… Something wicked is coming this way!

A post shared by Sly Stallone (@officialslystallone) on

There were talks of Sly doing Rambo 5 ever since the 4th one came out. There were several different plot ideas over the years. One of them were Rambo’s daughter gets kidnapped by sex traffickers and Rambo hunts them down to rescue her, another plot idea is that Rambo battles a half-human beast monster and another plot idea that Rambo battles a Mexican drug cartel.

Well, it’s looking like the official plot is gonna be the missing daughter idea and they’re going for that one and scrapping the others.

I could have sworn at one point that Sly came pretty close to quitting Rambo for good, but I guess he’s game for one more.

Sylvester Stallone is aging. He’s 71 years old now. Sly probably wants to do one more Creed film, one more Expendables and one more Rambo then he’ll probably be done with action movies after those? That’s my guess. Sly did say at one point that he plans to retire from acting soon so he can focus on writing & directing full time. Sly probably feels that he has some action left in him still.

I’m glad Sly and the studio are going for the missing daughter idea ’cause no doubt that will bring out the violent Rambo. This is probably gonna turn out to be a much darker movie. More darker that “Rambo IV” which was release in 2008. Ya know, that Rambo movie released in 2008 was a very short film but it was still amazing. That film got mixed reviews but I fucking LOVED it. That film showed a darker side of Rambo and I’m sure the next one will show an even darker side of him.

Be ready for a MUCH more violent Rambo in the next one. I can’t wait! Hopefully they make it a much longer movie too like a good 2 hours will be fine.

I think Sly wants to bring Rambo back ’cause he wants to end the series better. If you think Rambo was violent in the last film, you haven’t seen anything yet. I can see the next film being very bloody.

It’s a perfect time for Sly to bring Rocky, Rambo and the Expendables back one more time ’cause Sly is getting older, ya know? He probably wants to get these films out of the way before he gets older and that’s the plan.

Report: Sly makes Rambo vs. The Inhuman Beast official for Rambo V plot…

From http://www.sylvesterstallone.com/:

On September 4, 2009, Harry Knowles from movie website Ain’t It Cool News posted a voicemail message from Sylvester Stallone in which Sly gave more info on the plot of the next Rambo movie. With the working title, “Rambo V: The Savage Hunt,” this episode sees Rambo in the Pacific Northwest leading an elite squad in the hunt for an inhuman beast. This is clearly an exciting new direction for the Rambo story and we’ll keep you posted on any developments.”

Well, there you have it, Sly really is doing this Rambo vs. this Beast monster plot. Which is kind of cool and different.

It does get kind of old with Rambo destroying military guys, and for some reason, I can always picture in my head Rambo trying to survive some kind of alien or a monster. It’s seems Rambo is that type of guy and Sly is finally doing it.

It’s time that Rambo must fight something that is way more powerful than him.

Thought: Rambo 5 “The Savage Hunt” mixing with sc-fi/action…

Here I am back home from a Martha’s Vineyard, Labor day weekend vacation. Over the weekend, I have been reading and following the plot lines and synopsis for “Rambo V: The Savage Hunt”. Sly made the plot ideas official by confirming it with AICN. So Rambo being mixed with sci fi is the real deal, it’s really happening.

See an updated report on it at AICN:

As you can see in the talk back comments, the new plot is getting mixed opinions. Some love the idea and some hate it.

If you wonder where Sly got the plot idea from, “Rambo V” is actually adapted from a book by the author named James Byron Huggins, the name of the novel is, “Hunter”. Sly bought the rights for “Hunter” long ago to make a movie out of, but he never did. “Hunter” sounds just like a “Rambo” story, that’s what Sly probably bought the rights of the book for is because it reminded him of Rambo and he can see Rambo in the leading character of that novel. So now Sly is finally bringing that novel for “Rambo” in the next film.

Sly also made it clear that “Rambo V” won’t be another “Universal Soldier” as you heard on his voice mail message in AICN if you can understand what he is saying. I’ll admit that Sly’s speaking voice is horrible when not acting in film, you could barely understand what he’s saying, lol!!

Most Stallone fans want the Rambo movies to be realistic. Well come on now, if you really think that, you’re living in a fantasy world here. I agree with Harry Knowles that none of the Rambo movies are realistic. All 4 Rambo movies had a whacky, and crazy plot. A lot of crazy things that possibly can’t happen in the real world.

No, police officers don’t go hunting down war vets in a small town when they are not welcomed. Is that realistic? Fuck no.

In First Blood part II…do you think any human being can blow down a huge helicopter with an M72 LAW weapon in real life? LOL!

In Rambo III do you think it’s possible that any man can go to Afghanistan to rescue his friend from the Soviets? Whacky, don’t try this for real, folks. It’s only a movie.

In Rambo IV, the new one, do you think any man can just go to Burma and kill the entire Burmese army in less than ten minutes for reals?

I’m liking the plot idea for “Rambo V” and it will be a very different Rambo film. It gets old with Rambo going on typical rescue missions and it don’t hurt for something different for a change.

As for the beast creature, Sly is talking about, I would think the beast would be CGI, it has to be ’cause the days of make up and costumes are over with. Everything in Hollywood seems to be CGI these days, I don’t see how else Sly is going to make a beast to make it realistic in “Rambo V”.

Love the plot idea or hate it, gotta give credit for Sly’s unique imagination when storytelling. He is a good storyteller and I admire him for that. I like how he takes this stuff very seriously.

Bring it on Sly. I’ll be on the lookout for more Rambo V news in the future. Hopefully we’ll get a longer Col. Trautman flashback too.

Report: Lionsgate confirmed “Rambo V” will be in the works, and will be written/directed by Stallone…

While this article at the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Alli Shearmur has left Paramount and she has landed a job to take Lionsgate in the lead as the companies president and boss…the article also says that Lionsgate has Rambo V confirmed with Sylvester Stallone on board to write, direct and star in again.

Quote from the article:

“On the development horizon are “Warrior,” which Gavin O’Connor co-wrote and will direct; “Conan,” a fast-tracked project with multiple scripts in the works; “Severance Package,” with Brett Simon writing and directing; “Rambo V,” to be written and directed by Sylvester Stallone; “Korean Wedding” from writer Jason Filardi; and “Kane & Lynch,” a video game adaptation that will star Bruce Willis.”

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Lionsgate has been confirming Rambo V for a long while now, but Sly Stallone himself has been pretty quiet about it lately. If Lionsgate keeps confirming it, then I guess it’s true.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Sly starts working on Rambo V next because he needs to before he gets too old. I’m glad he’s doing another Rambo.

Rambo IV did leave open for another movie as I would like some answers to the strange ending at the end of Rambo IV.

I hope Sly writes a good plot for Rambo V, he did an amazing job with Rambo IV, I’m sure he won’t dissapoint in V also. Maybe this is why Sly is taking another break from movies ’cause he’s writing a script for the next Rambo, who knows.

Thought: My wishlist for “Rambo V”…

Here are some thoughts that I would like to see in “Rambo V”, this is just a fun topic.

My Rambo V wishlist:

-To be at least either 2 hours or 2 1/2 hours long, Rambo (2008) was only 93 minutes and the next one needs to be a lot longer.

-Please have a longer flashback sequence to Col. Trautman, Rambo (2008) had a tiny tribute for Trautman.

-Bring back Brian Dennehy for Will Teasle.

-LOSE THAT SHIRT RAMBO!!!! Aw man, I remember in “First Blood Part II”, holy cow, Sly’s muscles were massively HUGE in that film. In Rambo (2008), he never took off his shirt once. Sly needs to do it in the next one! If Sly was able to be confident enough to take off his shirt for “Rocky Balboa”, he should have done it in Rambo (2008). It’s not a gay thing, it’s just that when you watch a Rambo movie, you always expect Rambo to take off his shirt while he’s tying the bandanna.

-Rambo’s hair should be a lot longer.

-Rambo should talk less, in “Rambo” (2008) Rambo talked a lot throughout most of the film really. I like the quiet Rambo where whenever he has something to say he says something small and brief or don’t say anything at all. That’s what makes him a tough guy.

-Sly should work on the Rambo dialogue better. While I do love the movie “Rambo” (2008) very much, Sly should speak Rambo’s voice a little better. Hope he does it better in the next film so he can speak like the real Rambo from the first three films. That really deep voice in Rambo was cool in the first three films, Sly didn’t have that in the new one.

-Bring back Julie Benz, whether she becomes Rambo’s wife or not in the next one, it’ll still be great to see her back.

-Make the violence still having the blood and gore.

That’s all I can think of for now.
