When Metallica releases their upcoming follow up to “Death Magnetic”…

After all the negative feedback Lou Reed & Metallica have been getting for “Lulu”, everybody wants Metallica to release their true Metallica album. The follow up to “Death Magnetic”. Metallica is currently recording their next album, by themselves, with no collaborations.

When Metallica releases their next album, everybody will probably talk shit about that too. Everybody wants Metallica to do a true Metallica thrash metal album, but when they do, people will always find something to hate on them for. Like I said before, no matter what Metallica does in their music career, it makes them badguys.

Metallica tries their best to give what the fans want. They brought the speed metal genre back with “Death Magnetic”, because everyone’s been begging for it, after their flop with, “St. Anger”.

This is why I wish James Hetfield would write his own autobiography. He could write it as a way to defend Metallica, a book where he can clear everything of what the band did over the years. I wish he would write his own book ’cause it seems that most metal icons are writing memoirs these days.

When Metallica do release their follow up to “Death Magnetic”, don’t be surprised if they could stay away from the speed metal thing again. Keep in mind, that Metallica has always sounded different every album. I don’t think their next album will be another “Death Magnetic”, they will probably change their sound and style again. Metallica playing with Lou Reed, might change the way they play a little bit.

I’m interested in what they’re next album is going to sound like. Hopefully it will be heavy and thrashy. The point of this post is that they could piss everyone off again with their next album.

I’m a true Metallica fan ’cause I appreciate every album they do. Yes, I even like “Load”, “Reload”, and “St. Anger”. Metallica can’t please everyone. They’re still the kings no matter what you think of ’em.

Report: Lars Ulrich speaks on “Death Magnetic” sound quality…

Lars Ulrich finally responded to fans complaining about the sound quality on the new Metallica album “Death Magnetic”. In fan reviews of the album, some complained that they can’t hear Rob’s bass, some say that the CD is too distorted and so on. Lars spoke with Blender magazine when asked about it.

Lars defended “Death Magnetic” sound by saying it’s no different when fans complained about the sound quality on “And Justice For All”. He goes on saying that the internet gives music listeners a voice and to be honest about bands. He then goes on saying “he can’t keep up with this shit”, clearly meaning that he doesn’t care about fan negativity toward Metallica.

He then says how he is so happy and proud that this new album “Death Magnetic” has got mostly positive feedback from the listeners. He explains that Metallica was so committed in getting the direction of the music of what Rick Rubin wanted. Rick Rubin was like a coach for the band and Metallica was doing everything Rick says. He also says that the band wanted “Death Magnetic” to be a live recording.

I’ve said before and I’ll say it again.

Fans are always looking for something new and different to complain about Metallica. Just negative people that do nothing but talk negative trash about Metallica.

But they can keep talking, the haters are part of the reason the band is so huge right now.

I find nothing wrong with the sound quality on “Death Magnetic”, it sounds great to me.

Report: Metallica’s gear setups for “Death Magnetic” here…

For you musicians out there like myself, Guitar World revealed the gear that Metallica currently uses for their live shows and I’m sure they use this stuff in studio for “Death Magnetic” as well.

Think Kirk Hammett likes to use all this high tech and really pricey gear? Well, looking at Hammett’s setup, it looks to me it’s pretty simple and basic. He has said in interviews many times, he likes to use simple gear settings and he also said he doesn’t use many effects. And looking at this, it’s the truth, it looks as though, Hammett doesn’t use too many pedals. He said he always used the Ibanez Tubescreamer all the time, it is his favorite pedal, I believe.

Hetfield uses all kinds of effects which is understandable since he is a rhythym player.

I picked up “Death Magnetic” today and I’m probably gonna be listening to it quite a lot.

Report: Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” no. 1 on Billboard 200…

As this is no surprise to me at all, Metallica’s new album “Death Magnetic” is no. 1 in the Billboard 200, the album sold 490,000 copies since last Friday the release date.

The album “St. Anger” released in 2003, sold 418,000 copies in it’s weekend.

Billboard Reports:

I’m going to the mall today on my day off of work to pick up the album on CD, I’ll get it at Best Buy of course ’cause the mall wouldn’t have it.

Kev

Edit for correction: I guess Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” is sold everywhere, it isn’t Best Buy exclusive, my bad. There must be a confusion of an article I’ve read somewhere. The Limited Edition of “Death Magnetic” is Best Buy exclusive but the regular album itself is sold in stores everywhere, just a little confusion that’s all.

Report: Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” leaks in French record store, but the band says they’re happy about it…

Blabbermouth is exclusively reporting that several copies of the new Metallica CD has already been sold to a French record store. Blabbermouth also shows pictures of the CD cover of the new album before it’s out.

However, Lars says he and the band have no problem with the album getting stolen and leaked. They seem to be happy that the new album is already quickly spreading around and they seem good about the promotion. Pretty funny considering that this is coming from a band who started a Napster battle years ago.

I’m sure the album will get leaked online very soon. According to Metallica’s website, they seemed to have a change of heart with leaked music on the internet, that’s why Metallica put up posts saying “Leak Central”.

Good for Metallica for not being angry about it! Yeah!

Thought: Will Metallica’s “Death Magnetic” silence the nay sayers?

Ever since the band Metallica’s new direction in their sound since Load/Reload/St. Anger, people have been hating on the band ever since. Although Metallica gets a lot of haters and people bashing the band, I think the never ending negativity toward the band is getting extremely old.

I am predicting that once “Death Magnetic” is released September 12th, I think that album will finally give Metallica the respect they deserve.

I’ve heard the two new Metallica songs from the album “The Day That Never Comes” and “My Apocalypse”, and both songs are very well done. It sounds like Metallica again.

But I wouldn’t badily judge their new stuff until the whole album comes out. I think this could possibly be the band’s best album since the Black album. I just wish the haters would catch the band a break and just wait for the album to come out and then they can bash the band all they want. That’s the thing, you know, I don’t think people will bash the band anymore after the album is released because this will be the Metallica album that people have been dreaming of for a long time.

The band is releasing songs off the album early on their website because they want feedback from the public and so far the feedback of their new stuff have been really positive feedback. Definitely a big step from “St. Anger”.

Metallica will be big again like they were in the 80’s and early 90’s. “Master of Puppets” will always be the band’s best album ever made but if lucky enough “Death Magnetic” can be right behind it. The album “Death Magnetic” comes out in two weeks and I’ll be buying it for sure. I will review the album of course.

Report: Metallica finishes “Death Magnetic”…

Metallica announced on the band’s website that the band is completed with their 9th studio album “Death Magnetic”, it’s all mixed and mastered, it’s ready to go! The album was produced by the legendary Rick Rubin and it was recorded in three different studios: Sound City Studios, Shangri La Studios, and the HQ studio that the band owns themselves.

The first single “The Day That Never Comes” will be released sometime this month (I’m sure that song will be released a little earlier on MissionMetallica.com).

The album is scheduled to release on a Friday, September 12th.

From the band’s official website:

Looking forward to hearing “The Day That Never Comes” this month. I’m sure the official video to that song will be posted in youtube and when it does, I’ll post it here.
