Thoughts on the new Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees of 2019… yes, they are all worthy even Janet Jackson!

Well I’m pretty happy with this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. They did a good job this time. The Cure, Def Leppard, Janet Jackson, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music and the Zombies. I admire and respect ALL of these musical acts.

Yeah, there are gonna be some that are gonna question Janet Jackson and Stevie Nicks being in there but they are both worthy totally. Stevie may be already in the Hall of Fame under Fleetwood Mac but this is her as a solo artist, though. Her as a solo artist is definitely worthy.

I also know that some are gonna bitch and complain about Janet Jackson being in there. The haters are going to make assumptions that Janet is not “rock” and say she’s a pop artist but Janet is rock n’ roll. I know how some out there gets upset that pop artists getting inducted in the Hall of Fame but pop music is rock. Many don’t think so but it really is. Rock n’ roll exists in all styles of music including hip hop. That’s why you are starting to see hip hop artists being inducted too.

With that being said, Janet’s career is pretty legendary and I’m a fan of her stuff. Loved her for a long time and still do. Her induction in the hall of fame was definitely long overdue. I agree with her being in.

Other than that I’m happy with the other inductees too. Even though I never bought any of the Cure’s records, I do like that band and want to start getting their stuff. I’m also a fan of Def Leppard… when I was a kid I used to own “Pyromania” and “Hysteria” albums on CD but got rid of them. Would like to get those two albums back and I plan on it at some point. Radiohead? Fuck yeah, totally worthy for sure. I’m a huge Radiohead fan as I own pretty much all of their albums except for “Ok Computer”, “Hail to The Thief” and “A Moon Shaped Pool” but I plan on getting them soon.

As far as Roxy Music goes, I didn’t listen to them much over the years but the only album I’ve heard of theirs was “For Your Pleasure” which was a great album. Bryan Ferry is a talented singer.

As far as the Zombies goes, I’m glad they’re in finally. This one was long overdue for sure. I never bought their records but I’ve heard plenty of their songs, though. Songs like “Time of the Season”, “She’s Not There”, “Tell Her No”, “This Will Be Our Year”, etc. Oh man, they wrote so many great masterpieces. To hell with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones… you wanna listen to real music, listen to the Zombies.

Here’s a song in the videos below for each inductee… enjoy!

The Cure “Lovesong”

Def Leppard “Love Bites”

Janet Jackson “That’s the Love Goes”

Stevie Nicks “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around”

Radiohead “How to Disappear Completely”

Roxy Music “If There Is Something”

The Zombies “She’s Not There”

Radiohead releases their version of “Spectre” theme and it’s amazing… woah!!!

It looks  like Radiohead is about ready to make their return to the industry in 2016. Not only that the band dropped a new song today which is their version of the “Spectre” theme song that got rejected from the movie, they also started teasing a new album for 2016. So their next album will be their follow-up from their 2011 album, “The King of Limbs”. So it’s been about 5 years since Radiohead hasn’t release new music.

Well, here is Radiohead’s version of the “Spectre” theme song which is pretty amazing stuff. I wished they used this theme song for “Spectre” instead of Sam Smith’s “Writing on the Wall”. I hated Sam Smith’s song. Of course, they had to pick the Sam Smith one instead so they can fit into the pop culture, ya know? That’s the only reason they did it. Radiohead doesn’t fit into the pop culture which is why they were rejected. Radiohead isn’t much of a mainstream band which is good. Radiohead used to be a big mainstream band but not anymore, though.

Check out Radiohead’s version of “Spectre”. Thom’s voice sends chills like usual. I’ve always been a big Radiohead fan and looking forward to their next album.

Report: Radiohead cancels Downsview Park concert in Toronto due to stage collapse, killing 1 and injuring a few others…

Radiohead, was schedule to perform at Downsview Park tonight in Toronto, Canada, but the band were forced to cancel the concert due to a stage collapsing, which killed one person and injured a few others. The band themselves made the announcement on facebook/twitter, saying fans who bought tickets will get refunds and fans were told not to travel to the show.

While I’m sure, this is angering a lot of Radiohead fans, the band did a good move here, so I’m siding with them. Human lives are more important than music, so Radiohead had no choice but to cancel the gig for good, ’cause it’s for the best. I mean, this could have been Radiohead performing on stage. What if Radiohead were rehearsing before the show? It could have happened to them instead. Plus, they had to cancel the show out of respect for the person that died. Radiohead is just being professional about this.

This is just even more proof that outdoor concerts can be very very dangerous. This is pretty tragic, and I’m sure the guys in Radiohead are scared themselves.

More on the story, here.

Report: Phish, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, will be the three big headliners for this year’s Bonnaroo…

As of today on Valentine’s Day, the Bonnaroo Festival decided to reveal it’s lineup for 2012. For the three day weekend festival: Phish, Radiohead, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be the big headliners.

Other artists included: The Beach Boys, The Shins, Foster the People, Alice Cooper, Ben Folds Five, Phantogram, and lots more.

This sounds like a much better lineup than this year’s Coachella festival.

Check out the complete lineup, here.

Report: Radiohead announces new album, “The King of Limbs” to be released this Saturday on the web…

Radiohead decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day today with their fans, by announcing a new album titled, “The King Of Limbs” which will be available at, this website, Saturday. This really shows that Thom Yorke and the gang really love their fans, and they wanted to give them a Valentine’s gift by doing this.

I’m a Radiohead fan, as I have listened to all of their albums including, “In Rainbows”, so I’m looking forward to their new one.

I’ll wait for the new album to get on Itunes though, it’ll be on there soon.

Report: Radiohead’s guitarist Ed O’ Brien defends piracy on music….

One of Radiohead’s guitarists, Ed O’ Brien, spoke out on internet piracy on music and says it doesn’t hurt the music industry at all. I agree with him. He makes a point that pirates don’t spend their money on albums, that they rather get their music for free online, while pirates would rather spend their money on concert tickets, t-shirts, etc.

More on it here:

Honestly, I always knew that piracy didn’t hurt the music industry. Around the Napster free days, I was downloading songs from Napster for free all the time back then before Lars Ulrich came around and started this war against Napster.

I always saw people downloading songs for free as a way to promote a music artist. It helps gets the artist recognized.

I don’t pirate music at all now ’cause I don’t want to get sued by the RIAA.

Report: Radiohead to break up and call it quits? That’s what their manager wants them to do…

Could a Radiohead break up be on our hands up ahead? That’s what the band’s manager, Brian Message, thinks. Brian claims the band isn’t working as a music group anymore and thinks they should call it quits

More on it here:

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/05/05/radiohead-advised-to-split-up-prior-to-in-rainbows/

It’s great that Radiohead continues to move forward in their music. They shouldn’t have to quit by the manager’s decision.

I thought “In Rainbows” was a beautiful record and probably the best album the band’s ever done. It would be a shame and so sad if they broke up now.
