Report: Jerry Garcia biopic coming to the big screen…

Truckin’ got my chips cashed in, keep truckin’ like the do dah man, together, more in less in line, just keep truckin’ on. Yes, a Jerry Garcia biopic, legendary main frontman of the Grateful Dead, is heading his way to the big screen. Albert Berger, Ron Yerxa and Eric Eisner will be producing and writer Topper Lillien has been signed to pen the script.

The film will focus on Garcia’s life in the Bay Area before he officially joined the Grateful Dead. The film will focus on his stint in the military, his life changing car accident and his music life before the Grateful Dead including when he first met Phil Lesh the bassist. Of course, the film will probably focus on his heavy drug use I would imagine.

The film will be adapted from the book “Dark Star” which is about the life of Jerry Garcia. Jerry Garcia died of a heart attack on Aug. 9th 1995.

Glad a Jerry Garcia biopic is finally happening. He deserves one.

Get Jeff Bridges to play Jerry Garcia!!!! Bridges would be perfect for Jerry! 🙂
