Dec. 8th will always be a very important day for music simply for these 4 geniuses. I love all 4 of them. They may be gone but the music is not forgotten.
Like the title says as of today Dec. 8th is a day of remembrance of 4 important musicians in the music industry who inspired and changed us all over the years. These are musicians who are having birthdays today and having death anniversaries.
The Birthday musicians are Jim Morrison (Born: Dec. 8th, 1943) and Gregg Allman (Born: Dec. 8th 1947).
The Death Anniversary musicians are Dimebag Darrell (who passed 15 years ago today) and John Lennon (who passed 39 years ago today).
All 4 of these musicians were definitely important to my life so I’ll never forget any of them. Gregg Allman passed a few years ago so now he joins these men in heaven.
I’m a huge Doors fan, a huge Allman Bros. fan and a huge Pantera fan. Of course, I listened to a lot of Lennon’s solo stuff too.
Dec. 8th is always an important day of music because of these guys and I think they are the Mt. Rushmore of music for sure.
Dec. 8th is always an important day of the music industry. Why? It’s because this day is the Anniversary Deaths of John Lennon and Dimebag Darrell and the birthday of Jim Morrison.
John Lennon wasn’t my favorite Beatle but he was still a legend and we should never forget what happened to him. We should never forget what happened to Dimebag. We should never forget Jim Morrison either.
I always honor these guys every Dec. 8th and would keep doing it every year. They were very important to music. Always remember that.
I’ll never forget the day when it was announced that Dimebag was shot and killed at a concert 13 years ago. Has it really been 13 years? Still feels like yesterday for some weird reason. I love Dimebag and I love me some Pantera too. I was bummed when he left us and still am. Dimebag was a talented metal guitarist.
RIP Dimebag Darrell who was the guitarist of metal bands, Pantera and DamagePlan passed suddenly 12 years ago today. I’ve always been a DImebag fan long before he passed. Here’s my favorite Pantera song.
10 years ago today, we lost one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time, Dimebag Darrell. Dimebag was shot three times while performing onstage with his band, Damageplan.
I love Pantera myself. I only have a few of their albums in my CD collection but I should get more of their music. Dime was a genius guitar player and he was a sad loss in the music industry.
Paying my respects to three legendary musicians today on this Dec. 8th. RIP to Dimebag Darrell and John Lennon. Happy Birthday to Jim Morrison of the Doors!
3 important musicians who were an inspiration to me as well.
In honor of Dimebag’s 7th year Anniversary death, I thought it would be cool to name 5 of my favorite Pantera songs of all time. I’ve always loved this band and Dime has been one of my favorite guitarists for years.
Here are my favorite Pantera tunes:
Cemetery Gates – It’s a beautiful song. Everything about the song is perfect. The guitar playing, and Phil’s voice is very heartfelt in this tune. Love this song too much.
Cowboys From Hell – Another one of my favorite Pantera tracks. Powerful guitar riffs, vocals are great. Just a perfect metal song. These guys certainly knew how to sound true metal.
Walk – It’s just a tight as hell tune. One of their best radio singles of theirs.
Revolution Is My Name – Another one of their best radio singles, this song makes you want to get angry and break stuff.
Planet Caravan – I’ve always loved their cover of this Sabbath tune. It’s a really good rendition and a hard song to cover. Only Pantera could do it, and they made it their own song.
Enjoy and RIP Dime.
