Report: Ac/Dc scores no. 1 at the Billboard top 200 for “Black Ice”, this is the band’s second no. 1 album in their entire career!!!

Woah, Ac/Dc’s Wal-Mart exclusive album “Black Ice” the new album did surprisingly well in salesl!!! It sold 784,000 in it’s first week through Wal-Mart stores. That’s pretty impressive for just a small Wal-Mart chain store. With over 20 years of making music, Ac/Dc had only 2 no. 1 albums in the top 200. The other no. 1 album was “For Those About to Rock We Salute You”.

Some would like to think that Ac/Dc’s essential album “Back In Black” was a no. 1 record, it wasn’t. In fact, that album “Back In Black” didn’t sell too well. That “Back In Black” album became a best selling album later in the years of Ac/Dc not on the week the album was first released.

Congrats, boys! Welcome back! Now please, Brian and Angus, stick around a lot longer.

CD Review: Ac/Dc “Black Ice”…

Just finished listening to Ac/Dc’s “Black Ice” the entire album from the link below the post here. My thoughts.

I really enjoyed it. It’s quite a good album. Nothing amazing or nothing mind blowing, but exceptionally good. It’s just typical Ac/Dc. Same sound, same style. The usual great guitar playing by Angus and Malcolm. “Black Ice” is no return to “Back In Black” or “The Razor’s Edge”, “Black Ice” is more aiming toward the Bon Scott era. “Black Ice” has the classic Ac/Dc sound back. I would like to give vocal credit to Brian Johnson.

During the bands long 8 year hiatus, Brian Johnson must be working hard on his vocals. He has improved. He is not just a screamer on this new album, he actually “sings”. There are songs where Brian sings in a deep voice, to regular singing, to high pitch screaming. The earlier Ac/Dc albums, you hear Brian screaming pretty much throughout the entire song, but not with this album. He actually “sings” which is good.

I wish the album could be a little better but other than that, I’m happy to see the band back after all these years!

My favorite tracks: “Rock N’ Roll Train”, “Big Jack”, “Stormy May Day”, “Decibel”, “Money Made” and the title track “Black Ice”.

Score for Ac/Dc’s “Black Ice” = *** (3 stars as in good)

Look like the Rock Band franchise snagged Ac/Dc to get their own music video game before Guitar Hero even got to them! Ac/Dc will release, “Ac/Dc Rock Band Track Pack” that will include 18 live tracks from their Donnington concert.

Here’s the tracklisting for their Rock Band Track Pack:

“Thunderstruck”

“Heatseeker”
“Fire Your Guns”
“Jailbreak”
“The Jack”
“Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”
“Moneytalks”
“Hells Bells”
“High Voltage”
“Whole Lotta Rosie”
“You Shook Me All Night Long”
“T.N.T.”
“Let There Be Rock”
“Highway To Hell”
“For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)”

This “Rock Band Track Pack” by Ac/Dc will be released in the US sometime in November. It will be released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in December.

I probably won’t get this if this is going to Rock Band then. I prefer Guitar Hero more.

Report: Ac/Dc wants fans to cover “Rock N’ Roll Train” for youtube contest…

Ac/Dc is having an interesting contest where the band is letting fans cover their song “Rock N’ Roll Train” in a youtube video. They allow anything goes with people covering “Rock N’ Roll Train”: group sing alongs, karaoke, electric guitar, air guitar, etc. Whatever you want. The band will be watching the videos and they will pick the best one that impresses them, the ones that they think deserve to win.

If you win, you get signature electric guitars like Angus Young’s SG Gibson, and Malcom Young’s Gretsch signature guitar, and other prizes.

Report: Ac/Dc refuses to sell music on Itunes, the band says they make albums, not singles…

You think Kid Rock is the only musician who hates Itunes and will never sell music on there? You can add Ac/Dc to the list. The band Ac/Dc refuses to sell their music to Apple’s Itunes because they feel “they make albums, not hit singles”. What they mean is that they feel that all their music is a work of art to listen through an entire album all at once, they don’t want fans just choosing one or two songs they like off the album to listen to when they should listen to an entire album. That is what Angus Young is talking about and why he hates Itunes.

In other words, fans shouldn’t concentrate on listening to just “hit singles” only, when they really should be listening to an entire album.

More on it here:

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=105549

Angus is dead on right, I agree with him 100%. 🙂

I have noticed a lot of people out there only concentrate on “hit singles” when buying albums or just picking their favorite songs to listen to on the album instead of listening to the whole thing.

That is not me when I listen to music.

When I listen to music, I always listen throughout the entire album, I am not picky and choosy with songs, I normally listen to an entire album.

Those that concentrate on hit radio singles only, have no clue on what music is supposed to be about. I’m not a radio hit single guy either, never was.

The Listening Room: New Ac/Dc track from new album “War Machine”…

Ac/Dc uploaded another new song from their new album “Black Ice”. The new song is titled “War Machine”.

Listen to it here at the band’s official site:

http://www.acdcrocks.com/

My thoughts?

It fucking rocks! Definitely better than “Rock N’ Roll Train”!!! In “War Machine” Brian Johnson sounds almost exactly like Bon Scott when he’s singing! How fuckin’ cool is that! Yeah!

I’m really looking forward to “Black Ice” now!
