Report: Brett Ratner wants to make a film based on Guitar Hero video games…

The X-Men and Rush Hour director Brett Ratner spoke with MTV News announcing that he is dying to make a film adapted from the Guitar Hero video games. He says he is a huge fan of the Guitar Hero games and he loves playing the games himself.

He already has a plot idea for the film and he says the film will be about a kid who lives in a small town, he dreams of being a real life rock star, his dream comes true by winning a Guitar Hero game competition.

Brett Ratner not only wants to direct “Guitar Hero” film, he also maybe be on board to direct another popular video game into a movie which is the “God Of War” video game to be made into a film.

More on it here:

Activision should not let Hollywood do a movie on Guitar Hero. The videogames market the Guitar Hero franchise on their own fine, they don’t need Hollywood movies.

And on top of that, a Guitar Hero movie would suck anyways, no matter who is directing it.

Report: New “Wolfenstein” game coming soon…

I’m sure you all remember the old school “Wolfenstein 3D” game that debuted in 1992, I believe it was one of the very first, “first person shooting” games in the history of video games. Duke Nukem was not the first, it was Wolfenstein, I think. Wolfenstein is a WWII based game where you go around shooting Nazis.

There’s a brand new “Wolfenstein” game in the works right now, simply titled “Wolfenstein”. It’s not a remake of the older game, it’s actually another sequel. A game leaving off 2001’s “Return to Castle Wolfenstein”. In this game you not only get to fight Nazis, you get to fight against demons too.

Check out the first look of the new Wolfenstein game that could possibly get released to your PC’s/PS3’s/Xbox360 sometime in 2009:

Back in high school in my computer class, I used to play that Wolfenstein 3D game all the time when the teacher allows students to play games at the end of class.

I’m looking forward to this game. Glad a new Wolfenstein is coming out.

Report: Bad news for “Ghostbusters: The Video Game”, could the game get cancelled?

After all the recent hype of “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” that could be released to our video game consoles sometime this year or next year, I got some bad news to report, that the highly anticipated video game could be getting cancelled. Which means the game could get canned and not get released at all.

The reason is Activision is refusing to publish and release games that were made by Vivendi. Ghostbusters is not the only game that is in danger of not releasing, 50 Cent’s own video game, the Chronicles of Riddick and several other titles maybe getting ditched too.

IGN reports:

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/894/894587p1.html

I don’t think there is anything to worry about. The people making the “Ghostbusters” video game will find a different video game publishing company to release it through. The game will be a hit, there is no way it could be cancelled and it would suck so hard if it got cancelled after all the hype and excitement for it.

I feel bad for the Ghostbusters. Nobody in Hollywood wants a Ghostbusters 3 and nobody in the video game world wants to see a Ghostbusters game. Shame, shame.

I hope the game does get released.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith thoughts…

So I’ve been playing Guitar Hero: Aerosmith the last couple of days. My thoughts? It is pretty much the same exact thing as Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Except it’s a different band and different songs. It’s still a fun game to play though.

The truth about Guitar Hero and Rock Band, there is no such thing as “beating” those games, which is called a “sandbox” games which you can never beat them. They are games that you can stop playing whenever you feel like stopping.

For Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, I’m just practising in the “expert” level mode. I ain’t playing the “career” just yet. I probably gonna be playin’ this game all week.

Just beat “Viking: The Battle For Asgard” today…

Today on my day off of work, I just beat the game “Viking: The Battle For Asgard” for the PS3. I thought the game was great and very well made. The action was a lot of fun and some of the missions were actually difficult and challenging especially the level before the final boss at the end of the game was the most challenging of the entire game. I think there is going to be a sequel to “Viking” ’cause the ending just left open for another one.

Yep, I beat another game for the PS3, and now I can move on to another game. I did buy another game for the Ps3 the last time I went to the mall to see “The Dark Knight” again. I finally got around to buying “The Bourne Conspiracy” game that I’ve been wanting. I won’t play the “Bourne” game next though.

I’m probably gonna play some “Guitar Hero: Aerosmith” today and maybe start either “Iron Man” or “Metal Gear Solid 4” tonight. Don’t know. I’ll pick something. I love collecting video games again, so far I have a total of 8 games for the ps3. I still haven’t beaten all of them, I’m going through just one at a time.

Report: Jimi Hendrix makes his way to “Guitar Hero: World Tour”…

Jimi Hendrix, the guitar god, will finally make his debut in the Guitar Hero video game franchise. He will include two songs for the upcoming “Guitar Hero: World Tour” video game. The game will include “The Wind Cries Mary” and a live version of “Purple Haze” which was recorded at the San Diego Sports Arena in 1969.

“Guitar Hero: World Tour” focuses on the ability to play as a full band, you will have access to playing drums and singing vocals as well. “Guitar Hero: World Tour” hits stores Oct. 27th.

Billboard Reports:

I don’t know if I will get this game or not. I will wait to see the official songlisting for the game and if it has a good set of songs enough to buy it, I will.

Report: “God of War III” announced for the PS3…

At the E3 2008 Press Conference, announced a huge surprise that “God of War III” is confirmed to be in the works soon for the PS3. No release date has been made yet, but they are working on the game. Sony released “God of War: Chains of Olympus” for the PSP only last year, the game became such a bestselling hit, that they want to bring another sequel to our PS3 systems. You heard that right, the God of War hero, Kratos is coming back!

IGN reports:

Pretty sweet news! I’ll be looking forward to this game for sure. God of War is great!

Report: Guitar Hero to Rock Band, “Oh yeah, well take this Rock Band, you get new Guns N’ Roses, we get NEW Metallica album, hahahahaha…”

Yeah, it’s definitely Guitar Hero vs. Rock Band alright. Right after Rock Band announced they get a new Guns N’ Roses song early, the Guitar Hero franchise announced they’ll get the new Metallica album “Death Magnetic” in it’s entirety for “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock” downloadable, so you can jam out to Metallica’s new entire album. The album will be downloadable in “Guitar Hero III” the same day “Death Magnetic” comes out in stores.

While Metallica may not yet be getting their own Guitar Hero video game, them getting “Death Magnetic” on Guitar Hero III is better than nothing, I guess!

From the band’s official website:

http://www.metallica.com/index.asp?item=601007

As the owner of “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock”, I’ll definitely download the entire Metallica album for the video game as well. Pretty sweet!

From:

http://www.guitarworld.com/article/rock_band_2_song_list_including_new_guns_n039_roses_track_announced?page=0%2C0

I guess the new Guns N’ Roses song is the real deal, the band didn’t deny it on their official website yet, so it is indeed true that a song from “Chinese Democracy” will get on there.

The name of the new Guns N’ Roses song is “Shackler’s Revenge”.

Maybe this is a sign that “Chinese Democracy” may see the light of day this year?

Anyhow, as far as “Rock Band 2” goes, it sounds like a good set of songs. I don’t think I’ll buy any “Rock Band” video games, I like “Guitar Hero” better. I’ll stick with the “Guitar Hero” franchise, thank you.
