Taylor Swift may have been upset at Kanye interrupting her but did Beck get upset? No. Beck is actually pretty cool with it! As a matter of fact, Beck seems flattered that Kanye tried to go up to the mic.
I understand Beck, though. I’d be flattered if I got interrupted by Kanye too.
I didn’t think Beck would win “Album of The Year”. I too kept thinking Beyonce was gonna win it no matter what.
So Beck said he aspires to be like Kanye. Well that’s no surprise. If you’ve listened to Beck’s music over the years like I have, you would hear that almost 80% of Beck’s music is rap/hip hop a little bit. Listen to his “Mellowgold” and “Odelay” albums for proof. Beck has always written a mix of folk, pop, rap & hip hop music over the years especially songs like “Beercan” in which you can hear in the video below.
I’m very happy for Beck for his surprising Grammy win! I’ve listened to his music for many years. I haven’t heard his new album “Morning Phase” yet but I’m gonna grab it from Itunes soon.
While most of last night’s Grammy’s were a joke there were actually two good things about last night’s show… Ac/Dc performing and Beck winning “Album of the Year”.
I do agree that Kanye is an arrogant and egotistical jackass but who cares. There are too many artists and musicians out there who are just as bad as he is.
I understand Kanye’s love for Beyonce but Beyonce used like 20 producers for her latest album while Beck produced, “Morning Phase” all by himself. Plus, Beck is a real musician who plays his own instruments and writes his own songs. He’s not a manufactured artist like Beyonce. So the Grammy’s made the right decision for once!

There are a lot of arrogant jackass musicians, but Kanye takes it to a whole new level. He is a rude douche who needs to sit down…or go practice singing so he doesn’t have to use Auto Tune.
I disagree. Kanye didn’t take it to a whole new level. Like I said there is a long list of other famous musicians with similar attitudes: Axl Rose, Gene Simmons, Ted Nugent, Bono, the Gallagher brothers from Oasis, Vince Neil of Motley Crue, David Lee Roth, Yngwie Malmsteen, Madonna, and even Billy Corgan has a huge ego problem as well.
There are too many famous artists out there who think they are “god”. Not just Kanye.

And none of them need auto tune. Kanye has an ego without the talent. HUGE difference between those other people you named. If we are going to be arrogant, let’s at least earn it.
I’m not defending Kanye or anything. I think he’s an asshole and a douche as well… just sayin’ that there are other music artists that are no different than him. Whether they are talented or not has nothing to do with their personality. Talent and attitudes are separate.

With that being said, it’s never cool for musicians to be arrogant and egotistical. Even if you can really sing and play your own instruments doesn’t give you the right to be an asshole all you want to, ya know? Musicians should leave their egos at the door and be more humble & respectful.
There’s even a lot of local musicians I know around here who have gigantic egos but I’m not naming names at this point, though.
If a musician is an asshole, they’re an asshole whether they have real talent or not. That’s all there is to it.

Well that is a given. All I am saying is that, for some reason, it ‘s easier to justify that they have the “right” to be arrogant. In my opinion, he does not. I know more about his antics as a jackass than I know about his music. That right there says something: if he were talented, I’d know more about music and less about attitude.
