This is pretty big news and shocking. I didn’t see this one coming. Hopefully, Obama will soon be next… I doubt it, though.
More on this another time.

He actually lasted a fairly long time as AG. Most burn out and are replaced within the first term.
I read that he was the fourth longest serving AG, which considering most presidents have more than one, is fairly impressive.

I seriously doubt that “burning out” is the reason for these people deciding to resign. It’s deeper than that. I think it’s because they’ve done too many criminal acts and lied too much… they are just starting to regret it all. Either that or Obama is up to something.
Kev
I mean, this is getting strange, Hillary resigned as Secretary of State… Jay Carney resigned as White House Press Secretary and now Eric Holder resigned. I’m beginning to think that Obummer is definitely up to something, you should be careful here.
Kev
Nah, this turnover rate is nothing special.
http://blog.lib.umn.edu/cspg/smartpolitics/2012/06/obama_cabinet_turnover_rate_re.php
Even adding Holder and Clinton, his cabinet has been stable.
When will you ever realize that these government people aren’t so lovable and wonderful? When will you realize that these people are criminals, liars, communists and frauds? Whenever these guys resign, you always see it as them “burning” out which I take that as you seeing them as innocent people. They’re not dude. Yeah, they are probably burned out but not burned out for many years of working hard. They are probably getting burned out by getting accused of too many things. Just my 2cents.
Kev
Nobody is saying anything about them being lovable or wonderful – merely that those high level jobs chew through people easily.
I take it that you guys haven’t been following the “Fast and Furious” story at all. He’s being investigated for that and he was ordered by a federal judge to hand in documents to the Judiciary Watch… and he had one month to do that. Kind of figures why he had to resign.
In my opinion, being overwhelmed by the work isn’t the reason for him resigning. It’s all about the “Fast and Furious” crime that he’s being investigated on.
He’s just trying to escape impeachment just like Nixon did.
Kev
Nope. It’s not like he’s leaving tomorrow. He’s waiting till the spot is filled, which could be a year
Obama will probably get an immediate replacement but the replacement will not be anyone better. Obama will find someone who is even more radical and corrupt. Somebody worse than Holder. I would think Obama would hire another black man as DOJ so he can play the race card over Ferguson, Obama’s impeachment, etc.
Kev
No really, he can’t get an immediate replacement. It’s going to take months. That’s not how it works.
Just wait for it. He will get a replacement tomorrow or the next couple of days. When Jay Carney left, he was replaced immediately.

And you know you’re lying when you claim that after someone in government resigns they keep working until they find a replacement. When they resign, they’re done. That means they have to leave as soon as possible and usually Obama already has a replacement already decided. A president usually have a back up in case someone resigns or have been impeached so he/she can be replaced as soon as possible. I’ve been paying attention to government for a long time now and when somebody in the Cabinet resigns, they’re usually replaced pretty quickly.
I’ll bet your money Holder will get replaced tomorrow.
Kev
Ok, I accept that bet. How is the replacement going to get through Senate confirmation in one day?
I know how the appointment process works for Cabinet members. I do know the president appoints Cabinet members and then they are voted on by the Senate but it can be done quickly! Remember, when Hillary stepped down as Secretary of State, she was immediately replaced by John Kerry. If not tomorrow, it can be done next week.
Kev
You think the Republican Senate is going to make this easy?
Actually, the Senate is democrat controlled. You know that. I would like a Republican DOJ but it’s not gonna happen with a democrat controlled Senate and a democrat President. With Obama’s executive orders, he doesn’t need to consult with the Senate if he doesn’t want to. He can get an immediate replacement with his pen and a phone.
Kev
Hey can’t sign an executive order. Anyway, elections are coming up and it’s likely the Democrats lose control of the Senate, hence what I said. Here’s a neat breakdown of scenarios
http://blog.constitutioncenter.org/2014/09/how-the-senate-will-confirm-a-new-attorney-general/
Well if the Dems are gonna lose control of the Senate, that’s good actually. Us conservatives have been fighting to get our Senate back for a long while now so it looks like we are going to win.
Obama and the Senate could probably replace the DOJ before the elections. All we have to do is wait and see.
In all honesty, though, Eric Holder should be in jail anyway.
Kev
Personally, I could care less how long he’s gonna get replaced or how the replacement process works. I don’t give a shit. I’m just glad this piece of garbage is done.
And you guys are still misinformed on how corrupt and criminal Holder really is.
Info wars got it right:
http://www.infowars.com/the-crimes-of-eric-holder/
Not only that, Holder is pretty divisive with race and always playing the race card. He’s trying to take gun rights away from us and he’s part of the IRS scandals too.
Now that he’s out, hopefully prison will soon be coming for him.
I think he resigned ’cause he was ordered to hand in the “Fast and Furious” documents soon before the deadline. Everybody knows his involvement with “Fast and Furious”.
If you don’t then you’re the one who is misinformed and uneducated with politics.
Kev
Without Eric Holder, Obama is gonna need a new protector. Somebody to protect Obama over his crimes. That’s what Holder have also done over the years, protect Obama from getting in trouble. Without Holder, it’s gonna be tough to protect Obama. So Obama better find a Democrat DOJ to the Senate who is willing to protect him.
If we’re gonna get our republican controlled Senate, we could get a Republican DOJ. Once we get a Republican DOJ, Obama will be in trouble. I wish we would get Cabinet members who is willing to expose Obama and has the spine to get him held accountable. That’s why Republicans are desperately trying to keep the House and get our Senate back for the Nov. elections so we can get rid of Obama easier and quicker.
Like it or not, the rats are giving themselves up: Jay Carney, Eric Holder, etc. Who’s next? I’m predicting Susan Rice maybe.
