More on Quentin Tarantino’s use of the “n” word…

Since people are still calling out Quentin Tarantino for his use of the “N” word for “Django Unchained”, really? Why get on his ass now, when Tarantino has been using the “n” word for pretty much just about every one of his movies? He’s been using the “N” word ever since his first film, “Reservoir Dogs“. The “N” word is also all over, “Pulp Fiction“. He used it in, “Jackie Brown” a lot too! How come nobody got on his ass back then? Huh? Answer me that one. Tarantino has been having black actors in his films for years, too! So why get on him about this now? Fucking please!

His movies maybe full of foul mouthed dialogue throughout the films, but that’s Tarantino. His movies maybe full of swearing and nasty words, yes, but I think that’s how he talks in real life. His movies shows who he is.

I’m not sure why he uses, the “N” word a lot in all of his movies, but I think he has his reasons. I don’t think he uses the “N” word because he’s racist, I think he makes his movies for mostly the black audience, in his defense. If you noticed, a lot of his movies seemed to be aimed at black people for their entertainment. They weren’t meant to be offensive.

On top of all this, as far as “Django Unchained” goes, people just don’t understand the history of black slaves. That word was used a lot back then, and it wasn’t considered a racist term during that time, like I said before. Quentin probably already knew he was going to get some heat with the use of that word in “Django”, but he had to do what ever it took to make that movie right. If you do your research, the “n” word actually originated from black slaves, that’s where it came from. So he’s right on the money for using that word. He’s not racist. He’s just doing whatever makes sense for film. It was just appropriate.

I’m also real tired of people getting on his ass about gun control every time a mass shooting happens. It’s idiotic.

Leave the guy alone, already people! He’s just a film maker and a storyteller. He’s a genius. Let him do what he wants to do. He knows what he’s doing. Without the foul mouthed, bad language in his films, then his movies wouldn’t have mattered.

Film Review: “Django Unchained”…

Today, I finally saw, Tarantino’s newest film, “Django Unchained” and here is my review.

Plot/synopsis: Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz), a former Dentist, buys the freedom of slave, Django. Then he trains him to become a deputy bounty hunter, so Django can go rescue his kidnapped wife who is being held by a ruthless plantation owner, Calvin Candie (Leonardo Dicaprio).

As you can see, the plot, is simple, and straight forward. Tarantino has been wanting to make a Western film for years and he finally got around to making that opportunity to do one. Just like with “Inglorious Basterds”, Tarantino re-writes history again. A re-telling of history in his own take. This film takes place two years before the Civil War, happens. Of course, this film is going to spark controversy in the news, with the constant use of the “n” word, in which Spike Lee wrongly and unfairly criticized. In Tarantino’s mind, back in those days, the “n” word wasn’t really considered a racist term back then. Spike maybe offended by the use of the “n” word in the film but apparently all the black actors in the film, including Jamie Foxx, seems to have no problem with it.

On with the film, I was very entertained throughout. It was at least 3 hours like most Tarantino flicks, but I wasn’t bored one bit. Tarantino has always been great at the pacing. His movies may seem long, but once you see it, the film won’t feel like it’s 3 hours.

All the characters were very enjoyable. Jamie Foxx as Django was badass, and Leo Dicaprio made a badass villian. Christoph Waltz delivered a great performance like always. There were a few surprising cameo appearances in the film, though. Don Johnson made a cameo. Jonah Hill made a cameo, and even though his role was small, he did a good job. Of course, Tarantino himself has a cameo. What I admired the most, was Kerry Washington, playing Django’s wife. She didn’t have any dialogue in the film. The camera just pointed at her a lot. I don’t think the script had any lines for her or anything. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Not only this film was a spaghetti Western, it also seemed like it was a comedy, ’cause there were hilarious scenes throughout. Tarantino seems to know his shit with Westerns ’cause the film was made like it was a real Western. If you want a modern day Clint Eastwood, spaghetti Western, for example, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”, this film is it. The film locations were Old West like, and all the costumes were Old West like too.

With all this being said, this is one of the best films of this year. It’ll probably make that list somewhere, definitely pretty high up there. It is also Tarantino’s best film and it’s definitely BEST PICTURE worthy for the Oscars. I really hope this film makes “BEST PICTURE”. It probably won’t ’cause the Academy has never been friendly with violent movies too much. “Django Unchained” was an amazing movie. I wasn’t bored. Whether you’re a fan of Tarantino films or Westerns, you would love this film. Tarantino did it again. He never disappoints. Do yourself a favor and see this flick!

Why Quentin Tarantino is the greatest film maker alive…

There are a lot of great film makers out there, but Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorites. He’s the best of them all, in my opinion. He can do it all. He’s a good director, writer, and actor. I love all of his movies from “Reservoir Dogs”, “Pulp Fiction”, “Jackie Brown”, the two Kill Bill films, Death Proof, and of course, “Inglourious Basterds” (which is his best film, btw). The man takes film making seriously. He’s honest. He takes his time with his work and he really shows his passion for it. He is a great storyteller and creates interesting and memorable characters.

I can’t wait to see his next movie, “Django Unchained”. I just read his interview in this month’s PLayboy magazine with Marilyn Monroe on the cover, and if you want to see what this guy is all about, read that interview. His movies are just inspiring, insightful, and entertaining at the same time. He does take forever in between films to release a new one, but that’s good. That’s part of why his movies are good ’cause he takes his time with them, unlike many other directors.

I’ve been a Tarantino fan for years and still am. I’ll always stay loyal to the guy. Quentin, is an interesting guy, even though he is a bit crazy but in a good way. In almost every Tarantino film, you can always tell that he loves women ’cause he’s always giving female characters the spotlight, where they will steal the show. You will also see foot fetish cameos in every film. You will also see that he is great at choosing songs for the soundtracks of the films, which is what he is best at is music for his own movies.

Quentin said that he plans on retiring from film at 60, which is understandable ’cause he doesn’t have to work anymore if he doesn’t want to. He’s a rich man from his career. He’s a pretty talented guy. It sucks we have to wait ’til Christmas for “Django Unchained”. Wish it was out a little bit earlier, but it’s understandable with “The Hobbit” out next month and they don’t want to compete with that film. With that being said, Quentin Tarantino is the fucking man. He’d be an interesting guy to meet in person for sure.

Things to watch out for in this film: 1. Foot fetish cameos 2. An actress to steal the show (most likely Kerry Washington will have a scene that will make the audience go crazy, Tarantino is usually good at giving women the best scenes) 3. Tarantino to give himself a cameo in this movie?

I really can’t wait for this movie. I’m a huge Tarantino fan, love all of his movies, that includes, “Jackie Brown”, and “Death Proof”, they’re both great films as well.

Report: And Tarantino’s leading lady for “Django Unchained” is…

….Kerry Washington. Yep, she has been officially hired for Tarantino’s next flick, “Django Unchained”. She will play alongside Kurt Russell, Don Johnson and others in the flick. Kerry is most famous for her roles in “Save the Last Dance”, and “Ray”, in which she played Ray Charles wife in that film.

Like the article says, Tarantino has always been well known to write strong characters for women over the years, and I agree. In some weird and creepy way, Tarantino is the best at writing characters for women. In every film he does, it’s the female character that makes you want to pay attention to the most. Like Uma Thurman in “Pulp Fiction”, and “Kill Bill”. Pam Grier in “Jackie Brown”, you can also add Melanie Laurent and Diane Kruger for “Inglourious Basterds”.

This Broomhilda character, for “Django Unchained”, will probably end up stealing the show than most characters.

Kerry Washington, is a freakin’ hottie, though. Wow, what a stunning beauty! Yes, I dig black women, I would even date one if I could.

Report: Kurt Russell to replace Kevin Costner for Tarantino’s “Django Unchained”…

Kurt Russell will re-team with Quentin Tarantino once again for, “Django Unchained”. Kevin Costner was going to play a role in, “Django” but was forced to pull out due to his hectic work schedule for, “Man of Steel”, in which Costner plays Jonathan Kent in the film.

Well, look like Kurt is definitely not going to be in, “The Expendables” sequel if he’s going to sign on to this. Maybe he will join the Expendables cast for a possible cameo, though, who knows. I would like Kurt to be part of the Expendables movie too, but it is pretty cool he is re-teaming with Tarantino again.

Report: Will Smith and Quentin Tarantino to team up for the first time for “Django Unchained”???

The iconic film director, Quentin Tarantino, finally announced his next film that he just wrote and will direct for the big screen. His next film is titled, “Django Unchained” which will be a western film. Tarantino wants Will Smith to star in the leading role. Tarantino describes that this movie will be a popcorn and revenge flick. This will be the follow up film from 2009’s, “Inglourious Basterds”.

Christoph Waltz who won an Oscar from “Inglourious Basterds”, is set to re-team with Tarantino by having a role for, “Django Unchained”. Samuel L. Jackson is also in negotiations to have a role in the film too.

While I’m a huge fan of Tarantino movies, I love them all, I just don’t like Will Smith too much. I find Will Smith overrated as hell and his acting doesn’t grab me at all. I’ll see it in theater if I like the trailer enough. If not, then it will be a wait for DVD thing. I expect this movie “Django Unchained” to be 2 1/2 – 3 hours long. Everyone knows most Tarantino movies are very long films. What’s amazing about Tarantino’s work, is that even if the films are long, they won’t seem that long when you actually watch it because of the film’s pacing. His movies usually go by pretty fast. I expect the same will happen with this flick.

The sad thing is, that Sally Menke, Tarantino’s longtime editor won’t be a part of this film because of her death obviously. So the editing style maybe a little different with a different editor.
