Don’t listen to those who don’t believe in you…

When I first announced that I was getting into fitness and bodybuilding, yep, you bet, I got laughed at and got called delusional. I’ve had plenty of people tell me, you will never be “bodybuilder” or will never be “Mr. Muscle Man”. Well, here I am, Mr. Muscle Man. That is me now. If that is your dream, go for it. People talking negative about your dream is not stopping you for making it come true. ANYBODY CAN GET SHREDDED. If I can do it, so can you. Doesn’t matter your age. Doesn’t matter if you’re good looking or not. No matter the body condition you have, anybody can do it.

I got into it, hoping to become more athletic, become stronger and to look good half naked. I also got into it hoping to get into some kind of sport. I want to get into martial arts at some point. Maybe I will take up boxing or wrestling, who knows. Soon I plan to buy a punching bag and a pair of boxing gloves just to start doing some punching. I at least want to learn some kind of fighting sport. I don’t want to learn to fight people since I’m not a violent person…basically for self defense only. Plus, something fun to do.

I certainly don’t want a career in fitness or sports. I just want to get physical. Get that muscular look for myself. I’ve always wanted it for years and it’s time I start now. It ain’t like I’m going to become a model for women’s magazines or the TV commercials, but I will continue to pose half naked for pics/videos just for fun.

Nothing is stopping you for making your fitness dreams come true. It’s about you. What you want in life. Not anyone else.

Time to beef up my chest…really…

Looking at that video a couple of times, my pecs looks okay but if I want to really impress people with my physique, I really need to beef up my chest a lot more. My goal is to hopefully get a wrestler sized type of chest. I’m noticing my arms and shoulders are really huge, so I will need a bigger chest so it can look right. I will be doing some reading on how to get a massive chest.

I didn’t agree with benching, but it looks like I’m gonna have to do a lot more if I want a bigger chest ’cause honestly, benching is an important way to beef it up. Earlier this week, I did a little benching at the gym. Yes I had a spotter. Only lifted about 55 lbs, next time I plan to do a little more.

If you want to impress a lot of women, gotta concentrate on the chest, ’cause the pecs is what women mostly check out a lot.

Healthy things to do in the summer to have a great time…

Are you someone who is trying to get out of drinking and looking for some fun things to do this summer that does not involve drinking alcohol? Yes, there are ways to have fun without drinking and partying. I don’t drink and don’t party at all anymore like I used to in my younger years. Why do people still think drinking is fun? Why do people think it’s still so cool? It’s not cool and it’s not fun. If you want some ideas on healthy things to do this summer to have a great time, here is a list that I can think of at the top of my head.

  • Go on a vacation – Go to Florida, California, or hell even the Bahamas and Hawaii if you can afford it. Going to the beaches to do some surfing,  swimming, deep sea fishing, sight seeing, whale or dolphin watching, etc. That stuff doesn’t involve alcohol.
  • Go to an amusement fun park – Sixx Flags, Disney World, go to a Zoo, etc. Although those parks may sell alcohol, I’m sure they sell ’em real expensive. No need to drink at those places anyways.
  • Go miniature golfing – this is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. Mini golfing is a blast.
  • Go on a nature hike – good cardio.
  • Play summer sports – get some friends together, play some football, baseball, softball, or even volleyball in your local park.
  • Go to the drive-in movie theaters – another one of my favorite things to do. As long as you eat healthy snacks, stay away from the fatty popcorn.
  • Go boating – Whether you’re in a canoe or on a speed boat, they can be so much fun as long as you don’t have a cooler full of beer.
  • Workout outside – You don’t always have to do workouts at your local fitness gym or at home. You can workout anywhere. If it’s nice and hot outside, bring your workout equipment outside if you have to, even a few dumb bells. Bring your workout equipment to your local park, pump some iron in public and impress people in front of them.
  • Go shopping – You may hate to spend money, but as long as you have it, why keep it? Spend a whole day shopping, whatever you want. You’ll feel great after you did it.
  • Visit musuems – Visiting musuems is another one of my favorite things to do. I love to go visit art musuems, history musuems, science musuems, etc. It’s really cool stuff.

You get the idea. People look at having fun that involves drinking all the time. It doesn’t have to be. The more you do alcohol free related activities, the more it’ll help get your mind of the booze. I’m so glad I got off the beer fast. I would hate to become an alcoholic like most people out there.

Summer is just about here…to be summer ready…

I am feeling so fit that I just felt the need to do some summer clothes shopping. In the past, I always wore t-shirts in the summer. Now I’m probably going to start wearing wifebeater shirts and sleeveless shirts all summer long. Maybe I’ll even be shirtless more often outside this summer, not just being shirtless when swimming, I’m talking about being shirtless out in the public in town when jogging or whatever. Summer’s a great time for fitness people and it’s about time that it’s here.

I plan to start learning new workouts soon ’cause I don’t want to be doing the same ones. I’m always looking online and stuff for new workouts to do. Don’t want your body and muscles to be bored doing the same ones. One way to help get muscle gains is varying your workouts each week which is what I do. I would like to try the deadlift sometime and I’ll have someone teach me how to do it at the gym this summer. If I’m going to do more barbell stuff, I’m going need a spotter (someone to watch me). I can do dumb bell stuff with no spotter ’cause those are easy. I plan to change my program around a little bit this summer. Maybe do more barbells and learn some kettle bell stuff which is I don’t know how to do yet. I just want to try different things.

I hope to do more swimming this year ’cause swimming is a fantastic cardio and fat burning exercise. I was reccomended to take ‘Omega 3 – Fish Oil” supplement pills, that’s really cool stuff. It’s tasteless, but it’s very good for muscle gains and fat burning. It helps make you healthier inside and helps avoid depression as well. “Fish Oil” also helps prevent cancer too. So it’s one of the good supplements to take. I’d reccomend that stuff to you as well.

Attracting women with fitness…

I’m not afraid to say that one of the reasons I do this is to hopefully attract more women…especially the cuter and hotter looking women. Isn’t this one of the most popular reasons most men get into fitness for? I believe so. I read that the body part that most women are most attracted to in bodybuilding are the arms. Women like those big arms sticking out of your t-shirt. They also like the six pack which is their second choice. I haven’t had much women give me feedback and comments on my physique yet.  A few did, but not a whole lot of ’em.

Some may claim that fitness helps people get hooked up with a significant other faster. In a way, it can be true, but if you don’t get hit on by a woman in public, don’t worry about it. Just keep working on the fitness. The better you look and the bigger you are, who knows, a cute looking woman out there somewhere will become obsessed with you in no time. I hope it happens, but I’m not gonna worry about it. If I don’t attract women at all, no matter how muscular I get, I’m fine with that. I’ll just keep doing what I do.

I hope more women would comment on my physique sometime in the future ’cause I would feel kind of weird if mostly guys are going to keep giving me feedback, lol.

Blaming the government/politics for obesity…

A lot of people online lately have been blaming the US government and politics for child and adult obesity. Michelle Obama is out there trying to fight obesity and so is Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger with his “Fit Challenge” month in Facebook/twitter.

Do not blame the US Government and politics for people becoming fat. I’ve said it plenty of times in this blog. The food you eat does affect your body, no matter what it is. Obesity happens because people think they can eat things at random and people don’t think they can become overweight. Look what happened to Kirstie Alley and Kevin Federline, two celebrities  who both probably had a horrible nutrition which is why they turned out to be who they are now. Another reason people get fat, is not enough exercise. Lazy people who sit around and eat all day.

I certainly don’t want to head there…I certainly don’t want to become a fat ass. Which is what also inspired me to get into bodybuilding.

So who is the real person to blame for obesity? Yourself. That’s right, you. Blaming others for obesity is silly.

The truth is there is no way for the US to fight obesity. It is the person’s responsibility if they want to lose the weight and get inspired to get into fitness. The truth maybe tough and I’m sure those that are overweight who are reading this don’t want to hear this truth, but anything that will talk you into get into fitness and get in shape. Anybody can lose the weight, easily with no problem. Just got to learn how to do it, take pride and passion in it.

Thought: A couple of reasons why I disagree with barbell on a bench…

So I’ve been slamming the idea of bodybuilders laying on a bench and doing these heavy barbell presses while pushing the bar up in the air. I’ve never explained why in detail really, so here is my take on why I find barbell pressing pretty foolish.

No. 1 – I find it nothing more of a showoff of other bodybuilders, big time. It’s like, “GGggggrrrrrrrrrrr….I can lift 350 lbs barbell on a bench and you can’t, bwahahahaha…”. I look at it as bodybuilders trying to impress other people in the gym.

No 2. – I find it as a cover up that they are not real good at fitness like they think they are.

No. 3 – It is a brutal workout and it could kill your energy doing other workouts. Especially your cardio.

There you have it. Those are reasons why I disagree with it. I know plenty of great chest exercises that is way better than benching. It is possible to get huge chest pecs without benching. It’s not really important and not needed. I’ll probably do benching like once in a blue moon when really needed.

I don’t workout to impress people and not to show off how I tough and cool I look. I do it to become an athletic person. In high school, I never played sports so this is my chance to become athletic.

Training with intensity and brutality…

One way I got the fit physique in a short period of time is training with intensity. That is one way to do it. I mean with “intensity”. Means being brutal in your training. That’s not by doing light weights and doing less reps all the time. I mean workin out fuckin’ hard! I like going with the intensity. Doing the full 10 reps nonstop, with only 30 seconds rest in between, that’s it. With intensity, you want to sweat like a pig and breathing really hard after a workout. Making one last rep being hard to lift. That’s intensity. You might feel a little sore a few days, but you want to feel a little sore. Not pain, but a little sore is okay ’cause it means your muscles are working. You’re feeling the burn. That’s what it’s doing. That’s what you want to do. I would like to film myself working out to show how “intense” I like to train but I don’t have a camera person to hold the camera for me at the gym. I will try to get someone to do it very soon. I do plan on making workout videos soon, I just need someone I know to volunteer to videotape my workout sessions, I will get someone on my own. I’ll get someone from Greenwich to be my camera man.

I probably won’t be doing barbell presses on a bench that much, probably hardly at all ’cause honestly, I find it kind of silly to me and a little weak. People think benching is important in bodybuilding but I’ve read that if you don’t want to do it, then you don’t have to. There are plenty of other chest exercises that can work your pecs even stronger than a bench. I find pushups and dumbell flies/presses to do the trick, I like those better.

I love being fit and healthy. It is definitely a huge life changer. I have gotten so strict on my nutrition than ever before. I avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup at all costs now, at least I try to. I recently discovered Quinoa to add to my nutritional health programs. I’ve been looking online for recipes to make Quinoa with. Quinoa is the best meal for bodybuilding. High in protein and high in Iron. Just got some from the store, but you can’t eat it like that, gotta have a recipe with it. Can use it for either breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even a before bed snack. There are plenty of Quinoa recipes online and trying to decide what looks good to me.

I’m starting to blog at night only now ’cause I like to do other things during the day. Not only working my day job, but also do fitness, guitar playing, video games, etc. Like to keep myself busy. I got some news to catch up on to post tonight.
