“Beetlejuice” sequel is on the way from Warner Bros. and Tim Burton???

Tim Burton and Michael Keaton have both been planning a “Beetlejuice 2” in the media for many years, and it looks like the film might actually happen soon. Reports are saying that Mr. Burton is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to direct the follow-up to “Beetlejuice” that was released in 1988 (also starring Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis). They already have a script written by Seth Grahame-Smith for the sequel.

The plot of the sequel is unknown at this time but I hope it’s a “sequel” and not another lame re-boot. I hope the next film will leave off from the 1988 film.

It still might be a few more years until this movie actually happens ’cause Mr. Burton still has a few other projects in the works so “Beetlejuice 2” maybe a while. I’m glad this is happening ’cause I’m a huge fan of “Beetlejuice” myself. Michael just kills it with that role! I’m sure he’ll still kill it when he comes back to it! Michael maybe 62 but I’m sure he can still play the character very well. It’s gonna be interesting to see how they’re gonna pull off the sequel, though. Lets just hope they don’t do another version of the Banana Boat Song.

Also watch the older interviews in the videos below where Michael and Tim briefly discussed interest of revisiting the Beetlejuice character. They seem pretty game for it!

Report: Author, Seth Grahame-Smith penning script for new, “Beetlejuice”, movie? Also, Michael Keaton and Tim Burton might come back as well…

The author of, “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”, and ,”Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”, wants to write the script for a new “Beetlejuice” movie, but wouldn’t say if it will be sequel of the first movie or a re-boot.

Tim Burton says he is game for directing “Beetlejuice” again, and best of all, Michael Keaton wants to return to the character.

I’m all for a sequel to, “Beetlejuice”. I’ve always wondered why the film was left with only one movie, when I know you can tell more stories with this character. A sequel should have been made years ago.

I’m sure Michael is going to get accused by many that he will be too old to play Beetlejuice, but the character wore a lot of makeup, so you won’t notice his aging anyway. I’m pretty sure he can still do the Beetlejuice voice, very well. The 1988, “Beetlejuice” film, was awesome.

The question is, will Winona Ryder and Alec Baldwin come back? A cameo would be okay for them, but leading roles no.

RIP: Glenn Shadix 1952 – 2010

Former, “Beetlejuice” star, known for his famous role of Otho, the big guy with the black suit and red tie, Glenn Shadix, has died. He died at his Birmingham, Alabama home when he fell off his wheelchair and hit his head in the kitchen. He died of blunt force trauma to the head. He was made famous because of the hit scene in “Beetlejuice”, where he sings and dances to Harry Belafonte’s song “Day-O” with the Deetz family. He was also openly gay.

He not only starred in “Beetlejuice”, he had a handful of other movie roles. He also had a role in Stallone’s “Demolition Man”, he was in Stephen King’s “Sleepwalkers”, he was in Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas” and had a role in Tim Burton’s “Planet of the Apes” remake. So yes, Glenn worked with Tim Burton more than once. I believe he was forced to retire from acting because of his health problems on a wheelchair.

RIP, Glenn, much respects to a talented and underrated actor.

I too am a huge fan of “Beetlejuice” film. I think it’s Keaton’s best role over Batman, in my opinion. It would be awesome if Keaton would reprise the role again. Michael Keaton needs to return to the mainstream of movies, because he hasn’t done a huge mainstream flick since ’98’s “Jack Frost”. Everything else he did after that were flops.

People would think Michael Keaton would be too old to be playing “Beetlejuice” again, but with today’s technology of Hollywood make-up, think how much better the Beetlejuice character would look like now than back in the 90’s. Plus it would be awesome if the original cast came back, including Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, and Jeffrey Jones. Used to watch “Beetlejuice” obsessively when I was a kid. Such an awesome movie.
