This gorgeous looking Asian chick covers Hendrix’s “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)”, on a Korean instrument called, the Gayageum. This is pretty impressive playing, and gave me goosebumps, all the way through. If Hendrix himself was still alive, he would have loved her for this. She did a great job. Rock songs can be played on any instrument, not just guitar. As long as you know music theory and improvisation, you can play any type of song on any type of instrument.
There is this band called the Mini Band which has the line up of 8 – 10 year old kids, performing a gig at a Beer Festival. Yes, you heard that right, a Beer Festival. The Mini Band performs Metallica’s, “Enter Sandman”. The Mini Band seems to be becoming internet sensations ’cause their videos are being posted everywhere in facebook. Honestly, I’m more impressed with the girl shredding on the solo. She makes Kirk Hammet look bad, lol.
I’ll give this band a lot of kudos because they’re playing real instruments. They’re not stuck at home playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero The lead singer’s vocals needs a little more work, but the other kids play their instruments well.
I think these kids are going to become future rock stars, especially that girl that shreds, she’s off to a good start. If she keeps playing guitar, imagine how good she’ll be when she turns 20?
I was looking through youtube, through guitar instructional stuff. Things to improve my bending technique’s on the electric guitar. I know how to bend strings on the guitar, it’s always been hard to do to get it right. Most every guitar instructors I’ve come across never really teach the string bending thing well. Most guitar instructors know how to string bend well, but they don’t teach it well. This guy, however, does teach it well. He makes string bending looks very easy and explains it easily. You can understand him when he teaches things. I can now bend strings on the guitar better than I have before because of this guy.
I want to concentrate on playing electric guitar a lot more. Focus on my chops and get better.
For you guitar players out there, enjoy this video. These techniques he’s showing you are pretty easy and I pretty much mastered most of them pretty quickly. I’m serious on learning how to play guitar solos and improvise better, I’m doing all I can to become a better and more professional guitarist.
This tribute of Black Sabbath was way cool I had to post myself. Youtube musician, Amy McCann collaborated with another band to cover “The Wizard” by Black Sabbath with violin added to it. Very nicely done. Great work. Loved it!
This is an Albany based local solo artist named Katie Haverly. Met her a couple of times and played a few shows with her in the past. This is a very nice tune, one of the best she’s written. Enjoy.
The Albany based, rock band, Lunic, is getting popularity fast. They’ve became an established band pretty quickly even if they only been around here for a short time. No offense to all local bands and musicians, but I’m going to say it now that Lunic is the best band to come around here in a long time, ever. Very tight band with amazing songwriting, unique.
Enough of the usual cover bands and boring original bands that writes songs with three chords only, but Lunic is an original band that is neither of those. They write original songs pretty profesionally, more profesional than any band around here.
I need to get out and see these guys live sometime. Here’s their performance at Valentine’s in Albany, N.Y. with some profesional video filming.
I’m also impressed that these guys like to keep their image casual. They’re not like those wannabe rock bands out there that try to look all pretty and stuff.
This is my favorite Albany local band in the history of local music. Lunic reminds me a bit of Radiohead, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and there’s a little Coldplay influence thrown in there too.
Lunic will show how local music is supposed to be done. I have a feeling they won’t be local for long ’cause this band sure is major label material and I think they will get signed. Enjoy the videos, the videos were filmed by Knight Owl Entertainment.
Well, here comes all the youtube musicians covering Michael Jackson songs as a tribute. I’m thinking of doing the same thing. Learn a few MJ songs acoustically and record myself singing them. I’ll work on it.
Here is Mike Grosshandler of the Albany, N.Y. band, The Velmas, covering “Thriller” on an acoustic guitar, with his own backup vocals from ProTools.
Iaz performed “Mental Case” live with a full band at a local open mic at a venue called the Circus Cafe in Saratoga Springs.
This is actually a pretty amazing and a fucking tight performance. I’ve said it once before and will say it again that Iaz needs to get himself a rock n’ roll band together. I think he’s profesional enough to front a band and this video is proof of it. Look at the other guys in this band, they have smiles on their faces watching Iaz as they play their instruments, so they are definitely having fun with him and find him talented.
If Iaz ever decides to move out of this area, he don’t need to form a band here, but you can form a band anywhere. I want Iaz to form his own band and tour around, put out an album. Iaz even got the crowd for a standing ovation too.
Check out this cool performance, below. Come on Iaz, get yourself a band going! Start auditioning musicians by putting ads out!
Iaz uploaded a new youtube video, it’s an original song he’s performing, acapella…the lyrics were written by his new girlfriend, Lizsia. Yes, Iaz, has a new girlfriend now, and I’ll be honest, she is actually not a bad looking chick at all, pretty easy on the eyes, and good looking in fact. Maybe guys like Iaz can get all the luck after all, ha ha.
Here is an excerpt of a song called “Relief”, that I wanted to post in the blog, this hasn’t been posted anywhere, so I guess you can call this an exclusive. The section of these lyrics is pretty comical in my part so that’s why I asked them if I can post it.
“Relief”
by Iaz/Lizsia
As I Arrive, at the finish line
My friends they will cheer me, and you will be,
but a faded memory.
So as I pack my bags, I say to you…
CHORUS:
I am tired, oh so tired of all this shit.
So I will run, as far as I can
Away from here, Away from here
Good-bye, you can’t bother me now.
I’ve moved on as you read this note.
I’m ridiing out of state, riding out of state. (end song)
There is this cool dude named Stewart Brodian in youtube, who made this awesome video. This guy is mostly known as a Howard Stern impersonator. He’s not only that, he is also: an actor, a stand up comedian, a musician singer/songwriter guy, he plays both guitar and piano, and I believe he is also a radio DJ. Yep, the dude is multi-talented.
Of course, I heard about this Stewart Brodian guy through Rayford’s “Unreal Variety Show”, but honestly, I am finding Stewart Brodian to be way more talented than Rayford. Although I never met Stewart Brodian in my life, he does seem like a very nice guy and down to earth. I mean, Stewart doesn’t have an ego problem, he shows passion in what he does, I have never once seen this man being negative and hateful to anyone
I would say that Stewart Brodian is the true superstar. Want to learn more about him? Google him and type up his name in youtube for more of his videos.
Enjoy his music video to his song “A Little Change”, a great tune and a great video. Keep up the great work, Stewart.
