Original “Ghostbusters” cast returning to reprise their roles in Ghostbusters III but will Annie Potts and Rick Moranis return as well, hopefully?

Yes, pretty much the whole gang of the Ghostbusters cast are coming back for Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters III”. Yes, Sigourney Weaver is coming back as Dana Barrett, Bill Murray coming back as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd coming back as Dr. Ray Stantz and Ernie Hudson coming back as Winston Zeddemore.

Only Ghostbuster that can’t return is obviously Harold Ramis who was Dr. Egon Spengler and Harold passed away in 2014. I’m glad “GIII” is finally moving forward but it still won’t be the same without Egon, though.

Now I’m wondering if Annie Potts will return as the Ghostbusters secretary Janine and wonder if Rick Moranis would come out of acting retirement to reprise his role as Louis Tully. I can see Annie coming back maybe but Rick? We’ll have to wait and see on that one. It would be awesome if Louis Tully did come back ’cause that character was what helped make the first two Ghostbusters movie entertaining.

I didn’t see the all-female reboot directed by Paul Feig and I don’t plan on seeing that film at all. I haven’t even touched it and still haven’t seen it. Don’t want to.

Now that we have a more appropriate Ghostbusters movie in the works, I’ll probably see “Ghostbusters III” if the trailers look good enough.

I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan. Have been all my life. The first one and the original was one of my all-time favorite movies. The second one was pretty good but the writing could have been better.

I wonder what the plot for “Ghostbusters III” is gonna be about? It’s probably gonna be the same plot Dan Aykroyd has been talking about for years… a passing of the torch kind of story. It’s probably gonna be about Ray, Peter and Winston teaching up and coming recruits on how to be a Ghostbuster. I’m sure we’ll see Slimer back and I’m sure we’ll see Staypuff back, but I’m sure the film will have new ghosts and new villains.

I’m hoping Jason don’t disappoint with this film. I’m sure he’s getting a lot of help and advice from his father, Ivan Reitman.

Some of you may say that Ghostbusters shouldn’t continue without Harold but this is a new movie franchise and series. It’s probably gonna continue on and on kind of like James Bond, Star Wars and Star Trek. Ghostbusters is definitely a franchise along those lines.

Even though Sony is continuing on without Harold, I’m sure the film will give Harold a tribute in some way. I bet Egon’s ghost will make a cameo appearance if anything. That will probably happen.

Paul Feig confirms Sigourney Weaver is returning as Dana Barrett but what about Louis Tully???

Look like the original cast from the first two “Ghostbusters” will all be making cameos in the new all-female “Ghostbusters” film. Paul Feig, the director just dropped the big news that Sigourney Weaver will be reprising her role as Dana Barrett. Did Peter Venkman and Dana finally get married this time? It’ll be cool if that’s what they’re going for.

What about Louis Tully will he make a cameo too? Was Paul Feig successful at getting Rick Moranis out of retirement for this film? It could be possible but we’ll wait and see. Hopefully he did get Rick back. There can’t be a Dana Barrett without Louis Tully! Would be awesome to see Louis back.

Paul Feig was able to get Annie Potts back so that’s another hint that he maybe successful at getting Rick back:

Rick is probably coming back and it would be funny to see Louis return.

Btw, I love Paul’s response to the haters of this movie:

Neill Blomkamp’s “Alien” film may take place after “Aliens” (Alien 2), yes, this film will be for Sigourney to return as Ripley…

Neill Blomkamp gave us some pretty exciting news that his Alien film may take place after the second one which was directed by James Cameron. This film is gonna completely ignore “Alien III” and “Alien: Resurrection”. Blomkamp’s Alien film will be written for Sigourney to return as Ripley but it’s supposed to be a proper ending to that character so I take it they’re planning on killing Ripley off? HA! Way to give it away a little early, right?

Anyway, I’m looking forward to this film ’cause I’m such a huge fan of the Alien franchise.

Will Sigourney Weaver reprise her role as Ripley for Neil Blomkamp produced “Alien” film???

20th Century Fox has officially closed a deal with “District 9” and “Chappie” director Neill Blomkamp to develop the next “Alien” film. Blomkamp is not set to direct, he’s just the producer. Fox is still making the “Prometheus” sequel with Ridley Scott but it is not yet known if Scott will come back to direct the next “Alien” movie.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/18/new-alien-movie-confirm_n_6709748.html

It is not yet known whether or not Ripley will be in the next movie but Sigourney Weaver says she’s open to reprising her role that made her famous if Blomkamp will be directing it:

It is also not yet known if Blomkamp’s “Alien” movie will be a continuation from the earlier series or will it be another re-boot? I hope this isn’t another reboot and I’m hoping this will be an “Alien 5” continuing the story after “Alien: Resurrection”. We’ll have to wait and see.

I’m a huge fan of the Alien franchise. Love all 4 movies. I hope Sigourney reprises her role as Ripley ’cause I won’t see it if she doesn’t return.

I’ll always be a huge fan of the first two Alien flicks. 3 and 4 were good but 1 and 2 were the best.

“Ghostbusters” reunion photo 30 years later… minus Harold Ramis…

If Harold Ramis was still alive, I’m sure he would have been in this photo instead of Sigourney Weaver. That’s probably why they put Sigourney in there since Harold is no longer with us.

Anyway… Bill, Ernie and Dan still look great as Ghostbusters. Why does the new Ghostbusters film have to be an all female re-boot when it should be these guys in the leading role? Maybe they’ll still be in it. Who knows. We’ll have to wait and see.

It really is too bad Harold is gone, though. Wish he could have lived longer so he could do this movie with them.

First the Ghostbusters is going all female… now the Expendables going all female too???

At Cannes film festival, Avi Lerner the producer of “The Expendables” franchise revealed that he is planning an all-female Expendables that will be titled, “The Expendabelles”. He also said they are writing the final lines of the script and they should start shooting in the beginning of next year.

Stallone said he wants Sigourney Weaver to star as his on-screen wife and he wants her to lead, “The Expendabelles” group.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/sylvester-stallone-wants-sigourney-weaver-723193

What’s with the new all-female trend in Hollywood???

“The Expendabelles” sounds like a title of a low budget soft-core porn film, HA!!!!

An action movie with hot babes??? I’m all for that!

As for my dream casting of this movie how about: Rhonda Rousey, Gina Carano, Michelle Rodriguez, Scarlett Johansson, Milla Jovovich, Zoe Saldana, Rooney Mara, and Uma Thurman.

Why did I pick Uma Thurman??? Well she did some great action with the two “Kill Bill” movies so she might be a good addition to this.

It’s gonna be kind of tough for Sly and Avi to find tough looking chicks for an action flick. Those actresses I listed above would probably be the best choices.

If this movie doesn’t show boobs or legs, then this film would be worthless. Sex and action should go together for this one if they want it to work. Maybe that’s the whole idea???

Cool Video: “The Cold Light of Day” trailer is here!!!

The “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill is creating a lot of buzz in the movie industry lately. He starred in the epic Greek mythology movie, “Immortals”, which was a great film and here’s Henry next action movie. It’s called, “The Cold Light of Day”. The film also stars, Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver. This looks to be a fun action film even if it’s PG-13 rated. I guess you can add this film to the list of my most anticipated movies of 2012. I’m definitely there to see this movie.

See the trailer here at AICN.

BREAKING NEWS: Ridley Scott’s new “Alien” project finally revealed, it’s no prequel or a sequel but…

…it’s simply a standalone film. The name of the film is “Prometheus”, and this will be Ridley Scott’s first science fiction film since, “Blade Runner” starring Harrison Ford. In, “Prometheus”, Swedish actress Noomi Rapace is attached to star, Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron are in negotiations to play the leads as well. It’s an original story taken place in the same universe where the first “Alien” movie is in. Ridley hints that the film will be about the Alien’s DNA. Look like they are keeping the plot under wraps for now. Will we get a Sigourney Weaver cameo appearance?

See the report at, Deadline.

Film Review: Avatar

Starring: Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Zoey Saldana

Directed by: James Cameron

Just got back from seeing Cameron’s “Avatar”, here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: Sam Worthington plays a former U.S. marine named, Jake Scully, who is paralyzed from the waist down. He is stuck on a wheelchair for life. Jake is selected to participate in a science experiment that was held by the Marines, in the Avatar program, to replace his twin brother Tony, whose Avatar is compatible with him too.

Jake was ordered to travel to planet Pandora which is a planet that is full of unique life forms. On it, are these blue colored people called, the Na’vi, which are controlled by actual humans by experiment.

Instead of following orders of the Avatar experiment by the Marines, Jake becomes obsessively attracted with these Na’vi people and becomes part of them himself. He falls in love with a female, Na’vi named, Neytiri (Zoey Saldana). Now that Jake had betrayed the Marines…the Marines decides to destroy Pandora and it’s people, while Jake does his best to help the Na’vi people survive.

When movie critics and fans say that this movie is like a “live action video game”, I’m going to have to agree with them. It does seem like a “live action video game”, indeed. Pretty much the whole movie felt like a video game. When it comes to the action scenes, the hero needs to survive like a video game, when the action scenes get over with, it goes to a cut movie scene like a video game. It’s like that throughout the whole movie.

Especially the final fight scene at the end of the movie when Col. Quaritch (the film’s villain played by Stephen Lang) fights Jake Scully at the end of it. Quaritch gets into this huge robotic machine to fight Jake as the Na’vi. The robotic machine felt like it came from “Transformers” or the, “Metal Gear Solid” video games.

Is James Cameron a big video gamer himself? It seems that he is, ’cause it seems like he is borrowing a lot from action/adventure type of games. I felt like this movie was too much, “Terminator”, it definitely had a lot of “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi” in it, and too much, “Metal Gear Solid”.

Like usual, there is also a bit of romance in this movie ’cause everyone knows Cameron is a romance nut too.

I was most impressed with the film’s special effects and cinematography. I also loved the musical score and the action scenes were kind of fun. I must say that Christmas time was a bad time to release this, ’cause this was more of a summer movie. It is definitely a popcorn action fest.

Is it worthy for “Best Picture” of the Oscars? Definitely not. The writing needs to be better ’cause the plot was kind of cheesy. The acting of the cast was ok, but I am glad that Sigourney Weaver and Cameron reunited. This isn’t a cameo for Signourney, she is pretty much part of the lead, she was in the movie throughout. Michelle Rodriguez had a small role in the flick which was entertaining.

I can see this film winning Oscar awards for Special Effects and the Cinematography categories definitely. Other than that, the film was pretty good, exceptionally entertaining. It doesn’t make my top 5 best films of the year for 2009 though, I can tell ya that. This is nothing I would see again or buy on DVD. I did like the film though.

Cameron plans to make this a trilogy as he already confirmed for us online. It will definitely be a trilogy ’cause the ending left open for another film. I hope the sequels will be better.

Score for “Avatar” – *** 3 stars as in good

BREAKING NEWS: “Alien” prequel is officially greenlighted, Ridley Scott is confirmed to return!!!

Ridley Scott and Sigourney Weaver have both been talking to the internet for months now about bringing the “Alien” franchises back to the big screen. It looks like it’s actually happening for real this time! Twentieth Century Fox has greenlighted a prequel to the first “Alien” film, with Ridley Scott officially attached to direct. Ridley Scott was the director of the very first “Alien” film that starred Sigourney Weaver which became the most famous sci-fi/horror film of all times.

The story to the prequel is set before the first movie of course. It will be about a crew of people towing a ship back to planet Earth…then sent to investigate a signal near a planetoid.

Although Sigourney Weaver have spoken to online movie news websites about bringing the “Alien” franchises back, it is not known if she will return as the leading character of Ripley.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118006722.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Since this is a prequel, they would need a younger actress to play Ripley, and not Sigourney. Makes sense, to me. They can make Sigourney as Ripley as a small cameo, I would think. As long as they don’t make Sigourney’s cameo CGI, I’m all for it.

I wouldn’t support an “Alien” return to the big screen if anybody else directed it, but as long as Ridley is still doing it, I’ll be the first in line to see it in theater! Ridley is one of my favorite film directors. Love the guy’s work.
