I think “The Dark Tower” trailer looks pretty sick, in my opinion, I’ll give it a chance…

So “The Dark Tower” trailer is finally out. I’m a huge fan of the Dark Tower books. I’m not a big fan of Stephen King’s politics and don’t like how he’s a Trump hater but despite all that, I’m still a fan of his work and his movie adaptations too.

This trailer is getting mostly negative reviews from what I’ve seen… actually the reviews are pretty much mixed but in my opinion, I think the trailer is fucking awesome.

A lot of people are like, “To those who read the book, will be upset”… I’ve read the book. In fact, I’ve read the book several times over the years of my life as “The Gunslinger” is one of Stephen King’s best books, in my opinion. From what I’ve seen in the trailer, it is pretty faithful to “The Gunslinger”, don’t listen to the critics.

Some of you ask, why doesn’t Roland Deschain (played by Idris Elba) have the hat which is depicted in the artwork of the books? Well in “The Gunslinger” novel, I think Roland lost the hat and doesn’t get a new one ’til in the later books. I don’t want to reveal any major spoilers, of course but I’ll leave it at that. Some are already asking where are Eddie and Susan, a married couple who are part of the second ka-tet? Well you won’t see them two until “The Drawing of Three” which is the second Dark Tower book so you probably won’t see them until the second movie. The first movie is an adaptation of “The Gunslinger” novel.

In the beginning of this trailer, you see Roland shooting at some creatures which are called the “slow mutants” just like “The Gunslinger” novel. The story is about Roland Deschain who is in search for the Man in Black whose name is Walter (a character who Matt McConaughey plays).

Once again from what I’ve seen of the “Dark Tower” trailer is pretty faithful to “The Gunslinger” novel. I’m gonna have to re-read the novel again before the movie comes out.

I’m definitely willing to give this one a chance and will see this one. I’m looking forward to seeing the “It” remake too. They both look real good! I’m so glad that “The Dark Tower” movie is finally here after all these years. I’ve been waiting for it for a pretty long time!

The big screen version of Stephen King’s “The Stand” will be 4 parts and Matt McConaughey set to play Randall Flagg!!!

Even more good movie news, the big screen version of “The Stand” based upon the book by Stephen King will be split into 4 parts. “The Fault In Our Stars” director, Josh Boone will helm the big screen version of “The Stand”. Matt McConaughey have also been signed to play the film’s main villain, Randall Flagg which is gonna be awesome!!!

I remember seeing the mini-series version of “The Stand” on TV w/ Gary Sinise in the leading role and I remember it being pretty good.

I’m excited for Matt McConaughey playing Randall Flagg. Randall Flagg is a very popular Stephen King villain. Matt have been my favorite actor for a long while now. I’ve been impressed with him as of late. I loved Matt’s acting in movies like “Interstellar”, “The Wolf Of Wall Street” and “Killer Joe”. “The Lincoln Lawyer” was a pretty good movie too.

I think Matt’s gonna make a great, Randall Flagg. He’s gonna kill that role. Some of you out there may have not seen Matt play a villain before but he did play a villain in a movie before. Check out his movie, “Killer Joe” and you would see that he can play a great villain that makes you want to hate him.

Why is the big screen movie gonna be 4 parts? It’s because the novel is pretty thick. If they made it one movie, it would be a long movie so they would have to split in parts so they can fit the whole story as much as possible.

I’m gonna have to re-read “The Stand” novel. Haven’t read it in a long time.

Film Review: “Interstellar”

Starring: Matt McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, John Lithgow
Directed by Christopher Nolan

Today, I’ve just seen “Interstellar” and here is my review…

Plot/Synopsis: In the near future, Earth has been devastated by drought and famine, causing a scarcity in food and extreme changes in climate. When humanity is facing extinction, a mysterious rip in the space-time continuum is discovered, giving mankind the opportunity to widen its lifespan. A group of explorers must travel beyond our solar system in search of a planet that can sustain life. The crew of the Endurance are required to think bigger and go further than any human in history as they embark on an interstellar voyage into the unknown. Coop, the pilot of the Endurance, must decide between seeing his children again and the future of the human race.

Like I said before, I am a huge fan of Christopher Nolan movies. I’ve seen all of his movies even “The Prestige” and “Inception”. Finally, the long-awaited, “Interstellar” hits the theaters and I just saw it today.

Like I predicted, “Interstellar” is another winner for Nolan. No surprise because all of his movies are amazing and so was this one. I would say though that “Interstellar” is definitely the best film of his career. It’s very rare in Hollywood that the writing in movies would be perfect… well the writing in this movie was perfect. In order to appreciate this movie and to be able to understand it, though, you must be a fan of sci-fi.

In this film, you’re not gonna see a popcorn action film. This isn’t Star Wars or a Michael Bay movie. This film is 100% sci-fi. This movie will remind you of films such as “2001: A Space Odysey”, “Solaris”, “Close Encounters”, “Starman”, “Enemy Mine”, “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, etc. “Interstellar” is gonna be like those kind of movies. So don’t expect “Interstellar” to be full of laser guns and trying to survive against aliens.

I thought the acting by everyone was phenomenal. Like usual, Nolan is genius at choosing his casting. I thought this was Matt McConaughey’s best role. John Lithgow has a very short role in this movie but he still killed it like usual. Lithgow have been one of my favorite actors for a long time. There’s also a surprise cameo appearance by an actor named William Devane who is mostly famous for James Heller in “24”. Matt Damon also has a role. I’m not a big Matt Damon fan but his role was pretty interesting in this film. I actually liked Matt in that role that he played. I don’t wanna give too much away.

The movie was 3 hours long… yeah, it’s a long one but I wasn’t bored one bit. I didn’t yawn at all and kept my eyes on the screen throughout the whole thing. I didn’t fall asleep, thankfully. This film has Nolan’s most impressive film making, yet. The visuals and cinematography were mind blowing. Do you think the visuals and cinematography were impressive in, “Inception”? Well, you haven’t seen anything yet!!! Wait until you see what “Interstellar” looks like.

This is also a pretty sad film, though as I’ll admit it… I almost had tears myself walking out of the theater. This was a beautifully made film and it’s a masterpiece by Nolan. It’s gonna get some Oscar nominations. Not sure if it’ll get a nod for “Best Picture” but ya never know. I hope it’ll at least get a nomination for “Best Picture”. This film was definitely way better than “Gravity”.

The story to “Interstellar” maybe hard to follow and the story will get weird but like I said, you have to be a fan of sci-fi in order to get it. You shouldn’t just see this film just because your favorite actor is in it. I thought the film was amazing. So far, this is definitely the best film of the year and I’m definitely gonna get the BluRay when it comes out.

Definitely go see this one. I’ll give “Interstellar” a score of 5 out of 5 as in excellent!!!
