Rick Moranis signs on to his first live action film in 23 years, he’ll return to the “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” film series…

This is the best news ever! It’s been 23 years since Rick Moranis hasn’t done a major role in a live action film ’cause he retired from Hollywood in 1997 to raise his kids. He also believed that he didn’t need to work much anymore ’cause he made so much money from his past films especially the first two “Honey I Shrunk the Kids/I Blew Up the Kid” which both of those films did well in the box office.

Rick is officially set to reprise his role as Wayne Szalinski in the 5th installment to the “Honey I Shrunk” series but this one will be considered a reboot and it will be simply titled, “Shrunk”. There were 4 Shrunk movies in the past and Rick starred in all 4 of them and he’s about to make a big return to the series. This is great news really and this is a perfect comeback film for Rick too. He hasn’t played the Wayne Szalinski character in many years but I’m sure he still got it.

Rick Moranis Closes Deal To Return To ‘Honey, I Shrunk The Kids’ Franchise With ‘Shrunk’ At Disney

Why did Rick finally agree to come back to Hollywood after all these years??? Well, I’m sure his kids are full grown adults by now and they are probably out there living on their own so Rick no longer needs to take care of them. Rick has time to get back into Hollywood. I’m sure he also feels that his Shrunk reboot can’t be made without him and I’m sure they made him an offer he can’t refuse.

This Shrunk reboot is gonna be a major big screen release, it won’t be a direct to video movie like the last one was.

I’m glad Rick is finally coming back ’cause he is a talented man. He’s been in so many good movies: “Ghostbusters 1 and 2”, “Spaceballs”, “Parenthood”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “My Blue Heaven”, etc.

He may not be returning for Ghostbusters but the Shrunk movie is a good choice.

Now lets hope Macaulay Culkin finally comes out of retirement soon…. you hear that Macaulay???

Original “Ghostbusters” cast returning to reprise their roles in Ghostbusters III but will Annie Potts and Rick Moranis return as well, hopefully?

Yes, pretty much the whole gang of the Ghostbusters cast are coming back for Jason Reitman’s “Ghostbusters III”. Yes, Sigourney Weaver is coming back as Dana Barrett, Bill Murray coming back as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd coming back as Dr. Ray Stantz and Ernie Hudson coming back as Winston Zeddemore.

Only Ghostbuster that can’t return is obviously Harold Ramis who was Dr. Egon Spengler and Harold passed away in 2014. I’m glad “GIII” is finally moving forward but it still won’t be the same without Egon, though.

Now I’m wondering if Annie Potts will return as the Ghostbusters secretary Janine and wonder if Rick Moranis would come out of acting retirement to reprise his role as Louis Tully. I can see Annie coming back maybe but Rick? We’ll have to wait and see on that one. It would be awesome if Louis Tully did come back ’cause that character was what helped make the first two Ghostbusters movie entertaining.

I didn’t see the all-female reboot directed by Paul Feig and I don’t plan on seeing that film at all. I haven’t even touched it and still haven’t seen it. Don’t want to.

Now that we have a more appropriate Ghostbusters movie in the works, I’ll probably see “Ghostbusters III” if the trailers look good enough.

I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan. Have been all my life. The first one and the original was one of my all-time favorite movies. The second one was pretty good but the writing could have been better.

I wonder what the plot for “Ghostbusters III” is gonna be about? It’s probably gonna be the same plot Dan Aykroyd has been talking about for years… a passing of the torch kind of story. It’s probably gonna be about Ray, Peter and Winston teaching up and coming recruits on how to be a Ghostbuster. I’m sure we’ll see Slimer back and I’m sure we’ll see Staypuff back, but I’m sure the film will have new ghosts and new villains.

I’m hoping Jason don’t disappoint with this film. I’m sure he’s getting a lot of help and advice from his father, Ivan Reitman.

Some of you may say that Ghostbusters shouldn’t continue without Harold but this is a new movie franchise and series. It’s probably gonna continue on and on kind of like James Bond, Star Wars and Star Trek. Ghostbusters is definitely a franchise along those lines.

Even though Sony is continuing on without Harold, I’m sure the film will give Harold a tribute in some way. I bet Egon’s ghost will make a cameo appearance if anything. That will probably happen.

Looks like we won’t see Louis Tully back in new “Ghostbusters” at all… oh well…

Rick Moranis wants to clarify to all of his fans that he’s not retired from Hollywood. He’s just very very picky of the projects he chooses. While he did take a long break from starring in big screen movies, he’s still worked in Hollywood sometimes like he did voice over work for a few animated films but that’s about all.

Paul Feig did try to get Rick to come back but Paul failed. Rick said no he wouldn’t do it and said it wouldn’t make sense.

Will we ever see Rick Moranis back on the big screen again? Keep in mind, Mel Brooks is developing a sequel to “Spaceballs” so maybe we’ll see the return of Dark Helmet. Now that would be cool. I hope we see Rick back on the big screen in a live action movie ’cause I’m a fan of his earlier work especially with “Ghostbusters”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”, “My Blue Heaven”, “Parenthood” and “Brewster’s Millions”. Rick is a great actor and talented. Hope we see him back on the big screen soon.

Mel Brooks says he’s writing “Spaceballs: The Search For More Money” sequel and I’m all for it!!!

Mel Brooks, the comic genius and legend appeared as a guest on Adam Carolla’s podcast show and Mel confirmed he’s writing the sequel to Spaceballs which is still gonna be titled, “The Search For More Money”.

This is pretty cool and I’m all for a “Spaceballs” sequel ’cause “Spaceballs” is one of my favorite comedies of all time. I do hope Rick Moranis comes out of retirement just for this one movie ’cause it’ll be awesome if he agreed to reprise his role as Dark Helmet. I’m sure Bill Pullman will return as Lone Star and Daphne Zuniga will return as Princess Vespa.

Of course, it isn’t possible for John Candy and Joan Rivers to return to their roles, though.

Hopefully, Rick agrees to return. It doesn’t hurt for him to do one last film?

Report: Rick Moranis confirms he’s returning as Louis Tully in “Ghostbusters 3″…

Rick Moranis did not do the voice overs of Louis Tully for “Ghostbusters – The Video Game”, but Rick has agreed to reprise his role for “Ghostbusters 3” live action film. Harold Ramis confirmed the news that Rick finally agreed to come back to Ghostbusters.

Although he said the original cast is coming back, there is still no word on whether or not Sigourney Weaver is returning because this article said nothing about her.

I’m sure we’ll hear from Sigourney soon on whether she wants in or not.

BREAKING NEWS: Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver refuses to voice for “Ghostbusters” video game….

While there is a “Ghostbusters” video game in the works right now, the original cast is coming back except for two important ones. Rick Moranis refuses to reprise his role as Louis Tully for the voice overs of the video game and Sigourney Weaver refuses to come back as Dana Barrett. Why is Rick Moranis refusing? Simply because he retired from the film industry and entertainment business. Rick felt that he made too much money from the “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” sequels that he no longer needs to work.

Sigourney Weaver herself hasn’t yet spoken out on why she isn’t doing the highly anticipated video game. “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” will be released for all game systems: Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.

More on it here:

This really blows that Rick and Sigourney won’t be in it. Shame on them since Louis and Dana were the most important part of the films. Sounds like Louis and Dana will be voiced by different actors now ’cause the game still must go on. At least Bill, Dan, Harold and Ernie are still doing it though.

I definitely will buy the video game when it comes out. It’s one of the main reasons I bought a PS3 for is for this game here. I have a feeling that “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” will take over the spotlight on “Grand Theft Auto IV”.
