The “Twin Peaks” reunion show for Showtime is currently filming. Look like the characters will be returning to Twede’s Cafe aka the Double R diner. Keep in mind that Twede’s Cafe is a real restaurant and a real business. It wasn’t some fake movie set on the show at all. In the show it was called the Double R diner but in real life it’s called, Twede’s Cafe.
It’s the Cafe where Dale Cooper likes to have his favorite cherry pie.
Check here for behind the scenes photos of construction workers changing the business name to Double R. I’m pretty sure David Lynch pays the cafe a lot of money to use it as a film set. Not cheap I know that.
David Lynch bailed out. Fans & supporters complained and protested. David Lynch listened to you all and he answered. He’s back on “Twin Peaks” return to direct. I’ll have to agree that the show can’t be done without him. I’ll admit it’s not “Twin Peaks” without David.
What I love about David Lynch movies and TV shows is that he likes to make his stories that could be put in your own interpretation, if you know what I mean. That’s why they’re all difficult to figure out what they’re about, ya know? With movies like, “Eraserhead”, “Blue Velvet”, “The Elephant Man”, “Mulholland Drive”, “Lost Highway”, etc. I’ve seen all of Lynch’s films. I just love his weirdness and crazy storytelling. Without David Lynch, the “Twin Peaks” revival would lose it’s strange storytelling that David is good at.He wants you to figure out his stories are about yourself.
So I’m glad Showtime and Lynch are back on good terms again.
Yeah, Lynch maybe a big time liberal and Obama supporter but I don’t give a shit about Hollywood’s political views. I just like their art and their stories. Lynch is a great storyteller. His work is pretty addicting stuff.
I won’t be able to watch the new “Twin Peaks” since I don’t have Showtime anymore but I could wait for DVD or Netflix streaming.
Fans are disappointed that David Lynch bailed out of the “Twin Peaks” revival and looks like they are not alone. Even the stars of the show are disappointed too and they’re begging him to come back. Pretty cool, I must say!
“Twin Peaks” fans are mad at Showtime ’cause they didn’t give David Lynch enough money to write the script the way he wanted it. People are mad at Showtime. Threatening the network that they would lose the fans support, protesting and all that stuff.
Keep in mind that David Lynch wasn’t the main creator of the series. He was “co-creator”, meaning that he helped create the show with someone else. Mark Frost was the main creator of the series, Lynch just helped him with it a little bit. So all this talk of “No David Lynch, no Twin Peaks” don’t make any sense to me at all.
The show “Twin Peaks” can easily go on without Mr. Lynch ’cause as you know, David Lynch didn’t direct every episode of the two seasons of “Twin Peaks”. Lynch only directed several episodes anyways.
As far as this deal goes, maybe Lynch just wanted too much money that Showtime couldn’t afford? Maybe Showtime just wanted this show to be on a lower budget, ya know? I think they are just trying to keep the costs down.
I support Showtime on their decision ’cause whatever it is, it’s all business ’cause that’s how Hollywood works. I wish people would understand that but nope… you know how obsessive fans can be when they don’t get what they want. David Lynch is not the king of “Twin Peaks”, it’s all Mark Frost’s baby. Lynch was just a helper like I said above.
I’m still gonna support the new show even if Lynch will no longer be involved. I’m sure the show will still be great without him.
The article says that the character Audrey is also set to return but I wonder if Benjamin Horne, Donna and James are coming back? What about Shelly? I’m sure we’ll get the whole “Twin Peaks” gang. I wonder if Sheriff Truman is gonna return too?
Great news!!! I was hoping Kyle would return ’cause we need an explanation of that ending of Season 2. Now we need Ray Wise to return as Leland Palmer ’cause he was a pretty important part of that story.
I’m glad more Twin Peaks is coming. We really need an explanation of Dale and the Black Lodge so they’ll probably give us that for the next season. We still need to know more about Laura Palmer too. I’m pretty sure Kyle Maclachlan will reprise his role as Dale and I’m pretty sure Ray Wise will come back as Leland Palmer (Laura’s father). They have to come back ’cause they were a part of this whole Black Lodge thing.
For the new season, I’m also sure we’ll see some some familiar faces. All the characters from the previous seasons will return. I’m sure characters like Audrey, Donna, James, Ben Horne, Lucy, Bobby, etc. will all return. The only character who won’t return is obviously Josie Packard (unless there’s gonna be new flashback scenes for her???).
I’m glad that the show is going to Showtime instead of CBS (remember CBS owns Showtime). On Showtime, that means more freedom in creative writing. There could be more nudity and swearing. Watch the prequel film, “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” there was a lot of nudity and swearing in that film.
It’s gonna be interesting to see what Twin Peaks is gonna be like years later. Knowing how David Lynch writes, I’m sure he’ll make the 9 episodes a bit weird and crazy like the previous seasons were.
I don’t have Showtime so I won’t be able to watch it but I’m sure those 9 new episodes will be made available for streaming on Netflix soon after.
Glad Mr. Lynch is giving us more, thanks dude! He definitely knows what the fans want and this is probably what he’s doing this for.
I knew there is gonna be some kind of continuation. They need to explain Dale and the Black Lodge. I hope they bring Kyle back as Dale and they probably will. There are still a lot of unanswered questions about Laura Palmer as well.
Will there be a new season? Mini series? Big screen movie? We’ll wait and see.
Rumors of a Twin Peaks continuation have been going on for years now but David Lynch denied that every time. He claimed there are no plans of a continuation but never say never. I think he’s being secretive about it and not trying to give away surprises. A sequel of some sorts is probably gonna happen.
I’m glad Lynch is gonna bring us more Twin Peaks which didn’t surprise me since they released that BluRay boxset.
Here is Kimmy Robertson who plays Lucy Moran from “Twin Peaks” unboxing the new BluRay set that just came out today. It seems like she’s in character a little bit which is funny. Lucy is a great character. That love triangle storyline between her, Andy, and Dick was funny stuff.
I’d love to buy this BluRay boxset but it’s $120 dollars. It’s a bit pricey. I’ll still get it sometime down the road, though. I wanna see all the deleted footagae.
