Could Phish get a slot at Woodstock 2019 at Watkins Glen??? Me thinks yes!!!

Michael Lang said in that Rolling Stone interview that he already has the Woodstock 2019 lineup already booked. Will the band Phish get a slot at Woodstock 2019 as part of their summer tour they just announced? Woodstock 2019 is scheduled for Aug. 16th, 17th and 18th.

If you look at Phish’s tour schedule you’ll see that Phish doesn’t have those dates: Aug 16th, 17th and 18th listed at all. Could it be that Phish will soon add Woodstock to their tour schedule once they get the permission to announce it?

Check it out:

It’s a possibility that Phish may get a slot at Lang’s Woodstock 2019 so we’ll have to wait and see. Phish got a headlining slot at this year’s Bonnaroo festival and they are playing 3 sets at that festival. Don’t be surprised Phish could be playing at Woodstock this year.

I know the band Phish isn’t for everyone but I fucking love them still. A lot of fans turned their backs on Phish over the years but I never have. I’ve always loved Phish and still find them a phenomenal band. I love Trey Anastasio as I think he’s a great guitarist and great songwriter too. He’s also one of the best live performers so I don’t understand why people hate Phish. I think they are great and I plan on collection all of their studio albums once I complete the rest of the Grateful Dead’s collection of studio albums.

Yeah, I am a huge fan of the jam band genre. I love all sorts of music. I listen to everything pretty much.

Phish, I don’t understand all the hate toward this band… I’ve always loved them!

Part of the reason why I love Phish so much is ’cause they are a fun and unpredictable band to listen to. Many fans turned their back on Phish and stopped supporting them. They are now one of the most hated jam bands out there now and I can’t understand why. To me they are just a regular band just like all bands. Playing music ’cause they love it. They have fun doing it. That’s one of the reasons why I respect that band ’cause of their passion for music and they do show it when they get on that stage.

I finished listened to Phish’s studio albums. Their entire catalog of albums I listened to this week. While I enjoyed listening to Phish’s studio albums, it’s even more fun listening to them live, though. Either listening to them live in person or listening to their live albums is more fun ’cause why? Phish is more of a live band than a studio band. That’s why a lot of Phish songs on their studio albums are pretty short but when they play their songs live, they extend them into an improvised jam. They never play their songs the same way twice either. That’s another reason I respect them so much.

Another reason I respect them ’cause all the guys in Phish are very talented musicians. I respect the talent of each member: Trey, Mike, Jon and Page. Phish has always been the same 4 guys. They never had any lineup changes.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Phish and still love them now. I’ve never turned my back on them: What are my favorite albums by Phish? While I do like them all a lot… my favorites would have to be “Rift”, “Hoist”, “Farmhouse”, “Lawn Boy” and their latest record, “Fuego” is an amazing record. I would say “Fuego” is their best record.

Phish is one band that deserves an induction in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and it’s kind of crazy they aren’t in yet.

Love Phish or hate them all you want to but this band is very successful. They still sell out arena shows everywhere. I respect the hell out of this band.

Maybe part of the reason people hate them is the drugs which is understandable but I don’t care about the drugs… I Just love the music and the band’s musicianship. Plus they are fun as hell to dance to at their live shows which is what they’re all about.

Phish is a genius band. I’ll always respect them. I don’t care what the haters think.

The Grateful Dead, Phish and the Allman Brothers are three of the greatest jam bands…

On Spotify, I’ve been listening to quite a lot of Grateful Dead. So far, I’ve listened to 5 albums by them. They are: The Grateful Dead (Self titled), Aoxomoxoa, Workingman’s Dead, Blues For Allah and Go To Heaven.

I’m trying to listen to all of the Dead’s studio albums. I’ve always been a Dead fan for years. In the past though, I wasn’t much of a Deadhead. I didn’t buy much of their albums. I just listened to the dead when friends & family members listened to them. I think I wanna start buying some Grateful Dead music myself and soon I’ll start collecting all of their studio albums from Itunes.

I wanna start listening to Phish a lot more too ’cause I’ve been listening to Phish for a long time and even saw them in concert a couple of times. I really like PHish a lot.

As for the Allman Brothers, I’m a huge fan of that band and have most of their albums.

I like jam band and hippie music, sure. It’s just that I would listen to the Dead, Phish and the Allman Bros. ’cause those three bands are my favorite. I don’t have to be a stoner or a drug addict to listen to that music. I listen to it ’cause I enjoy it. I just think that kind of music is fun to listen to. I don’t have to be a hippie to enjoy it which I’m not a hippie at all. I listen to these bands ’cause I just love the improvisational jams which is what I listen to them for. I know jam band music isn’t for everybody but I happen to enjoy this stuff.

I don’t know why the jam band industry gets so much hatred and disrespect. I understand that the drugs is part of the problem but I just love ’em for the music, ya know? That’s what it should have been about. It’s just fun music to listen to. I just love to listen to that kind of guitar playing. Plus the songwriting can get really good and some of these bands can come up with very good vocal melodies.

All three of these bands are inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame except for Phish, though. Phish absolutely deserves an induction in the Hall of Fame. Love Phish or hate ’em, they accomplished a lot in the industry and that band continues to be very successful. Phish should be respected. I like improv jams and I listen to this stuff for my own inspiration of guitar playing.

Trey Anastasio to front the Grateful Dead for final shows in Chicago!!!

This is is pretty big news for Deadheads and Phish phans. The 4 surviving members of The Grateful Dead will play 3 nights at Soldier Field in Chicago and Trey Anastasio is set to front the band replacing the late, Jerry Garcia. The Dead picked Soldier Field to be their final show ’cause that was the venue where it had Jerry’s last performance before he passed on.

This is huge for Trey and I’m sure it’s a dream come true for him to play with the Dead! WOW! I’m a fan of both the Dead and Phish. Congrats Trey!!!

I’m sure these concerts will be recorded for a DVD/CD release so I’ll hear it then! I’m sure It will be a killer show!

Phish… I don’t care what anyone thinks about them… they’re still great…

Phish is still getting a lot of haters. I can never understand why. I don’t see any reason to hate Phish. To me they’re just a band like all the others. Just doing their thing. Making music and touring.

The haters and doubters accuse this band of a lot of things… they accuse them of jerking themselves off and being arrogant. They’ve been called by every name in the book by people. They also don’t like how they get fans into drugs and all of that.

I’ve said it repeatedly that it’s not the band’s fault that they get people into drugs. That is how the hippie movement have always been. It goes way back to the 60’s. People have been doing drugs at concerts for many years. It’s called psychedelic. If you think the drugs with Phish is bad… then why don’t you check out the Grateful Dead. Fans and drugs were a lot worse with the Grateful Dead. I know that drugs are a huge problem with Phish, that can not be denied but I don’t care about the drugs, man. It’s about the music. The music is what makes Phish great.

I’ve always respected Phish as I’ve listened to their music for many years and I’ve seen them in concert a few times as well. I still respect the band.

Like I said, I see no reason to hate them at all. They’re just a band, that’s all they are. Their music is just very enjoyable to listen to.

If you want to get a good idea of what the band is all about watch their interview in the video below. It’s good stuff. They seem like nice and down to earth guys. Trey is always smiling and enjoying himself. So why the hate?

I think their new album, “Fuego” is the best album they’ve ever done. You really should check it out and give it a listen yourself. I have no problem with Phish at all.

I don’t understand why that so many people who used to be fans of the band turned their backs on them. I think jealousy is a huge part of that. Phish is getting bigger. They had a 30 year career and the band is still very popular. They still sell out shows. The psychedelic and jam band movement is still alive and well. I never turned my back on Phish. I will always be loyal to them.

Love ’em or hate ’em… Trey Anastasio is a musical genius. Phish deserves more respect for a lot of reasons.

Phish and drugs…

This news story, here,  has been making the rounds of facebook so I thought I would respond my thoughts to it. Phish had a three day concert at a venue called SPAC in Saratoga Springs. Phish is a well-known psychedelic jam band who kind of sounds similar to the Grateful Dead but a little different w/ Trey Anastasio being the band’s frontman and guitarist. Look like the police had a bit of fun that weekend and kept themselves busy. One concert goer was found dead and about 80 other people were arrested. Not just for pot but various of other hard drugs all over the place.

Yet, people in this generation are trying to understand why? Why do people do drugs at Phish shows? I’ve been to a couple of Phish shows myself and I know what it’s like. When you go to Phish shows there are drug addicts everywhere. They would do them outside of the venue and they would do them in the venue too.

This is nothing new with people doing drugs at rock concerts. This goes way back in the 60’s rock n’ roll era. Especially Woodstock ’69. Woodstock ’69 was all about the hard drugs and the hippie lifestyle. People were doing drugs at all rock band shows back in those days. People did drugs at Hendrix shows, Led Zeppelin shows, The Who, The Doors, Beatles, Cream, etc. Of course, when the Grateful Dead came around that’s when the drug culture in rock music became big and mainstream.

I wouldn’t really blame Phish on the drugs at concerts. That’s the way the hippie lifestyle is.

Don’t get me wrong… I absolutely love the psychedelic era of rock n’ roll and I LOVE jam band music but I hate the hippie lifestyle. They may seem like nice people but honestly they’re a bunch of losers who don’t have much going on in their life, anways. All those people do is party hard.

I’m not a hard partier. I don’t do illegal drugs and don’t do alcohol but I have been to plenty of jam band shows so I know all about the hippie lifestyle. I do agree; however, that drugs at concerts are getting out of hand. The Dave Matthews Band have drug addicts at their gigs too. Why do fans of these jam bands wanna get stoned or tripped up on drugs at these concerts? Well, I think the obvious reason is that they think that’s part of the gigs, and they think that’s how they have fun so they can dance, and party with the other hippies. It’s all part of a social gathering.

Doing drugs at concerts is nothing new… and it’s not just the jam band genre. People do drugs at metal shows and even country concerts. The reason cops show up at jam band shows is because that’s where there will be a lot more action for them and a bigger payday for them.

Remember… don’t blame Phish… that’s just how the hippie lifestyle is. Yes, hippies still exist to this day and those people really bother me.

I can still go to a concert by not getting stoned or drunk or whatever, and still have a lot of fun!!! I can still dance like crazy by not doing any drugs. I’ll admit it though — I was drunk as hell at one Phish show but I don’t drink anymore.

Cool Video: Phish rings in the New Year last night at MSG in NYC…

No matter what you think of the jam band, Phish, they are great live performers and they certainly know how to put on an exciting fun show. I know this, because I’ve seen Phish in concert myself at least 3 or 4 times in my life. Yes, I love Phish and am a big fan of them myself. I don’t need to do drugs and drink alcohol to enjoy their music. I just admire their talent and the way they perform their concerts. Plus, I like Trey Anastasio. He’s a great musician and a great guitar player.

Enjoy this. Floating people over the crowd and balloons all over the place. Pretty amazing, makes me wish I was in NYC for this show.

Cool Video: Phish performs the Rolling Stones hit, “Loving Cup” on Jimmy Fallon last night…

Phish performed on TV for the first time in many years. Here they are performing the Rolling Stones classic, “Loving Cup”  in celebration of the band’s “Exile on Main St.” album. Keith Richards was even there to introduce the band to the stage. How cool is that?

See the great performance here:

Now you see how talented Phish really is when they play live. Phish are amazing live performers, I’ve seen them live in concert at least a couple of times. I love Phish and plan on seeing them again this summer at SPAC hopefully.
