More on vlogs…

The name of the teleprompter app that I bought for the Ipad is called Telemprompt+ by bombing brain which is supposed to be the best teleprompter app there is. It is a really good app. I spent some time this morning trying to figure out how I would share my videos from the telemprompt app to youtube and just figured it out. The teleprompt+ app you can read your script while you’re recording on audio/video or both. A couple of weeks ago, I also bought the Imovie app, which is a movie making app for the Ipad. Imovie is another famous app that was created by Steve Jobs actually. I’m glad I got both of these apps ’cause I needed them.

Now I’ll be able to make more professional videos for my youtube channel. I could make videos for the PC and I have been but my PC is a bit slow running and it’s much faster on the Ipad. You don’t have to waste so much time doing all this converting which takes so long. The Ipad would be a lot quicker uploading videos too.

The telemprompt+ app was worth the money too. A bit pricey but really cool and worth it. I’ll start writing the script for my “Benghazi” vlog today. I’m gonna try to make some really cool and professional looking videos the best I can.

I got it all figured out, though. I know how to upload videos from the Ipad to my youtube channel now.

With my Ipad, I can go outside with it and record myself talking during this nice weather. Time to get my youtube channel going again this summer. I like doing all kinds of different things with my youtube channel… live music performances, travelling videos, vlogs, etc.

The Ipad is a great tool. Can be pretty handy for a lot of things. I guess that’s what Steve Jobs invented it for.

Gonna start Vlogging again soon…

For my youtube channel, I think I’m gonna start vlogging again soon. Probably this weekend I’ll get back into it. I did it in the past before where I would make video blogs in youtube speaking my mind but I took ’em all down ’cause I wanted my youtube channel to focus on the music only but I feel like I’m gonna start vlogging again so I can get hopefully a bigger audience and more blog readers.

For the vlogs, I will speak on things just like I do on here talk about politics, music, movies, the entertainment industry, celebrity news, etc. Maybe I’ll post a vlog like once or twice a week.

Keep in mind though, that the Vlogs are gonna be no holds barred anything goes discussion. Angry rants, a lot of swearing, etc. Whatever’s on my mind, will get said.

I just bought a teleprompter app for my Ipad that way it can help me speak a lot clearly and that way I won’t mess up a video speech. Teleprompter software will help if you’re not good at speaking well. I’ll admit I do have a slight speaking problem but not too bad. Reading off a teleprompter will help me practice speak a lot clearly.

My first vlog will probably end up being about Benghazi. I figure my thoughts on Benghazi deserves a wider audience and it deserves to get heard more. I’m probably gonna do a lot of liberal bashing so just for you to be aware. It might be a controversial video but the message needs to get out there.

Throwback Thursdays rant…

So the internet is obsessed with “Throwback Thursdays”. Social Networking on facebook/twitter is all over it. It’s a day where people would post something about their past like a photo or a video or whatever.

However, “Throwback Thursday” don’t really have to be about yourself. It can be your favorite song or movie from the past or just about anything.

I tried to join the “Throwback Thursday” bandwagon for a little but I find it kind of lame. To post things about your past and post it all for the world to see. I’ll probably stop posting stuff from my past ’cause I don’t have a lot of material from the past, honestly. I like to keep my past private and personal as you can all see. If you want to know more about my past, feel free to talk to me privately in person and if I know you well-enough, I may tell you a lot about my past. Isn’t that how it used to be before the day and age of social networking? Ya know, make some friends and tell each other about their past so they can know each other well? It seems like in this day and age of social networking you already know quite a lot with everyone even if you haven’t even met the person, lol. Crazy. Probably because they get so addicted with putting their whole life publicly for the world to see.

That’s why you don’t see me with an Iphone taking selfies of myself everywhere like a lot of people do. I have a cell-phone that can do that but I don’t bother with that stuff. Honestly, I’m a pretty private guy. When I’m out in public places like at a store or at the mall or something, I don’t need to be looking down at a screen the whole time ’cause it would be too distracting. I wanna be a part of this world, man. Not get taken over by technology and by the internet.

Hell, maybe I’ll post a pic of myself as a little kid sometime, that’s about all. I don’t feel comfortable with bringing everything up about my past. Like I said, if you want to know more about my past… become my friend and you’ll know more. Can’t be that hard, right?

Anyway, I’ll get back to Throwback Thursday tomorrow but it won’t be about myself. It’s going to be about national music, movies, politics, etc.

I got a special something planned for tomorrow’s Throwback Thursday and I’m not giving it away. It’ll be a big time reminder to y’all about a certain something. Get the hint? I’ll post it first thing tomorrow morning. Gonna be big!!!! 🙂

As I approach my 40’s, I’m starting to notice that my taste in music is slowly changing…

Over the years of my life, I’ve always been into metal and rock n’ roll. It was pretty much the only genre I listened to ever since I was a kid. When I was young, I was heavily into stuff like Twisted Sister, Sammy Hagar solo, Bruce Springsteen (I’ve been a lifelong Springsteen fan and still am, btw), the Talking Heads, The Clash, Jethro Tull, Billy Joel, etc. As I got older into my high school years, I started to get into the new grunge movement around that time. Of course, I first discovered Nirvana and all the rest of the grunge bands in the 90’s like Soundgarden, Alice N’ Chains, Pearl Jam, STP, etc. In my teen years, I started to get into pop and rap a little bit. I also tried to get into country over the years too. While I liked a lot of country artists… I’ve always found that Johnny Cash has always been my favorite.

I’ve always been a hard rock and metal fan… still am too in a way. I don’t like the death metal/black metal stuff where there’s a lot of screaming and growling, that genre has never been my thing. I just like regular heavy metal with real singing stuff like Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Sabbath, etc. That’s the kind of metal I like.

Today, I’m noticing that my taste in music is starting to change again. I’ve gotten into a lot of instrumental music lately. I’ve also gotten heavily into the Allman Brothers as you can see so I guess I’m heading to the blues, jazz, and acoustic music mostly. Today, I just bought two albums from Rodrigo Y Gabriela and an album by jazz guitarist Al Di Meola. I’ve been wanting to get into Al Di Meola for a long while ’cause I’ve read so much about him through Guitar World over the years. The album I got from Al Di Meola was “Elegant Gypsy” an older album of his. If I like it enough, I’ll get some more of his albums.

I listen to albums. Not just songs. I listen to albums like a piece of art. A lot of people would only select one or two of their favorite songs to get for their Ipod but not me. I never listened to music that way. I’m a full album kind of guy. That’s how you wanna listen to music. I know a good album when I hear one.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ll always love metal and rock n’ roll. I’ll NEVER turn my back from those two genres but as I get older, I start to listen to other things like more blues, jazz, fusion, etc. Instrumental music with great guitar playing. I love listening to that stuff. Instrumental guitar music. The Allman Brothers did that a lot too. They did more instrumental music than songs with vocals and that’s one of the reasons why I respect the hell out of them so much.

That’s what happens as you get older. Your taste in music slowly changes. That is what’s happening to me.

I wanna get into more jazz as for more inspiration for my own guitar playing. I wanna listen to those guys how they play their lead guitar solos as a way to improve my own. If I want to become a better lead guitar player, I figure listening to a lot of jazz would help me. So I think I’m gonna get into jazz and instrumental guitar music more.

Al Di Meola gets a lot of praise from metal guitarists especially from Zakk Wylde so I think I’m gonna get into Di Meola’s music myself. I’ve been watching Al Di Meola’s live performances in youtube quite a lot so I think I’m gonna start getting his studio albums now.

From this point on…

Each time I make a new post about Benghazi, I’m going to leave the comments closed. I am banning all debates and responses on Benghazi ’cause I don’t need you ignorant pieces of shits siding with the White House every time. I think you guys are assholes replying to Benghazi posts or anything Obama, acting like this administration is innocent. If you don’t like it, you can fuck off. Thank you.

7 Things To Give Up…

1781165_730723323618487_1981928016_o

Another good facebook meme worth re-sharing here.

When you want to become a successful and happy person in your life… these are the things you must do. I agree with all 7 of these.

If I want to become successful with women, I gotta stop being negative and doubtful about it. I gotta think positive and think that I can do this. I also gotta stop procrastinating about it too and go out and “DO IT” as soon as possible. The same goes for everything else in my life. If I wanna get a job, an education, drivers license/car, etc. I gotta think positive and do all those things.

I also gotta stop pleasing people and stop saying “yes” when I want to say no. I have been doing both of those a lot lately and I feel good about it. I already have been done pleasing people for years now. Over the years in my life, I’ve had too many people try to get me to please them if they don’t like what I say or do. People tried to get me to please them on the internet too which it doesn’t work that way.

I know I get so many haters, trolls, and cyberbullies online… but if you get so many people disliking you and not liking who you are… who cares. It ain’t the end of the world. Just keep being you and keep on keeping on. Over the years, I’ve had too many local musicians who tried to change me ’cause they didn’t like who I am. I never allowed them to change me. That includes my own cousin who happens to be a musician, he even tried to change me too ’cause he didn’t like who I am online. Not gonna happen. That’s pretty much why I’ve had it with his immature shit. I don’t have to change ’cause other people don’t like me.

That’s why I’m real strict on my moderating online ’cause I’m not gonna let people think it’s okay to write negative stuff whenever they want to.

I want my life to be positive and joyful. Giving up those 7 things above will definitely help. My life is great and that’s all matters. I’m not gonna let people bring me down even though they try. Be who you wanna be and fuck everybody. Be strong, be tough, and kick ass! 🙂

I really need to be a “man” if I want to become successful with women…

This is another great video by thePlayerSupreme. Probably the best advice on women.

If you’re too lazy to watch this 20 minute long video, what this guy is explaining is that he wants us men to start being “men” and not being little boys (or little females) to get women. He makes some points that he wants us to stop watching his videos, reading dating e-books and other dating guru sites in youtube — he wants us to go out there… grow some balls and just do it.

If you like a woman… if you think she’s hot, beautiful and gorgeous or whatever — it shouldn’t be all that hard to walk up to her and say, “hi”. Start a conversation from there. As I said before, women won’t bite. They are down to earth people and once you start talking to women, they’ll make you feel like you’ve already known her for years so it shouldn’t be that hard to start a conversation with her.

What this guy says in this video… the truth maybe harsh but worth listening to.

Maybe this is why I haven’t had much experience with women over the years in my life ’cause I am admittedly shy over them but then again, I’m working on “conquering” my fear over women and have been growing more confident over them. He explains that “DOING IT” will help make you become more successful with women. I’ve admittedly made tons of mistakes with women over the years and learning from them. I’m just learning that women aren’t all that difficult and they are actually very easy.

I keep thinking that women won’t date me ’cause I don’t have a good job and don’t have a car/license but that’s just an excuse. I also keep thinking that women won’t date me ’cause they won’t find me good looking. That’s just me being insecure and I gotta stop that. Women will pretty much date any guy who has the confidence. If you have the balls to go up to talk to her, she will be impressed and she will probably like you for that. Be confident, treat her like a human being and with respect… she’ll probably date you. Making women feel “safe” is key to getting her to like you back. Make her feel safe and protected, she’ll pretty much do anything with you.

I would think that people in my life would try to hook me up with a woman but I guess it doesn’t work that way. Women won’t fall in your lap. I guess, I’m on my own that I need to get out there and get her myself.

I really do think I have what it takes to hook up with beautiful women. I think I am capable of loving them and making them happy. I just gotta get out there and prove everyone wrong. I know I can do this.

I’m almost 40 and need to settle in with a nice lady before I get any older.

I won’t pick up women from bars/clubs, though. That isn’t really my thing. I don’t really need a woman who is obsessed with drinking.

I wanna see if I can meet women in public places and help grow my confidence even more. I really need to get rid of my shyness. Gotta get worked on.

Greenwich is a small town. Not a lot to do around here but there are beautiful women all over  the place even for a small town. When I’m shopping at Hannaford grocery store, I see gorgeous women shopping all over the place. There’s Whipple City Festival coming in June in Greenwich so that’s an idea of a place to meet women. I just gotta find things to do in Greenwich where I can meet women. I gotta find some events and clubs and things like that in town. If I don’t wanna meet women at bars, there are other options. You just gotta think and come up with ideas.

This PlayerSupreme guy makes it seems real easy to get women. It probably is easy. Like I said, I just gotta go out there and “DO IT”. See how easy it really is.

Thinking about getting a MIDI controller for Ipad…

I’ve been doing some googling on MIDI controllers, the ones that would allow you to hook-up to the Ipad. I think I’m gonna get myself one of those sometime in the future that way I can make my own backing tracks and have band back-up to my songs. I’ll get a MIDI controller with a keyboard on it and stuff. I don’t know anything about playing piano or the keyboards so I’m gonna have to buy a few instructional books to learn. I actually tried to learn how to play piano/keyboards in the past before a little bit, though.

The Ipad is a very handy tool for musicians and that’s one of the main reasons why I wanted an Ipad. Recording music on an Ipad is much more easier and quicker to record on than the PC. Plus, the sound quality is better and more cleaner than the PC.

I would like to get a MIDI controller so I can create all sorts of cool sounds with my music. I’ll be able to sing over orchestration or a brass ensemble and things like that. I’ve always wanted to sing over piano music too.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to play piano/keyboard/synthesizers and think I will soon.

I’m sure you can find a cheap MIDI controller that’ll cost about $100 or less and I’ve already found some. Maybe this Spring/Summer, I’ll order one.

This is pretty much another reason why I’m trying to learn music theory ’cause if you learn music theory… you’ll be able to work with MIDI much easier and you can make your backing tracks sound good and stay in key all the time.

I’ve always been trying to research and investigate the best ways to work with MIDI and I’ve think I’ve finally found the thing.

What is “phrasing” in guitar playing…

So I mentioned the word, “phrasing”, when talking about guitar playing. What is it? The way I look at “phrasing” in guitar playing when playing guitar solos is sounding musical. You want to make your lead guitar playing sound like it’s singing a song. When you can get your lead guitar playing to make it sound like it’s singing a song, that’s when you know you’re good at phrasing. Knowing all your techniques like slides, hammer on’s/pull off’s, string bending, vibratos, knowing your scales, finger exercises, etc. All that stuff is great but if you wanna get somewhere in your lead guitar playing, you gotta improve your “phrasing” which is what I’ve been working on.

There are so many guitarists out there who all they wanna do is show their technical skills and play a bunch of fast notes but all they’re doing is just playing a bunch of scales which would sound awful. It’s okay to show off but you don’t wanna over-do it. Less is more in guitar playing. You can still play an amazing guitar solo by just using 4 or 5 notes, that’s it. You just need to know how to “phrase” them and make them sound musical.

Nobody wants to hear fast guitar playing all of the time. They want to hear “music”.

A lot of musicians mistakenly believe that audiences get bored of long ten minute guitar solos. You see, that’s not always true. As long as you’re good at “phrasing” and making your guitar solos sound musical, then people can listen to you play for hours and get their face melted.

If you wanna melt people’s faces with your guitar playing… you have to make your lead guitar playing sound “musical”. I know I’m repeating myself but trying to make a point.

A lot of guitar players overlook, “phrasing”. I’m trying to improve myself on this too. If you want your guitar solo to work, “phrasing” is key.

This is a huge part of why I’m such a huge fan of Joe Satriani. The reason his music is so good ’cause he’s the master at “phrasing”. He can make his lead guitar playing sound so memorable and catchy… you’ll never forget his lead guitar lines. That’s the goal. While I’m a big Satch fan and have a lot of his albums in my music collection, I still think, “Surfing With the Alien” is his best album. Even if you’re not into shred music at all, I’d still recommend you listen to that album. It is a classic shred album and that was the album that helped made the Satch so iconic. I can listen to “Surfing With the Alien” over and over and never get tired of it. It’s one of my favorite records. If you want a perfect example of good “phrasing” in guitar playing listen to that album.

Don’t get me wrong, though, I do like shred and fast notes but you want to play the solo that is right for the song.

I really want to become a great lead guitar player and doing all I can to get there. I just don’t wanna get too ahead of myself and taking my slow time.

I’m tired of being looked at as a rhythm player and songwriter. It’s time for people to know that I can play “guitar” and not just some dude writing songs.

Don’t care whether people likes you or not…

10153669_779104522099722_688814381_n

Another good one worth re-sharing.

Over the years in my life, I’ve had many people tell me that I’m a pretty dislike-able guy and not liked by too many. Even worse, I’ve even have people tell me that “nobody likes me”. I’m pretty sure you’ve dealt with this yourself. The last thing you wanna do is care what they have to say.

They’re just “opinionated” and they don’t understand you. I’d say let people have their negative opinions about you. You can’t please everybody.

People are crazy, man. I have no regrets being the loner type ’cause it actually feels great. I’ve been saying on my blog for years now whether you like me or hate me, I’m good.

Just live your life how you want to and enjoy it. Be yourself. Who cares what everyone else thinks.
