Finally saw “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” last night… very good… I was impressed… they did it justice for sure…

So Ghostbusters 3 is finally here but instead of calling it “Ghostbusters III”, they didn’t want a number instead giving it a subtitle: “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”. The third Ghostbusters movie was in the works since the early 90’s but it took a long time to make due to script re-writes, Bill Murray not being interested and then the death of Harold Ramis caused a lot of problems so we had to wait a lot longer for the third film. So now the third film is finally here, I bought the BluRay since I didn’t get the chance to see the film in theater an watched it last night.

While the movie was a bit predictable and things I’ve been saying about the film turned out to be exactly right, I thought it turned out really great. I was impressed with Jason Reitman, he really did it justice and did it for the fans like he was saying since the beginning.

This is not gonna be the last Ghostbusters movie ’cause to me, it’s looking like it’s gonna be an ongoing franchise… the ending seems to have left open for more. This is a passing of the torch kind of movie, just a new introduction. The original Ghostbusters, Ray, Peter and Winston weren’t in it that much but that’s because it was a re-introduction of the original Ghostbusters… but they still got it and Ray, Peter and Winston haven’t changed a bit even though they’re a bit older now.

The question you have to ask is this, i thiss the last time Ray, Peter and Winston will star in a “Ghostbusters” movie? From the looks of things, no. I would think they would star in a few more ’cause those new kids are getting trained as new “Ghostbusters” so they will need mentors, ya know? Those kids need to be taught how to become “Ghostbusters” by the originals… Ray, Peter and Winston so they’ll probably be around in the next one to teach them how to catch ghosts. So I would think in the next movie G4, Ray, Peter and Winston will be in it a lot more ’cause those kids will need ’em.

I’m thinking the next plot for the next movie is that the new kids in Ghostbusters goes to NYC, go to the Ghostbusters firehouse where the 3 originals would teach the kids everything they did in the past and of course, I’m sure Ray, Peter and Winston will teach Phoebe and Trevor more about Egon which they need to know more about. To me “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” was just leading up to the next film.

I did like “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” a lot and was impressed with it so I’m definitely looking forward to G4. “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” was also a beautiful tribute to Harold and I think Harold would have been proud of the film himself. I watched “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” on Harold’s anniversary passing so it was good timing. He was a talented man, though, I was definitely a fan of his myself. I was bummed too when he left us.

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” was great. Definitely recommended if you’re a fan.

“Ghostbusters: Afterlife” trailer #2 gets dropped this week and so far, film looks very promising!

The original plan for Ghostbusters 3 was that Dan Aykroyd wanted to reunite the 4 Ghostbusters characters: Ray Stantz, Dr. Venkman, Egon and Winston but the only problem with that now is that obviously Harold Ramis passed away.

Dan’s been saying ever since they’ve been talking about it that this is gonna be a passing of the torch kind of story. They wanted young kids and a girl to be the new Ghostbusters with the originals teaching them. As you can see they’re committed to keeping that story here despite Harold Ramis passing away.

In this trailer, they’re letting you know that they haven’t forgotten about Harold ’cause they gave him a nice tribute by showing him with the original Ghostbusters in a photo and playing the old Ghostbusters commercials they did.

They are definitely bringing back everybody from the first two films with the exception of Rick Moranis who turned it down which is a bummer. I was hoping he would come back as Louis Tully ’cause it would have been awesome, he was a funny character.

Other than that, this film looks very good. I’m probably gonna see it for sure.

The way the plot is looking for “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” is that there are these kids that are looking for the original Ghostbusters and they want to learn how to catch ghosts since they’ve been finding their old equipment and finding Ecto 1 on their own. The town has been taken by ghosts again and the kids want to fight them but they don’t really know how so they want to try and find Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman and Winston Zeddemore. Hoping they could teach them. They find out that Egno Spengler died to explain Harold’s real-life passing but the surviving Ghostbusters, the ones that are left are still around… but they want nothing to do with ghost catching anymore. Ray, Peter and Winston moved on.

I remember a point where Dan Aykroyd said originally the 4 ghostbusters moved on to have all kinds of problems in life and from the looks of the trailer, looks like he’s staying true to that idea. When Ray Stantz picked up the phone toward the end of the trailer and says, “We’re closed”, he sounds like an angry old man which is how he’ll appear to be in the movie. He’ll no longer be this fast talking funny man like he was in the first two films. Peter and Winston will be different too, I bet.

Annie Potts aka Janine the crazy secretary lady makes an appearance in the trailer as you can see.

The question is, will Ray, Peter and Winston suit up and start fighting ghosts again in the film? My guess is that it’s an absolute yes. They’ll be teaching the kids how to catch ghosts so they have to. Ray, Peter and Winston will refuse at first ’cause they want nothing to do with that life anymore but the kids will keep begging and begging so at some point in the movie, they ended up helping them. When Ray, Peter and Winston notice the kids are in danger that’s when they’ll suit up and put the proton packs back on. If Peter and Winston won’t be in ghost busting catching action again, then Ray Stantz will be the most likely. They need to do something to keep the fans entertained ’cause they’ll be expecting the original Ghostbusters to get back into action.

I’m sure Harold will get a nice big tribute in there somewhere… will Egon appear as a ghost? Possibly, we’ll have to wait and see what they’ll do. I’m sure they’ll do something with Egon in the film.

I love the Ghostbusters. Always been a huge fan but I refuse to watch that all-girl reboot directed by Paul Feig and I will never watch that one at all but “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” yes, definitely. I’ll be there in the theater for that one.

Original “Ghostbusters” cast returning to reprise their roles in Ghostbusters III but will Annie Potts and Rick Moranis return as well, hopefully?

Yes, pretty much the whole gang of the Ghostbusters cast are coming back for Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters III”. Yes, Sigourney Weaver is coming back as Dana Barrett, Bill Murray coming back as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd coming back as Dr. Ray Stantz and Ernie Hudson coming back as Winston Zeddemore.

Only Ghostbuster that can’t return is obviously Harold Ramis who was Dr. Egon Spengler and Harold passed away in 2014. I’m glad “GIII” is finally moving forward but it still won’t be the same without Egon, though.

Now I’m wondering if Annie Potts will return as the Ghostbusters secretary Janine and wonder if Rick Moranis would come out of acting retirement to reprise his role as Louis Tully. I can see Annie coming back maybe but Rick? We’ll have to wait and see on that one. It would be awesome if Louis Tully did come back ’cause that character was what helped make the first two Ghostbusters movie entertaining.

I didn’t see the all-female reboot directed by Paul Feig and I don’t plan on seeing that film at all. I haven’t even touched it and still haven’t seen it. Don’t want to.

Now that we have a more appropriate Ghostbusters movie in the works, I’ll probably see “Ghostbusters III” if the trailers look good enough.

I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan. Have been all my life. The first one and the original was one of my all-time favorite movies. The second one was pretty good but the writing could have been better.

I wonder what the plot for “Ghostbusters III” is gonna be about? It’s probably gonna be the same plot Dan Aykroyd has been talking about for years… a passing of the torch kind of story. It’s probably gonna be about Ray, Peter and Winston teaching up and coming recruits on how to be a Ghostbuster. I’m sure we’ll see Slimer back and I’m sure we’ll see Staypuff back, but I’m sure the film will have new ghosts and new villains.

I’m hoping Jason don’t disappoint with this film. I’m sure he’s getting a lot of help and advice from his father, Ivan Reitman.

Some of you may say that Ghostbusters shouldn’t continue without Harold but this is a new movie franchise and series. It’s probably gonna continue on and on kind of like James Bond, Star Wars and Star Trek. Ghostbusters is definitely a franchise along those lines.

Even though Sony is continuing on without Harold, I’m sure the film will give Harold a tribute in some way. I bet Egon’s ghost will make a cameo appearance if anything. That will probably happen.

Paul Feig announces that all-female “Ghostbusters” is all done filming, expect a trailer real soon!

Now filming of the all-female “Ghostbusters” has officially wrapped, you can expect them to put together a trailer soon. They may have finished all the scenes in the movie but they still have plenty of production work to do. They still need to add in all the CGI special effects as I’m sure there will be plenty of that, they need to add in all the ghosts and they need to record the musical score for the film.

As you see in the photo above that is Ernie Hudson aka Winston Zeddemore which he looks to be filming a scene with Leslie Jones. It looks like the three surviving original Ghostbusters will be in the film after all: Bill, Dan and Ernie… however, though, will Harold Ramis still be in the movie in some form? Will Egon make a cameo as a ghost? EIther way, I think Egon will get brought up in the film somehow ’cause they’re gonna wanna pay a tribute to Harold. I think it’ll be pretty cool if Egon would appear as a ghost.

I predict when the trailer comes out, I think more people will like it. I’m looking forward to seeing the trailer. Bring it on!

“Ghostbusters” reunion photo 30 years later… minus Harold Ramis…

If Harold Ramis was still alive, I’m sure he would have been in this photo instead of Sigourney Weaver. That’s probably why they put Sigourney in there since Harold is no longer with us.

Anyway… Bill, Ernie and Dan still look great as Ghostbusters. Why does the new Ghostbusters film have to be an all female re-boot when it should be these guys in the leading role? Maybe they’ll still be in it. Who knows. We’ll have to wait and see.

It really is too bad Harold is gone, though. Wish he could have lived longer so he could do this movie with them.

Kev

Ernie Hudson slams “Ghostbusters” re-boot… he says making it all female is not “Ghostbusters”…

Welp… look like we aren’t gonna see Winston Zeddemore in the new “Ghostbusters” ’cause the actor who plays the character doesn’t agree with the all-female Ghostbusters idea. Click the article above and read what have to say. He makes a lot of sense, I guess.

In my opinion, it isn’t Ghostbusters without the 4 original characters: Ray, Peter, Egon and Winston. Ray is probably gonna be in the new film in some form but if the other guys aren’t, then why call it Ghostbusters, ya know?

I can’t see Ghostbusters being good without Ivan Reitman helming it. I don’t think Paul has what it takes to put horror and comedy together.

I was on board of a new film until Harold died. After Harold died, I thought to myself, “A Ghostbusters film cannot be good without Harold being involved so they might as well trash the project”… of course, they didn’t. I’m predicting a box office bomber with this film… nobody’s gonna see this.

Bill Murray said an all-female Ghostbuster film is a good idea but Ernie decided to have some balls and have a different opinion on it. Kudos to Ernie for keeping it real!!! \m/

Kev

“Ghostbusters 3” will be an all female re-boot and will be directed by Paul Feig…

Due to the death of Harold Ramis, Ivan Reitman had to pull out of directing “Ghostbusters 3” out of respect for his friend. Now Sony have found a replacement director. Paul Feig will be directing the 3rd installment.

Dan Aykroyd will return as Dr. Ray Stantz but it’s looking like Bill Murray will not return. It is not yet known if Ernie Hudson will return as Winston Zeddemore.

As you will read in this article, the new Ghostbusters will be all female.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/ghostbusters-3-targets-paul-feig-723028

I actually dig the idea of all female Ghostbusters. What actresses will get the new roles???

I pick:

Michelle Rodriguez
Rhonda Rousey (UFC fame)
Jennifer Lawrence
Milla Jovovich

Sounds like a pretty good team to me!

Kev

Ivan Reitman is not directing “Ghostbusters 3” due to the passing of Harold Ramis…

Ivan Reitman, the man who directed the first two “Ghostbusters” has announced that he will not be directing the 3rd Ghostbusters due to the passing of his friend, Harold Ramis. Ivan feels that he cannot make the film without Harold because those two were an important part of the first two films. However, Ivan isn’t done with the film for good ’cause he is staying on as producer to help them. He’s going to help Sony replace a director. This is nothing personal for Ivan, he’s just doing this in honor of his friend, Harold. They still have a script for the film and Ivan hints that this movie will be more like the first one.

More on the story here:

http://www.deadline.com/2014/03/ghostbusters-movie-going-forward-without-ivan-reitman-sony/

Now that Ivan is not directing this and Harold is no longer with us, I have a feeling Bill won’t be doing it at all now. I still wouldn’t rule out Bill just yet though, he still has time to make a decision. I can’t blame Bill for being skeptical. He’s skeptical just like the rest of us. Bill just wants G3 to be just as good as the first one so he’s taking his time to make a decision which is good on him. Ya never know though, maybe Bill will have a change of heart and say “yes”. We’ll have to wait and see.

“Ghostbusters III” is still happening…

Look like Sony studios and Ivan Reitman are still committed to making “Ghostbusters III” despite the death of Harold Ramis. That’s okay. I’m all for them continuing on ’cause I’m pretty sure that’s what Harold would have wanted. He would have wanted them to move forward without him. They’ve been planning this movie for years and they just can’t cancel the project after all that hard work and money spent. Like the saying goes, “The show must go on”… the same for this film.

There is a final script written for this film but it’s gonna be re-written some due to Harold’s sudden passing. Welp, look like we’re gonna have a dead Ghostbuster in the film. Will Egon somehow make a cameo appearance as a CGI ghost? Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s what they’re going for.

The original Ghostbusters was only gonna be in this film briefly, anyways. This film was meant to pass the torch to younger Ghostbusters… that’s the idea for this film, I think.

Even though, Bill Murray has a part in “Ghostbusters III” it is still NOT yet known whether he wants in or not.

I know a “Ghostbusters III” is pretty debatable but I think a 3rd film deserves to happen. Give them a chance, ya know? “Ghostbusters 2” wasn’t a great film at all, and this trilogy deserves to end with a better film. I thought they did a great job with the video game. “Ghostbusters – The Video Game” was excellent stuff. I think they’ll do a good job with the 3rd film too.

Dan Aykroyd still loves the Ghostbusters. You can tell he has a lot of passion for this. He badly wants to get this movie made. Watch all of his interviews talking about Ghostbusters III. He’s pretty committed to this project too. With that being said, I would love GIII to happen. I’m intrigued on how they’re gonna pull this off.

Ghostbusters III, questions that needs answers…

While the original actors of Ghostbusters are aging, do you think they’ll still be able to play their characters well? If you played, “Ghostbusters – The Video Game” like I did, you’ll know that they still have what it takes to play their characters. They still have the voices down pretty well. If you don’t think they can, play the video game. You’d be surprised to hear yourself that they still got it. Even Bill Murray played Peter Venkmen well in the video game. I think they’ll do fine with the new film.

What I’m a little worried about is the script. I hope it won’t be another “Ghostbusters II”, that film was horrible. We need Slimer to return and hopefully Staypuff as well. As far as Vigo The Carpathian, I hope they don’t make him return ’cause that was a terrible villain.

We hope for a Ghostbusters film that is much like the first one. The first Ghostbusters film was a classic. I’ll always love that film so much. I’ll never get tired of it. What we need for “GIII” is a celebration of the first film. The Video Game did a pretty good job at that.

We want “GIII” to be scary as hell, along with the comedy mixed into it like the first one. We don’t want it to be a family film like the second movie was. I’m fine with the new young Ghostbusters taking over for III, I just want a good script and I want good casting with the young Ghostbusters.

Like I always say, I’m all for another Ghostbusters movies ’cause it deserves another film to close out the trilogy. There will probably be a new Ghostbusters trilogy after this for young Ghostbusters to take over and the original cast can retire after the 3rd movie.

Just like I hope Warner Bros. does a good job with Zack Snyder’s “Man Of Steel”, I hope Sony does a good job with “Ghostbusters III” as well.

Maybe the next film can be successful without Bill Murray, who knows. I’m not getting my hopes up. They need him. I’m sure Bill will respond to this soon, he’s just waiting for the right time ’cause he knows the media will be all over it. He’s making his careful decision and thinking things over. He may be a pain in the ass about it, but even Bill wants the next movie to be good like all of us. If you think about it, we are not alone, even Bill is worried about the next film.

I wish them luck on “Ghostbusters III”. Since they maybe start shooting next year, they’re going to start casting soon. We know for sure that Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver are returning…but we haven’t yet heard from Bill Murray and Rick Moranis. It would be great if everybody returns. Lets hope they make “GIII” a great film where we could all walk out of the theater with smiles on our faces.
