Tim Burton and Michael Keaton have both been planning a “Beetlejuice 2” in the media for many years, and it looks like the film might actually happen soon. Reports are saying that Mr. Burton is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to direct the follow-up to “Beetlejuice” that was released in 1988 (also starring Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis). They already have a script written by Seth Grahame-Smith for the sequel.
The plot of the sequel is unknown at this time but I hope it’s a “sequel” and not another lame re-boot. I hope the next film will leave off from the 1988 film.
It still might be a few more years until this movie actually happens ’cause Mr. Burton still has a few other projects in the works so “Beetlejuice 2” maybe a while. I’m glad this is happening ’cause I’m a huge fan of “Beetlejuice” myself. Michael just kills it with that role! I’m sure he’ll still kill it when he comes back to it! Michael maybe 62 but I’m sure he can still play the character very well. It’s gonna be interesting to see how they’re gonna pull off the sequel, though. Lets just hope they don’t do another version of the Banana Boat Song.
Also watch the older interviews in the videos below where Michael and Tim briefly discussed interest of revisiting the Beetlejuice character. They seem pretty game for it!
