s Eve last night.

Happy Holidays to all readers!

James Brown says, Happy Holidays to all! The Godfather of Soul died 4 years ago today. It was a good day for me. Got some fitness equipment for gifts. A new bicycle, an iron gym, and a Dyna Flex hand grip. For entertainment, I got some movies on DVD: 5 Harry Potter films and “Predators”. Also got the new “Gran Turismo 5” videogame for the PS3 and a few other little things.

Hope all is having a nice holiday today!

Brock’s Top 10 newstories of 2010!!!

So here it is. My choices for the top 10 news stories of 2010. These are the news stories that I either find the most interesting, controversial or caught the most attention in this blog site. Here is the list below.

  1. Fans get together to support Conan O’ Brien and protest against NBC – In the beginning of the year, fans of Conan O’ Brien decided to get together online and in person in the real world to help stick up for their hero. A fan created that poster pictured above and started a facebook campaign to do rallys in NYC and Los Angeles to protest against NBC. The rally’s were such a success, that Conan himself responded to their support by going to the rally’s himself in return. Conan obviously has a new show on TBS aired every night at 11 p.m. This news story makes no. 1, ’cause I too am Conan’s big fan.
  2. Michael Douglas announced throat cancer – Earlier in the year, actor Michael Douglas announced big news that shocked the world that he has throat cancer. I certainly hopes he fights this. My heart goes to him and his family. Feel better, Michael!
  3. Actor Dennis Hopper dies – Such a shame he’s gone. He’s been a favorite actor of mine for a long time. I’ve always admired his work.
  4. Former child star Corey Haim dies – Another sad loss this year.
  5. Comic legend Leslie Neilsen dies – Another sad loss this year, an actor I’ve always respected.
  6. Zack Snyder hired to direct the next Superman flick – This news came out of no where, it should be no surprise to anybody but Zack being picked created a lot of controversy. Honestly, I think it’s the right choice and looking forward to seeing how Zack is going to make the next Superman flick.
  7. The Who plays the Superbowl – A child abuse organization desperately tried to get the Who off the Superbowl because of Pete Townshend’s child pornography arrest. Well the organization failed. The NFL was smart not to listen to them but were committed for the Who to play the Superbowl. The Who played the gig with no problems.
  8. Megadeth’s, Dave Mustaine buries the hatchet with Metallica and Slayer to play the Big 4 shows in Europe – Dave Mustaine finally decided that holding long grudges is old and tiresome. He had a change of heart with both Metallica and Slayer which he have been feuding with both bands for years. The feuds are officially over and done with. No more drama. It’s now back to good times and good music! METAL! \m/
  9. Metal legend, Ronnie James Dio dies – A sad loss that shocked the world of music. Ronnie was a great talent and he will be missed. He died young. Gone too soon.
  10. Soundgarden returns – Seattle grunge legends, Soundgarden returns this year. It all started with Tom Morello reuniting the band TAD at a small club in Seattle, and that’s what inspired the Soundgarden reunion. Soundgarden already played a few gigs at small clubs instead of arena shows. No word if the band plans on sticking together for a new record and full time tour but all we can do is cross our fingers on that.

That’s all! Enjoy!

Best Movies of 2010 list will be coming sometime after Christmas…

The reason I haven’t done the “Best Movies of 2010” list yet, is because there is still more movies coming out this month in theater, I still want to see. I’ve just seen, “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of Dawn Treader” yesterday afternoon and it was good, but definitely not the best of the year, that film will probably make the top 10 somewhere though. Other movies coming out this year, I need to see are, “The Fighter” which I will see next week before Christmas. After Christmas, I’ll try to go see, “Tron: Legacy”, “Black Swan”, and “True Grit”. I’ll try my best to see all those before they stop playing in theater. They’ll be playing in theater for a long while since they are successful movies, so I have plenty of time to see them.

Plus, there are still 2010 movies on DVD that I still haven’t seen yet, like “Toy Story 3”, “Knight and Day”, “Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World”.

I’ll try to catch up and then I’ll make my “Best Movies of 2010” list, probably sometime at the end of December.

Later today, I plan on doing a “Top 5 Best News Stories List” that I do every year.
