MJ, Media Madness…yes another MJ post…

So are you sick of seeing MJ death coverage all over the news, on TV, in newspapers, magazines, the radio, the internet, etc? I’m kind of annoyed by it all too, but there is a reason for all the MJ coverage. It’s not just that he is legendary and iconic, it’s because of other things going on in this world. We have wars, violence, bad economy, bad election in Iran which their President is yelling at Obama for, etc.

America wants to keep our minds away from that stuff and celebrate the life and music of Michael Jackson. Do you think the soldiers fighting in the wars in Iraq and other countries, ignoring the death of Michael Jackson? No. I’m pretty sure the US troops fighting for our country is shocked of MJ’s death just as we are.

The media is acting like the death of MJ is bigger than 9/11 and bigger than Barack Obama becoming president. If you think about it, that is actually true. If nobody knew who MJ was, then he wouldn’t get all this media coverage.

I would like to post other news besides Jacko, but everything on the internet is all about him. I can’t think of anything to write because of him. That’s how impacting that man really is to people. He’s very addicting to be talked about and he’s almost always at the center of your attention.

People are all over him in my facebook account, talking either positive or negative hateful things about him. He’s all over youtube by fans tributing him. The news people in the media are just like us, they can’t stop doing coverage about him just like we can’t stop thinking about him and talking about him.

Like it or not, we’re going to keep getting constant MJ coverage for months and months, possibly all year long or more. There maybe other important things to worry about in life besides Michael Jackson, but he is a pretty important person in entertainment that we should know what happened to him.

To the haters that say they don’t care about him, and want the media to stop reporting about him, you know that’s a lie, ’cause you know you’ll keep wanting more and more from MJ when you’re secretly paying attention.

I’ll repeat myself that Elvis Presley got constant media coverage for his death for months and months. I’m sure Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Big Bopper got the same thing when those guys were killed in the plane crash, the day the music died. James Brown also got constant media coverage when he died on Christmas Day that one year. They didn’t get it as bad as Michael Jackson did though. Princess Diana had long history coverage of her death and of course, Anna Nicole. MJ’s death got the most media coverage than any celebrity death in history.

This is going to go on for a long time. I’ll try to blog about other things soon.

A Phillipines prison pays tribute to MJ…

This is amazing stuff. An actual prison over at the Phillipines pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson. They do “Thriller”, a few Jackson 5 songs and “Heal the World”. These are real prison inmates. They are not theatre actors.

Enjoy!

The Brock Eulogizes Michael Jackson…

Most fans and supporters of Michael Jackson are sending their eulogies and condolences to official Michael Jackson Eulogy websites online. I’m not going to bother doing that, I’ll just do mine right here.

————————————————————-

The Brock’s Eulogy to Michael Jackson

In my childhood years, I was a huge Michael Jackson fanatic. I collected his albums, his merchandise, had posters of him hanging on my bedroom wall. Would watch every music video he has done and seen every film he has played in. When the, “Thriller” video first debuted on MTV, I was blown away and in total awe. I was hooked to Michael Jackson ever since. As a kid, I used to be scared of that, “Thriller” video, especially when Michael Jackson was a zombie in it and hearing Vincent Price’s scary voice over at the end of the song.

Then he came out with tons more videos from “Beat it”, “Billie Jean”, “The Way You Make Me Feel”, “Smooth Criminal”, “Bad”, etc. I would watch those all the time on MTV. His movies like, “The Wiz” and “Moonwalker”, I also loved too much. Still do today.

I’ve admired Michael Jackson’s career up until he started changing himself, when he started changing his skin color to white and messing up his plastic surgery, the child molestation trial, hanging a baby out the window, that’s when him as a person started to turn me off… but I’ll always admire him as a music artist, performer and songwriter. The man was a musical genius no matter what kind of man he was in his personal life.

Yes, of course, Michael Jackson is going to get picked on, be hated on, and be made fun of, being an easy target in entertainment media. That’s how the music business is made to be. If everyone’s opinion in the music business had to be the same, then the music world would be boring. Those that talked negative over Michael Jackson over the years, it did nothing but help him become the icon and legend that he is today. MJ once said, “Talking negative sells”, he is so right.

Michael Jackson maybe a weird, crazed out whacko, but who isn’t? Everyone is weird in some way or another. Jackson never had an ego problem, he always had a passion in entertaining people with his music and films. Everyone makes mistakes in life, even the rich and famous. You do not know Michael Jackson personally, so that doesn’t give people the right to call him a pedophile. Just because you like children does not make you a pedophile. Those that think like that is pretty immature and pretty disrespectful.

MJ is innocent until he was proven guilty, he was cleared of all charges of the child molestation case. I don’t think MJ was a pedophile, that’s just my personal opinion on the man. He was just wrongfully judged and was misunderstood by the world because of his child molestation trial back then.

It is funny on how people think they knew everything about MJ’s life, when the reality is, people don’t know anything about him behind the scenes of the music business. Jackson maybe a disturbing individual but his music is what impacted people. People just respected the man for the music, not him as a person.

Michael Jackson’s music influenced musicians from all over the world, be it, amateur, unsigned or profesional…his music inspired other musicians no matter what genre. MJ knew how to write music that are tight and with so much intensity, every song he did, it stuck in your head forever. He was a great melody maker.

You can love Michael Jackson, or you can hate him with a passion, the fact is, this is the truth, that the world lost an important figure in the music business. He maybe gone, but his music and legacy he left behind will live on forever. I was in total shock of his death, just as everyone else.

The day that Jackson died, before then, I made that post, “Is Jacko the next one to go”? I left my computer for a while after that, then I heard on News Channel 13 later on, that Jackson died, and my jaw immediately dropped. I just couldn’t believe that my prediction of him dying next was exactly right. I just didn’t think it would be this soon.

Michael Jackson was a genius, and a music god. I listened to his music for years and still do today. May he rest in peace, my condolences go out to the Jackson family (even to his sister Janet), and his friends.

MJ’s similarities to Elvis Presley…

One last MJ post for the night. Do you notice the similarities between MJ and Elvis Presley? Both being called, “The King of (something)”, both wearing similar live stage costumes. They both sing and dance. Both did music and movies. Both had mental issues and personal problems. Presley was once accused of being a danger and being perverted to young kids like Jackson. Both has died at young ages. Both has had a home with names on them, “Graceland” and “Neverland Ranch”. Jacko was also once married to Elvis’s daughter, Lisa Marie, which is even more proof of Jacko’s obsession with Elvis.

According to Lisa Marie’s blog, she said that Jacko already predicted he was going to die just like Elvis, and Jacko did. Jacko had a strong obsession with Elvis Presley and maybe he wanted his life to be exactly like Elvis’s life? Maybe Jacko just wanted that fantasy to come true. He wanted to join Elvis in heaven when the time that he felt was right.

I’m not saying that Jacko wanted to die so he used drugs to do it, I’m just making observations here that is very Elvis Presley like. Just like Anna Nicole’s death was very similar to Marilyn Monroe’s life.

This is probably why MJ is all over the news, because his life story is similar to Elvis. Think about it.

Brock wants to post other entertainment news besides Michael Jackson’s death but…

…I can’t. Why? Because almost every entertainment news site I go to is about Michael, Michael, Michael. Michael has dominated every single news site on there and even TV as well. Worse than Anna Nicole. Michael Jackson is a legend and icon, yes, but he is not even in Elvis Presley’s league. Let the Jackson family grieve in peace.

I guess I’ll just randomly blog about a different topic. I just don’t want this blog to be all about Jacko when it’s everywhere else.

Edit to add: Soon, I will be writing a Michael Jackson Eulogy for this blog. Not tonight, but maybe sometime this weekend. Maybe even tomorrow.

Well, at least the media can let Farrah rest in peace…

The point of the title of this topic, if Michael Jackson never died today, Farrah would have been all over the news today and not Michael. So it’s obvious, Michael’s death spotlight took over Farrah’s. Notice how the media is ignoring Farrah’s death?

“Weird Al” Yankovic have to be very upset and devastated about MJ’s death. Al Yankovic was an obsessive fan of his, he already parodied two of MJ’s songs. “Fat”, and “Eat It”. I’m sure Al Yankovic would post something about MJ on weirdal.com soon.

Kev

Edit to add: Yep, “Weird Al” is upset, he twittered it already…

http://twitter.com/alyankovic

Maybe Al will do a Michael Jackson homage style parody like he did to the Doors?

Well, “This is It” for Jacko…

Oh my fucking god! Un fucking believable!!! First we lose Farrah Fawcett this morning, and now Michael Jackson!!! I am in absolute shock! We lose two legends in one fucking day!

Okay, look like I’ll have a tribute for both Farrah and Jacko hopefully tonight. This is crazy!!!!

Oh yeah, “This is It” is a quote taken from Jacko’s press conference at the O2 for those wondering where it came from. Well, so much for them 50 O2 shows and Jacko’s new album.

Report: Could Jacko be the next one to go???

Michael Jackson was rushed to the hospital today due to cardiac arrest, and his Dad, Joe Jackson, says he isn’t look very good at all and not doing well.

TMZ reports:

http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michael-jackson-rushed-to-the-hospital/

We lose David Carridine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and if Jacko’s next, love him or hate him, it would be a sad loss to the music industry. I don’t agree with his views on children, and don’t like his craziness, but he is a music legend. You have to understand that. He’s made so many great hits and did so much for the music industry than anybody out there. Losing Jacko would be a tragedy whether you like him or not.

Report: Phish announces new album, “Joy”, to be released this summer!!!!

Phish has announced a new album release. The name of the new album is simply titled, “Joy”, which will be a ten track disc. It is slated for release sometime this summer with no exact release date yet.

To see the track listing of the new album, click here:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/phish-name-new-album-joy-1003988017.story

I’m willing to bet that the reason the album has only 10 tracks is that most of the album is going to be long ten minute jams, like most of their albums are.

Looking forward to getting their new CD.

Ac/Dc should have been a headliner at Bonnaroo 2009…why did they get ignored???

While Bonnaroo 2009 was a fantastic lineup this year, it was a very impressive lineup. I am dissapointed in one thing. They forgot to book Ac/Dc as the headliner. The boys are currently on tour in support of, “Black Ice”. With Bonnaroo being mostly the audience of the younger generation, kids in their teens up to their 30 something’s were mostly attending Bonnaroo, I’m sure all the kids would have loved to see Ac/Dc there.

With a huge crowd at Bonnaroo, I’m sure Ac/Dc would have raised some hell with the audience than any other band that played there. There would have been some serious moshing, maybe even violence with kids fist fighting, crowd surfing, headbanging, beer bottle throwing, etc. Ac/Dc knows how to get an audience wild.

I guess Bonnaroo wanted this year to be Springsteen and Phish’s night, so I understand why they didn’t book a band bigger than them, ’cause Ac/Dc would have overshadowed Phish/Springsteen.

There’s always next year if Ac/Dc releases another new album? Ac/Dc needs to start playing them big festivals again, they got ignored for this year’s Lollapalooza and Glastonbury UK too. Guess the festivals are afraid of Ac/Dc. Ha ha.
