At Bonnarroo last night put on a huge huge surprise. Phish closed out Bonnarroo weekend by inviting Bruce Springsteen himself to the stage to jam with Phish on a few tunes. It was just Bruce himself, not the rest of the E Street Band. They played “Mustang Sally” cover, “Bobby Jean”, and “Glory Days”.

We all know Bruce loves jam sessions with other famous musicians at the end of concerts. We’ll definitely get a Bruce and Neil Young jam at “Glastonbury” probably, maybe the guys in Blur will jam with them too.
See the video of Bruce and Phish performing “Mustang Sally” below. Why would they play a popular bar band song at a huge show? Very weird.

BROOOOOOCE! Bruce loves all that gutbucket bar band stuff. It’s important to remember that Phish started out that way at Nectors in Burlington, VT. It may be one of the few common ground songs they both could do.
Yeah, Springsteen probably doesn’t know how to play any Phish songs, so that’s probably why they agreed to do a cover and a few of Springsteen’s songs.
Bruce Springsteen started out playing in bars too back in his hey days.
