Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters is my pick to induct Metallica into the Hall of Fame. It is probably the most likely pick.
I had others in mind like Pat Boone, Ozzy Osbourne, Rick Rubin, Jason Newsted, Dave Mustaine, etc. Yep, I had Mustaine in mind but then I figure Metallica wouldn’t want Dave to induct them. I’m sure Mustaine would go for it if he was asked but since the two have been feuding for over 20 years, I don’t think that’s what Metallica would want.
I’m betting my money that Dave Grohl would probably be the most likely choice.
Anyone else out there have any other choices?

Musicians being inducted in the Hall of Fame doesn’t have to be stricltly “Rock and Roll”. Madonna is rock and roll if you think about it, she’s a pop/rock artist so that’s make her somewhat rock. The Hall of Fame has been inducting similar artists like Madonna for years. Like Prince for example, he’s a pop/rock dance like artist too and he already got inducted.
As far as Run-DMC goes, they are not rock but they are rap/hip hop, but I can understand why the Hall of Fame would think of them as Rock because of Aerosmith “Walk this Way”, but Run-DmC has inspired rock musicians, that’s why they are eligible.
Be aware that there are many different genres of “Rock and roll”: metal, alternative rock, grunge rock, dance/pop/rock, country rock, blues rock, southern rock, etc.
Any genre of “Rock” is eligible for the Hall of Fame, not just strictly rock and roll.
Metallica attacked Napster years back, but that’s in the past. Let the past be the past and focus on the band’s future, that’s what this is all about, moving forward. The band have now got a change of heart toward internet piracy as the band don’t get angry at it anymore.
Metallica is a great band and they always will be. I’ve been a lifelong fan ever since I was a child. They made career mistakes, so what, every band does.
“Death Magnetic” is a huge step up of their career. Do yourself a favor, buy that album and your opinion on the band may change.

Sure, their gnome of a drummer sucks eggs and makes gruesome faces as he attempts to “play” drums. Sure, Hetfield’s over annunciating style of singing paved the way for a bunch of shitty singers like that douchebag from Creed. Sure, their concerts are sausage parties. The main thing is that they are SURVIVORS. You gotta be a survivor in this day and age- ain’t that right?
