Report: “Dead Island” video game to become a live action film…

The controversial video game trailer, “Dead Island” which is a zombie apocalypse first person shooter video game and also a role playing game, hit the web last Thursday and the trailer already became a huge internet sensation. The game quickly became the most anticipated game for this year.

The trailer just hit the web a few days ago, and the game haven’t even came out yet, already, Sean Daniels and Union Entertainment are quickly gearing up for a live action movie adaptation for the big screen. The company’s already acquired the rights to the film years ago. There is no script and no director yet, they still need to get together talent packages and story lines to get a screen deal.

See the report here at, Deadline.

After the popularity of the Walking Dead TV series, prepare for more zombies in the entertainment business. That’s okay though. I’m more of a huge fan of zombies than vampires and werewolves. Zombies are my favorite monsters.

I saw the game trailer to “Dead Island” too, and I immediately became sold myself, so I will definitely pick up the game when it comes out later this year. The game looks like a blast to play.

RIP: Guitar Hero 2005 – 2011

Activision, the makers of the popular video game franchise, “Guitar Hero” announced the shocking news today that they have officially killed, the “Guitar Hero” franchise. The very first “Guitar Hero” game made it’s debut in 2005 for the Playstation 2. The game became an instant hit, they’ve made 5 more Guitar Hero games after that. They also made stand alone, “Guitar Hero” games where famous artists got their own game such as: Metallica, Aerosmith, and Van Halen. There was also “DJ Hero” and “DJ Hero 2”. “Guitar Hero” have been making the news for years and the games goal was that they were hoping that kids would be inspired to pick up a real guitar. Guitar legend, Slash, have always been a huge part of the game, being a character in “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock”. The reason for retiring all “Guitar Hero” projects is because of low video game sales, plus they want to move on to better opportunities and other projects.

Read more on the story, here.

I only own three Guitar Hero games. “Guitar Hero III”, “Guitar Hero: Metallica” and “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith”. I used to think Guitar Hero was cool but got tired of it fast. Ah well, at least the video game industry still have the Rock Band franchise, so I’m sure the Rock Band company is happy, more sales for them. Maybe this will get kids to pick up a real guitar now.

Game Review: Call of Duty “Black Ops”

So I’ve been playing, “Call of Duty: Black Ops” a lot lately. I’ve became addicted to it, quickly. Not sure when I’ll stop playing this game, lol. I’ve played the “campaign” storyline game. I was really impressed with it. The new “Call of Duty: Black Ops” game is getting a lot of negative reviews, because they claim the storyline is boring, the haters claim that the action and graphics is pretty much the same, but I disagree. I find nothing wrong with the game at all. I personally find it the perfect Call of Duty game all around.

I would like to take the time to defend the game, on why I think it’s the best Call of Duty game ever made. The story takes place during the Cold War in the 1960’s. The story focuses on the CIA’s Special Activities Division, Studies and Observation Groups. These soldiers go on missions around the globe, such as the Ural Mountains in Russia, Cuba, Loas, and Vietnam. It mainly focuses on the story about a Russian experiment, called Nova. 6, which is a dangerous plague set out to kill people.

In the game, it opens with SAD/SOG Alex Mason, who is a soldier you play. He is found strapped in a chair, in a room with television screens all over. He is in a room, not knowing where he is and he doesn’t know who his captors are. The missions in the game are flashbacks from the past, leading up to explain how Private Mason got held captive in that room. In that room, there are numbers flying everywhere. Giving you clues on something of what’s ahead. In the story, President John F. Kennedy was brought into this. Yes, JFK is an actual character in the game. And they showed actual and real Kennedy footage in the game too. Kennedy wants to assasinate a villain name Dragovich, so a soldier name Dreznov brainwashes Mason to go and hunt down Dragovich, before Dragovich assasinates President Kennedy.

You see, I really liked the storyline. While the storyline might be a little silly for some, the way I look at it. It’s a very serious storyline, that is very political focusing on President JFK. I see this game as a homage and tribute to JFK. When the games over, you can actually play President Kennedy and kill zombies in the White House, which is crazy but fun. While the Call of Duty: Black Ops, “campaign” storyline is mostly fiction, of course, there is also some real life history thrown into it. The storyline kept you hooked to the end.

I als played the Zombie online play, which you team up with three other people online to kill zombies in other maps. The zombie game is a blast. You start off with fighting a few zombies at a time, and a whole bunch more will come out after a few rounds. It’s actually pretty challenging to play.

As for the regular multiplayer, it is pretty much the same as the other COD games except the maps are different, the weapons and there are a lot more camping spots. “Camping” means, hiding out and wait until another player walks by so you can get ready to kill. I know everyone hates camping in first person shooter games for online play, but they do make hiding spots for a reason, right? I find nothing wrong with the multiplayer. Server works for me fine. I never got kicked out and the connection was perfectly fine.

Therefor, I’m pretty happy with “COD: Black Ops”, it’s an excellent game. I don’t know what the haters and critics are talking about. I’m going to play this for a while longer, then I’ll move on to the new, “Gran Turismo 5”.

Yes, I am planning on buying “DC Universe Online” and “Dead Space 2” as well.

There are two great games I want to get for the month of January. These might be my first two games for the year of 2011. “DC Universe Online” finally came out this week, I might go to Best Buy to pick the game up this weekend. I’ve been looking at “DC Universe Online”, it’s an online role playing game to play any superhero or villain you want. Looks like a blast to play, the game is getting a lot of positive feedback, so I’m definitely gonna get it.

Of course, I will get “Dead Space 2” which comes out Jan. 25th at the end of this month.

The game I’m currently playing now, is “Call of Duty: Black Ops”. After I beat this game, I will play “Black Ops” online for a long while. Then I’ll move on to, “Gran Turismo 5”, the new car racing game. I love video gaming. It’s one of my favorite hobbies to do. It’s a great way to relax when you’re not playing guitar or working out. At this time of year, is a great time to play video games after all the snow storms we’ve been getting and stuff.

Report: Tomb Raider trilogy being re-released for the PS3 in HD on March 22nd, 2011!!!

I am very excited for this news. I’m such a huge Tomb Raider fan, that’s another why I got the PS3 since the Tomb Raider series are for Playstation only. Crystal Dynamix, announced they will re-release the new Tomb Raider trilogy: “Tomb Raider: Legend”, “Tomb Raider: Anniversary” and, “Tomb Raider: Underworld”. They will be re-released in HD versions. The Tomb Raider trilogy will hit stores on March 22nd, in 2011.

More on it, here.

I’ll definitely be buying the new trilogy. Even though I already own, “Tomb Raider: Underworld” and played it, I want to see what that game will be like in HD. I never got to play the older Tomb Raider games and I’m glad I’ll get to soon.

I never played the classic Tomb Raider games from the PS1, but you can download the classics from the PSN Store which I will do soon. I love Lara Croft. Not just for the video game character, it’s just that these games are so fun. I love solving puzzles and things like that.

I also think, the reason they are re-releasing the entire trilogy is because this could be a hint that they have plans for a Tomb Raider 4??? Probably.

The official Dead Space facebook page, reports that the demo for “Dead Space 2” is available for download for Xbox live and for the Playstation Network later at 4 p.m. today.

As a huge fan of the “Dead Space” game, I’m really looking forward to the second one. These games are amazing. They are dark, creepy and the gameplay is such a blast. I’ll be downloading the demo later this evening for the PS3, looking forward to trying it out! I know I’m going to like it.

Cool Video: “Resistance 3” trailer hits the internets along with gameplay footage!!!

I’m a big fan of first person shooter games. I love the Resistance series. The third installment, “Resistance 3” looks absolutely mind blowing. Notice how in the game, they use real actors instead of CGI animation for the cut scenes. I think this is the first game to use real actors to make it seem like a real movie, so this game has big potential to start a new revolution in video gaming. This game is gonna be huge. The gameplay looks like a fucking blast, and I can’t wait! Lots of great games coming out for 2011! I love the PS3. I got the PS3 for a reason. Sure, I could have gotten the Xbox or the Nintendo Wii, but I think those systems don’t have good choices for games. I think the PS3 is the best game console out now. I will always be a PS3 guy for life.

Speaking of first person shooters, I finally got my copy of “Call of Duty: Black Ops”. I know Christmas is just around the corner, but I couldn’t resist this game. I’ll start, “Black Ops” soon. The game I’m currently playing now is “Gran Turismo 5: Prologue” the old car racing game, ’cause I’m probably gonna get the new, “Gran Turismo 5” game sometime.

Enjoy this trailer. It’s badass.

Cool Video: Batman “Arkham City” trailer finally arrives!!!

The Video Game Awards debuted the new Batman “Arkham City” video game trailer. I’m very impressed. The trailer doesn’t show game play footage yet, just cut scenes from the game. If Dr. Hugo Strange is the main villain for “Arkham City”, then he won’t be the main villain for Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight: Rises”. This is probably where the Dr. Hugo Strange rumor came from, it came from this video game. I think Black Mask could possibly be the main villain for Chris Nolan’s, “Dark Knight: Rises”.

Back at this video game, I can’t wait for it. I thought the first game, “Arkham Asylum”, was just incredible and I can’t wait for more Batman in video gaming. I’m sure the internet will release game play footage from “Arkham City” very soon. For some reason, game play footage haven’t been released online yet, they are being secretive about the game play. I guess the game makers don’t want to spoil surprises ’cause Batman might have some new attacks and new moves for the new game when fighting goons.

This is a great trailer! I’m definitely picking this game up when it comes out for sure!
