More thoughts on P90x…

If I had anything positive to say about P90x, anything at all, here is something. I’ll admit that the P90x DVD instructional packets can help you lose some weight and gain a little muscle, sure, but it’s certainly not going to make you look like those buffed guys you see in the Calvin Klein commercials. That is why people fall for P90x. They think that stuff is going to turn them into a male supermodel. If you want that male supermodel look, the hot and sexy look that women drool over, the transformation. P90x won’t do that for you, I’m sorry. The key to getting that hollywood buffed look is in the weight room and in the kitchen.

I truly believe it’s possible you can look like those guys you see in the magazines, commercials, and movies…it just takes a lot of research, knowledge and dedication. Do I want that look? The supermodel look? Not really. My goal is to look like a tough guy. I want the wrestler and action star type of look. That’s the look I’m going for. When you get into fitness, you must have a goal and a vision in your head of what you want to look like for your transformation.

BREAKING NEWS: Power Balance admits their wristbands are fake!!!

I’ve said it so many times, people. Don’t trust every product in the fitness industry. Some products in the fitness industry do work and some don’t. The makers of the Power Balance wristbands that claim they are to enhance your performance, improve strength, flexibility and balance, admits it’s all a lie.

More on the story, here.

If you want to improve strength, flexibility and balance. You don’t go through these fake gimmicks. To improve your goals, you learn stuff like yoga or martial arts. Yoga or martial arts will indeed improve strength, flexibility and balance.

Will BeachBody ever admit that “10 Minute Trainer” or “P90x” doesn’t work? No. As long as they are making billions of dollars, they’ll keep ripping people off.

Pull ups…

I read somewhere in a certain blog, that somebody had trouble doing pull ups for the first time. This person couldn’t do one single pull up because it was too strong. Well, this certain person need to not worry. When I first started doing pull ups, I couldn’t do them for shit either. When I first started bodybuilding, I could only do one or two reps. That was it.  Now I can do ten reps or a little more. Why am I able to do more pull ups now? Probably ’cause I have been doing fitness for over a year and have gotten more strength. Keep doing the pull ups, you’ll be able to do more in the future. It takes time and practice to do good pull ups. Don’t want to do pull ups on a chair, that’s just exercising your legs and not your back. When you get into fitness and can’t do pull ups, don’t blame yourself. You’re just getting started, that’s what it is.

When you get into fitness, and people disagree with you on how you do things, people will point it out to you. That’s how fitness goes. You don’t run away and whine about it. You accept it and learn to get better. Take people’s advice and learn to deal with the critics. If you can’t take criticism, then fitness isn’t for you.

You’re not going to get a ripped physique with P90x. When you complete that program, you’ll be disappointed at the end.

I try to help others and give people advice with fitness the best I can. Of course, there will be some people that think I’m the badguy ’cause I’m too “honest” and they couldn’t take the truth. At least I tried to help. You need to have a good and positive attitude in fitness. If you’re going to be negative about yourself in fitness, then you wouldn’t get anywhere.

Kev

Edit to add: On another note, doing pull ups while standing on a chair is very very dangerous, it could fall out from under you and you could do a crash landing onto the floor, could get you badly injured. What was this guy thinking when he tried to use a chair to do pull ups on? Bad move. Idiotic, I must say.

Why I disagree with P90x so much…

So you’ve seen me slamming this fitness product, P90x so much, and you wonder why I disagree with it? Well here’s the answer. #1 The product claims, it’ll help you get ripped in 90 days. #2 I feel that P90x makes it seem too easy for people. In other words, it’s for people with no experience with fitness. People don’t want to look up other information about fitness but they rely on P90x only instead. People think they’re going to get ripped and huge, look like Arnold or Sly in 90 days.

This DVD instruction is laughable because there is no possible way you can get ripped in a quick 90 days. It’s all a phony, a huge lie. P90x is fake, all the way. The reality is, it takes years to lose bodyfat and to get the jacked body everyone wants. You maybe able to get a decent small built in a year like I did, but if you want to look like Arnold and Sly, that will take like 10-20 years or more.

I hate P90X, and anybody that gets excited to using it, is a total loser in my opinion. Go ahead and use P90x. When you complete the P90x program, I’m willing to bet you will still look the same, no matter how strict you followed their course.

Good eating, is the only way to get ripped…

Have you been working out for a year or so and haven’t been making any progress at all in your bodybuilding dreams? You’re still kind of fat and not lean? Well I think the obvious answer to that one is, you’re probably not eating good. Your nutrition is terrible. I’ve seen so many people workout and they think they can eat what they want. Bodybuilding doesn’t work that way. Eating good and healthy is the only way to build muscle and lose the fat. Having plenty of protein and healthy “carbs”, eat some good fibers along with it too. Mix it up. I like to mix up a variety of healthy foods. This is how I am able to get muscles successfully ’cause of good eating. Yes, you must eat healthy almost all the time.

Yes, you’re gonna miss eating junk food and high sugary stuff, but you have to change your lifestyle and avoid that stuff completely. I eat healthy Monday-Friday, and on weekends, I eat whatever I want. That’s how I do my nutrition routine. I’ve read that you can have 1 or 2 days a week of cheat meals on the weekends, but that still doesn’t mean you can eat whatever. My cheat meals on the weekends would either be pizza, chinese food or eating out at restaurants. Then back to eating healthy again during the week.

Not a lot of people like eating healthy, but once you get into eating good, you’ll start to like it more and get used to it. Once you get into eating healthy, it’ll make you never want to eat junk food again. Like it happened to me.

You want to get a six pack? It’s not gonna help if you continue to eat fast food, drink beer, and candy. You have to give up all that. To get low bodyfat percentage, you must eat more fruits, vegetables, chicken, fish, cottage cheese, etc. The usual stuff that all bodybuilders eat. Watching your calories and avoiding sugars. I’m doing the best I can and still learning nutrition everyday. I’ve been avoiding a lot of food I don’t agree with and will only eat healthy during the week. I eat a few cheats on the weekends to help gain some more pounds and get it off next week. It’s okay to eat junk food once in a while, just don’t over do it.

Eating good is key to getting the buffed physique that everybody wants. I have a few family Christmas parties to go to this weekend, and yes, I’ll probably get off the healthy nutrition for a few days and pig out at the parties. Just something to keep in mind people. If you want to get into fitness, you have to change your eating ways. A lot of people have this problem and that’s why they fail at fitness. A lot of natural bodybuilders are successful at it ’cause they eat nothing but healthy food all the time. Think about it a while.

Inspiring others in the fitness world…

Another reason I got into fitness, is not just for myself. I also got into it hoping to inspire others to get fit and to get healthy. I’m not looking to be an online fitness guru and probably never will be. I want to inspire local people, family members and friends around my life. Just by using my blog and using facebook to show my passion for fitness and to give out fitness tips & advice to people. Even if people are not into fitness and working out at all, I’ll do this stuff anyway. I know some people that are already into fitness and they even seem impressed that I already know so much about fitness that they didn’t know about yet. For example, I like to teach people how to get ripped at very low cost or for free, I like to give people nutrition tips and workouts that people don’t know yet. Things like that. Some people may or may not like your fitness tips, but keep doing it. It’ll get them motivated to get into it soon enough, just give it time.

It is why I post a lot of shirtless pics online and do silly bodybuilding poses. I’m even a little embarrassed about that stuff myself, but it’s worth it. It’s not only to show off my physique, it’s another good way to help others get motivated. My physique may not be at it’s best right now, but my body will look a lot better in the next couple of years, I’m sure. I know I get some mixed opinions on my physique. Some say I look great, and some said I look like a creep. If you’re having a lot of responses and having mixed opinions by the public, you’re doing something right. If you put out shirtless pics of yourself when you’re into fitness and if you get no response, then you must be doing something wrong.

People may find you weird that you changed your lifestyle. The way you do things and changing your eating habits, but you must do what you do to get the body of your dreams. The key to getting a great body is staying committed to it, no matter what gets in your way.

Whenever I’m ready, sometime in the future, I’ll do a professional photoshoot to do progress pics with a better camera in a photo studio. That way you can see more muscle definition with camera lighting and all that stuff. I’m going to wait for a better physique on that though. Whenever I get bigger chest pecs and a full six pack, then I’ll do the professional photoshoot. It is not for a modeling job, believe me. It’s just for better progress pics for the internet, that’s it. I’m just not good at taking progress pics by myself, and would like to do it with a professional photographer, sometime in the future. I know it’ll cost some cash, but it’ll be worth it.

Report: Hugh Jackman ordered to gain 25 lbs of muscle for “Wolverine” sequel…

Director, Darren Aronofsky ordered Huck Jackman, that he needs to add 25 lbs of muscle, for the next, “Wolverine” film, before they start filming in the Spring. Jackman admits that is going to be very difficult for him to do. He couldn’t figure out how he would do it. So what does he do to find out how? He calls up Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to get fitness advice from. Dwayne gained 25 lbs. of muscle quickly for his role of his new movie, “Faster”. The secret is build muscle for six pound a week, 6,000 calories a day. That means a lot of eating and a lot of hard work in the gym.

I know some people are going to say that this is impossible to do. No one could add 25 lbs of muscle in that quick period of time, but believe it or not, it can be done successfully. How can it be done? Well, I think Hugh Jackman is gonna do a lot of work. Do a lot of brutal training. That means, lots of heavy lifting. Doing lots of cardio. Eating a lot of protein and calories. Maybe supplements too if he plans on doing that. I’m sure Hugh Jackman will hire personal trainers to help him reach that goal.

Jackman is a very built guy, but looks like Aronofsky, wants him to be even more jacked for this role. Sounds like this is going to be a violent action movie. More violent than the last Wolverine movie.

It is possible to gain lbs. of muscle in a quick period of time…because I did it myself. Maybe not 25lbs in one whole year, but I know I gained a 8-10 lbs of muscle quickly. When I first got into bodybuilding, I weighed about 140 lbs. Now I’m 150 lbs, exact. I’m not fat ’cause I eat good and do a lot of cardio, so I know I’m gaining muscle big time. People assume it takes years to build a good physique but if you do it right, you can get some good muscle in a year.

I’m sure Jackman would do this with no problem at all!

Fitness goals for 2011…

Some may wonder what my fitness goals are for 2011. My goal is that I will try my best to keep going in fitness, non stop all year round. Try to get bigger and muscular. Hopefully get a chest improvement and lower bodyfat some. I’m just going to keep doing what I do. I know I’m successful at fitness because it seems that the word, “muscles” is my new nickname. A lot of people are starting to call me, “muscles” instead of Kev. If you want people to start calling you “muscles”, you gotta work hard and not give up. I also hope to keep going throughout the year without any injuries and get better at nutrition.

I love fitness. It’s the best thing that ever happened in my life. I just want to be a natural bodybuilder, get that natural look. I’m not going to tan or look like those guys you see at bodybuilding competitions, I don’t want that look. I just want to look good being half naked in front of people and not be afraid of it anymore, you know, not being afraid to take my shirt off in public. Fitness is helping me feel more confident being shirtless more often during the summer and warm weather. Do I want to attract the ladies? Maybe so. That’s one of the reasons most guys want into fitness for, right? Sure. I’ll admit that’s pretty much one of the reasons I wanted into fitness & bodybuilding. Plus, most importantly, get healthier and look better.

On Dec. 31st, I’ll post new progress pics, along with older ones, so I can do before & after stuff. Be on the lookout for that.

Being able to take criticism in the fitness world…

Some people can take honest criticism in the fitness world and some people can’t. When you can’t, you get all pissed off and defensive when someone tells you that you are doing things wrong in the fitness world. You think you are doing things correct almost all the time, no matter what people think of you. If that’s the kind of attitude you’re going to have in fitness, then, you have no right to be into fitness to begin with. One thing to keep in mind is that when you get into fitness, you are going to get criticized by people. People will criticize your physique and people will criticize your workouts and your routines.

I have gotten criticized on how I did things. Some people said I did things wrong and said some not so positive things about my physique before, but I can take it like a man. It’s all good to me. That’s what fitness is all about. It’s all about being criticized. Other people will be honest about how you do things, whether you like it or not. That’s how the fitness game goes.

When people are critical about you in the fitness world, it is nothing against you and it’s nothing personal. It is how people get together in the fitness world and help each other out. We all want to get together and help each other build muscle, lose weight or just get healthy. That’s why people get together in the fitness world to help each other out in the community. If people say you do workouts in terrible form, they are going to say it. If you need improvement on certain parts of your body, they will say it. If people disagree with your routines and say you’re doing way too much, oh yes, they will say it. If they disagree with your dieting, they will say it.

If you’re going to start up a fitness blog, posting pictures or go to fitness forums, you’ll have to respect a response. If you don’t like the way people say things and run away from them, and not discuss things with people, then you’re sure not going to be a good coach or a fitness trainer. You’re going to be one who has a huge ego who think they are right all of the time. I am not always right in the fitness world as I still have a lot of learning to do.
