NBC Nightly News head anchor Brian Williams will take over Tim Russert for “Meet the Press” only for the weekend. A permament host has not been confirmed. It is not yet decided if Williams will host “Meet the Press” for the entire weekend. It could last for a couple of days.

How much do you want to bet that the permament host will be no one other than Tom Brokaw? Brokaw and Russert has been best friends for years so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if Brokaw does become Russert’s official replacement. Brokaw seems like the best choice anyway.

As everyone knows, these cable tv reporters are like vicious tomcats in heat. They all want to fight each other for Tim Russert’s job for sure.
He’s like a piece of meat to them. I bet Katie COuric and Dan Rather and Walter Croncrites and Alan Colmbes will probably all want to get that top job back from Tim Russert.
He was cool and wrote a good book about his dad and was more of a local celebrity to Albany that that joker-lookalike Rachel Ray from all the way north of Lake George. Buffalo is barely farther than her old house for sure so forget her.
I dont think anyone should take over the new job. It should always be temporary people who arent professionals. Just in case they want to take it all over. Real people should do that job because no one could compete with Tim Russert’s shoes.
