Which members of Van Halen are having health problems??? Rumors swirling that it may be Eddie himself…

There has been a lot of talk that Van Halen maybe possibly reuniting for a tour but it looks like it may never be happening. I’ve been listening to a lot of this stuff on the Eddie Trunk podcast that the tour was gonna happen with Michael Anthony coming back on bass and backing vocals but Michael says the band pulled the plug on the tour for whatever reason.

Later on, David Lee Roth claims Van Halen may be finished for good but there has been no official confirmation from the band themselves yet.

Now Steve Lukather here confirms that some of the members of Van Halen maybe having health issues which is why they aren’t touring or making new records.

Very strange. People are saying that some of the guys in Van Halen are having health issues and it has been said that Eddie Van Halen himself might be very sick, but the news hasn’t got out yet. It’s just a rumor for right now. People are saying that Van Halen are dealing with health issues but no one is saying anything… probably out of respect for privacy and all, ya know?

I just hope that whatever’s going on behind the scenes that Eddie and the other guys in Van Halen are okay.

I’m a huge Van Halen fan, have been for years. They are one of the greatest rock n’ roll bands of all time… love ’em or hate ’em all you want to. If health reasons is what’s stopping them from touring, that’s understandable.

I just hope Eddie isn’t secretly battling cancer or anything ’cause it must be pretty serious if he’s keeping it private. So far Eddie himself hasn’t confirmed any of this but we’ll wait and see, though. I do hope Van Halen reunites someday still… never say never.

Thought: Did Van Halen remake one of their older songs for “Tattoo”???

Van Halen is in the middle of some controversy over their new single they just released, “Tattoo”. A lot of their fans are pointing out that it’s a complete remake of one of their songs from the 70’s with DLR on vocals. Fans point out that “Tattoo”, is a complete redo of one of their older songs titled, “Down In Flames”, in which the band was originally going to release for the album, “Van Halen II”. It’s an unreleased track from the, “Van Halen II”, recording sessions that didn’t make the album.

I totally agree that the song is a complete remake. Both songs have the same guitar riffs and similar solos, but of course, DLR’s lyrics & singing is different in both songs.

A lot of people are acting like what the band did here is a bad thing. The band is being accused of having no talent and no new ideas for songwriting, so they remake their older stuff.

In defense for the band, I’m sure this wasn’t the first time they did this. I’m sure they re-did plenty of their other songs they had in the past. Bands DO IT ALL THE TIME. Even I do it with my own music.

Bands just throw songs away, then years later, they go back to it, re-write it, to try and make the song better.

Van Halen lost the public’s respect because basically, Michael Anthony is no longer in the band and he’s playing with Chickenfoot now. Michael Anthony is most famous for his catchy backup vocals with Van Halen, that he’s known for. People are used to hearing Van Halen songs with Michael Anthony doing the backup vocals. That’s pretty much the only reason Van Halen is having a hard time being accepted today. If Michael Anthony was back in the band, I’m sure everyone would love Van Halen again. I agree that Michael Anthony is a talented bass player, and singer but he moved on from Van Halen and the band moved on from him. It’s time to try and challenge people with a new lineup.

As for the “Tattoo” song itself, I actually kinda like it. They still have the 80’s pop feeling they always had. It’s a feel good, party song. Some people say it’s terrible, but they say that to all the legendary bands that want to continue to make music to this day. All legendary bands get so much hate and disrespect.

The fact is, that Van Halen is still staying true to their sound and style. The same sound they always had. Van Halen has always been one of those bands that you either love or hate, it’s been going on for years. The band have been putting up with mixed opinions ever since they started.

People are whacked when it comes to music. Everyone wanted DLR to come back to VH, the fans got what they wanted and now they’re mad ’cause VH remade one of their older songs. Don’t be surprised if they did the same thing with the rest of the songs for the rest of the album.

Bands just do what they want to do. That’s all there is to it.

Cool Video: Chickenfoot finally releases their long awaited new single, “Big Foot”…

Chickenfoot, the supergroup band that includes the lineup: Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith have finally released their new single “Big Foot”. I love the song a lot. It’s definitely heavier than their first album.

As for the video itself, while it’s pretty humorous, the thing that I find strange is that I thought I was seeing two Joe Satriani’s in the same band. I thought to myself, is Joe Satch playing guitar and drums in this video? I know the drummer is actually Chad Smith with a bald head but two Joe’s in the same band is a funny thought though.

Enjoy. Can’t wait to get the new album. I’m a fan of Chickenfoot, they are one of the good supergroups. I also love Them Crooked Vultures as well.

Edit to add: The drummer is not Chad Smith with a bald head. He’s actually Kenny Aronoff who is also bald. I remembered Kenny, he was the longtime drummer for John Fogerty’s solo career.

Thought: Chickenfoot is one of the worst rock bands today…

The lineup isn’t bad… they need to get rid of Sammy Hagar as their lead singer. Sammy is not a good vocalist. He was back in his early 80’s days, but hearing the new stuff he’s doing with Chickenfoot, (which also includes guitar shredder Joe Satriani, Chad Smith of the Chilli Peppers, and Michael Anthony of Van Halen) has not been that great.

Their band name is possibly another one of the stupidest band names I ever heard. Talented musicians, don’t get me wrong, but a lineup like this is way more crazier than James Iha’s other band, Tinted Windows.

How come the lineup of the band, Tinted Windows, is easy targeted and gets made fun of by everyone, yet, Chickenfoot gets a free pass? Chickenfoot is a band full of ego maniac nostalgia has beens while Tinted Windows has a lineup that no one has ever heard of.

Chickenfoot, is horrible and I hope this band fails. Tinted Windows is a much better band than Chickenfoot, in my opinion. Tinted Windows can rock, Chickenfoot can’t.

I think Tinted Windows is one of the best supergroups to ever come around. I will not get the Chickenfoot CD. I’ve been listening to Chickenfoot songs in youtube, and they haven’t been grabbing me, ’cause they don’t have the energy I’m looking for.

I like Joe Satriani but him doing a band with vocals isn’t for him, man.

I wonder how Chickenfoot’s concert at the Palace Theatre in Albany will sell. I’m thinking the Palace will only be half full or maybe less.
