Do I really need a bass player to form a band? Two piece bands seems to be happening more and more lately…

I noticed a new trend going on in the music industry lately. First we get the White Stripes, the Black Keys, then we have Royal Blood and now we have another two piece band called, Black Pistol Fire who seems to be getting a lot of popularity. I just discovered Black Pistol Fire by a recommendation of someone so I decided to check them out in youtube and really liking them!

Two piece bands have been happening more and more lately in music. I wonder why?

Maybe it’s because musicians are finding bands that have more than two members are pretty boring? Maybe they’re finding that having more than two members is pretty pointless? Maybe they want to sound different? I don’t know but you don’t really need a lot of members to form a band. You can play a lot tighter and have more energy as a two-piece. More concentration. Plus it sounds better without a bass player. You don’t really need a bass player. Two piece acts play better live shows anyways.

This is inspiring me to do the same. Just find a drummer to jam with. Start my own two piece project. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Is Ozzy really missing? Probably not… maybe he’s just busy?

The gossip news media are making ridiculous claims that Ozzy has been cheating on Sharon with a celebrity hairstylist and now the media is claiming that Ozzy has been missing lately ever since he moved out of Sharon’s house.

http://pagesix.com/2016/05/09/where-is-ozzy-osbourne-hiding/?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=NYPFacebook&utm_medium=SocialFlow

I’m thinking all of these claims are pretty ridiculous and false. Give it time, I think Ozzy will put out a statement shooting down both of these rumors pretty soon. Ozzy is usually quick at shooting down rumors about him. I’m sure he’s okay and I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with him.

Keep in mind that gossip media always loved to make Ozzy look bad. That’s what these gossip sites are paid to do. If the news turn out to be true then oh well… I wish Ozzy nothing but the best and hope he gets well.

Love Ozzy or hate him all you want to, you can’t deny his legacy and his contributions to the metal industry. He really is a metal legend and a pioneer. I’m sure we’ll hear from him this week.

Maybe Sharon and Ozzy aren’t splitting and they’re still together. Who knows? We’ll have to wait and find out.

Is Ozzy and Sharon done for good???

I usually stay away from celebrity gossip and stuff like that but since this has something to do with the music industry, I felt it was worth getting my thoughts on. So is Ozzy and Sharon done for good? That’s according to the E! website who first reported the news and E! is all celebrity gossip so I wouldn’t be quick into believing this news yet.

If it’s true that Ozzy and Sharon are splitting then that’s good. Like most, I never liked Sharon Osbourne. In my opinion, I think she messed up Ozzy’s solo career by that stupid TV show, “The Osbournes”. I think Sharon totally used Ozzy just so she can get rich & famous herself. She’s a golddigger, indeed. I also believe Sharon messed up the Black Sabbath reunion which is why Bill Ward wouldn’t rejoin.

Why would Ozzy and Sharon split after over 30 years of marriage? Is Ozzy really cheating on her? If so I can’t blame him at all ’cause she must be driving him crazy. Sharon’s a bitch and egotistical. Since Ozzy and Sharon might be splitting then that would mean that Sharon would no longer be Ozzy’s manager for his solo career. Sharon is not only Ozzy’s wife, she’s also been a manager for him for over 30 years as well. This means that Ozzy might have to get a new manager.

Is Ozzy and Sharon splitting for good? We’ll have to wait and find out. Maybe Ozzy himself would shoot these rumors down soon, who knows? We’ll have to wait and see. I hope they are splitting ’cause I can’t stand Sharon. Ozzy’s better off without her.

Video: I think Axl Rose is pretty damn good singing Ac/Dc songs, not too bad at all, really!

Ac/Dc performed their first live show with Axl Rose as frontman and here’s a few bootleg videos of their performance. Honestly, I think Axl is pretty damn good singing Ac/Dc songs. Axl must be a die-hard Ac/Dc fan, pretty obvious I would say. Watching the live bootleg videos of Ac/Dc, Axl definitely looks like he’s having a blast up there. Ac/Dc is probably the reason Axl started Guns N’ Roses so it must be a dream come true.

I don’t know what the critics are complaining about ’cause I think Axl is fine singing for Ac/Dc. I don’t see what the big deal is. Everybody is acting like Axl is going to be a full time member which he isn’t. It’s only temporary. Axl is just a fill-in for Brian. That’s all.

All bands do this. When their main members can’t make a show for whatever reason, they get replaced ’cause the show needs to go on, right? The same goes for Ac/Dc. Axl is like a substitute, that’s all he is.

I think Axl is pretty awesome singing for Ac/Dc, in my opinion. I’m a huge Ac/Dc fan too. Always have been since I was a young teenager. I’m a big fan of both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras. It is possible that Axl Rose could one day become a full time member of Ac/Dc and if that happens, I wouldn’t mind ’cause Axl would make a good replacement and I mean that too.

Kev

Is it time for Ac/Dc to retire??? Sorry to say but they never will…

So Malcolm Young no longer plays in the band ’cause of his health and he got a replacement. Now Brian Johnson pulls out of the band temporarily to save his hearing loss and Brian got a replacement which is obviously Axl Rose. People are upset of the Axl Rose replacement. I’ve gotten into a facebook debate about this in the Guitar World forum and there’s a lot of interesting discussions about this.

I’ve read by some other people that some wants Ac/Dc to cancel the rest of the tour so Brian can heal and I’m like, huh? Seriously? That’s a dumb thought. For the rest of Ac/Dc’s tour which will be shows overseas, I’m sure all those concerts are sold out pretty much. Too many people bought tickets to those shows. If Ac/Dc cancelled or postponed their tour that would be wrong for the fans who paid their hard earned money to see them. That would be unprofessional for the band to do so the show must go on. Ac/Dc made it clear that they are committed to their fans.

I understand how fans are upset ’cause Brian Johnson is Ac/Dc but hey… replacements in rock bands happen all the time. It happens with most bands in the industry. Members in famous bands come and go. That’s the way it is. The way it always has been. On top of that… Ac/Dc had many lineup changes over the years too. It wasn’t always Brian, Angus, Malcolm and Phil in the band.

Fans are expecting Ac/Dc to retire since the band looks like it’s about to fall apart but trust me people… Ac/Dc will never give this up. They really love what they do and I tell ya right now, the band will keep rockin’ until they can’t do it anymore. They’ll keep playing until they’re dead. I mean, the Rolling Stones are still going so Ac/Dc should be able to continue too. Everybody wants to act like that Ac/Dc is just a band like the rest of them. Maybe part of that is true but keep in mind, guys that Ac/Dc is more than just a band. They’re an institution. They’re a brand name now. In other words the band is a business. Not just a rock band. Ac/Dc is the worlds most famous rock band.

People are picking on Axl for replacing Brian in Ac/Dc but hey can you blame Axl? I can’t. I mean it’s Ac/Dc. I can’t blame Axl for taking upon the opportunity ’cause you gotta be insane to turn down for singing the world’s biggest rock band.

Keep in mind that being in a band is not easy. There’s gonna be a lot of setbacks. There’s gonna be a lot of ups and downs. All bands go through it, even Ac/Dc. Not everything is gonna be perfect all the time. It’s just the way it is. I know some people say that Ac/Dc should hang it up but it isn’t happening. They’re an institution, they gotta keep it going.

I’m a huge Ac/Dc fan and I just streamed all of their records through Apple Music streaming last week. I love both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras.

No matter what people say, I support Ac/Dc’s decision to continue on without the band’s iconic members. Like I said, the shows gotta go on… always.

Lita Ford just became one of my favorite guitarists and singer/songwriters, love her music!

From Itunes, I just downloaded and bought two of her solo albums. Just picked up her 1988 album, “Lita” and her brand new album that she just put out called, “Time Capsule”. I think Lita Ford is fucking awesome. She’s a woman who has the full package and she can do it all musically. She has a great singing voice, hot looks and her guitar playing is awesome too.

I already listened to some of her albums through Apple Music streaming but I want to get my own copy of her albums. Her music is really good stuff.

I just became addicted to Lita’s music all of a sudden. I loved all the stuff she did in the 80’s and the 90’s. I think I got interested in her music ’cause of the Runaways pretty much.

I also finished reading her new book, “Living Like a Runaway” which is good stuff also. Lita Ford is fuckin’ awesome.

Lita Ford maybe 57 now but she’s still pretty hot looking for her age, though. I just dig women that rock and you don’t see much of that these days.

Is Brian Johnson’s singing career in Ac/Dc just about over?

Brian Johnson of Ac/Dc just wrote an open letter to Ac/Dc fans through Guitar World’s website. Is Brian Johnson’s singing career just about over? Not entirely. He says he’s not retiring yet. Brian says he’s okay to sing in the studio but he won’t be able perform live on the stage for a while. Brian also admits that he may never be able to perform on stage at all depending on his hearing on whether or not it improves.

http://www.guitarworld.com/artist-news/brian-johnson-issues-statement-his-departure-acdc/29001

Sucks for Brian but I have a feeling that his singing career may be over for good but we’ll see, though.

I know how some people are upset that Ac/Dc continues on with Axl Rose but it’s only temporary. Axl is not in the band full time. Like they all say, the show’s gotta go on right? A lot of people want to be upset at Axl taking over lead vocals in Ac/Dc but I want to defend that a little bit.

I think Axl Rose is a good choice to sing for Ac/Dc. Axl is almost like a crossover of Bon Scott & Brian a little bit. If you listen to Guns N’ Roses cover Ac/DC in youtube, you would see that Axl is the perfect fit. I think Axl sings well for Ac/Dc, in my opinion so I think he should pull it off fine. Like I said, it’s only temporary. Axl is not a full time member. I’m sure the guys in Ac/Dc auditioned for other singers but they found that Axl was the perfect fit. Axl’s voice fits Ac/Dc, that’s just my opinion.

If Brian is forced to retire ’cause of his hearing loss, I think Axl would be a perfect replacement as a full time singer for Ac/Dc and I mean that too. Axl sounds great singing Ac/Dc, in my opinion.

Ac/Dc has always been one of my favorite rock bands and they still are. I love both Bon Scott and Brian.

Steve Miller tells the truth about the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Black Keys get upset… what about Freedom of Speech?

Steve Miller took part of a backstage interview at the Rock and Roll of Fame show and Steve gave his honest opinion which he had the right to. I listened to what he had to say about the Hall of Fame and I’ll admit that I agree with him. After thinking about it a while, the Hall of Fame is pretty much a joke, I’ll admit it. That’s what Steve Miller said and Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys regrets inducting Steve Miller into the Hall of Fame ’cause Dan said Steve’s comments was “negative” and “hurtful” to the industry.

After reading this article, it looks to me that Rollingstone is siding with the Black Keys on this issue ’cause why? Jann Wenner is the founder/CEO of Rollingstone and he also put the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame together. Wenner has a huge hardon for the Black Keys, always did so no surprise there.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/features/black-keys-we-regret-inducting-steve-miller-after-rock-hall-insults-20160413?page=2

I think to me since that the Black Keys wants nothing to do with Steve Miller all of a sudden… they sound like they’re jealous of Steve’s success and legacy. Nothing more, nothing less. I mean… look how many hit songs that Steve Miller has got? Steve Miller has written tons of hit songs that still get played on FM radio… songs that we know and love like: “The Joker”, “Take Your Money and Run”, “Jungle Love”, “Fly Like An Eagle”, “Jet Airliner”, “Abracadabra”, etc.

How many hit songs do you hear of the Black Keys on the radio??? “Lonely Boy” maybe? That’s about it? The Black Keys are an overrated band anyways. I lost interest in them a long time ago.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech these days? It seems like each time someone wants to make an honest opinion, they’re automatically looked at as an asshole. That’s what Gene Simmons is going through as well.

It sounds like Steve Miller is regretting getting inducted. Fuck the Hall of Fame ’cause they snubbed the band YES again so I think I’m done with them.

On top of that, the Black Keys are fucking hypocrites accusing Steve of being hurtful and “negative” to the industry when Patrick Carney says hurtful things to Justin Bieber and his fans. So take that Dan, douchebag.

Happy birthday, Eric Clapton…

It’s kind of funny ya know… thanks to Apple Music streaming, it gave me the opportunity to listen to ALL of Cream’s music and ALL of Eric Clapton’s solo albums in his entire discography. I haven’t listened to the Derek and the Dominos album yet but I will get around to it. I love Eric Clapton. He’s been my favorite guitarist for years. He’s one of the reasons I play guitar and why I do what I do. While I do love Clapton’s solo career, I loved his solo albums in the 70’s and the 80’s better but the stuff he did in the 90’s and up weren’t that good. Although, the only new Eric Clapton album I liked a lot was “The Breeze” that tribute album he did for JJ Cale was the best new album he did. Anyway, I’m a huge fan of Clapton. I was also a huge fan of his stuff in the Yardbirds too even though his career in the Yardbirds was pretty short.

I’m glad he’s still playing music and doing his thing. He’s got a new album coming out this year which I’m looking forward to. Even though I like Clapton’s older stuff more, he will always be a genius.

Happy birthday, Eric!

Why Axl Rose fronting Ac/Dc would be a good idea…

So Brian Johnson is leaving Ac/Dc temporarily to save his hearing. Then word got out that Axl Rose is taking over as frontman/singer to finish off the rest of the Ac/Dc tour ’cause after all, the show needs to go on right? At first, I kept thinking that Axl Rose singing for Ac/Dc is just a phony rumor that got out and then a photo leaked to the internet of Axl leaving the band’s studio. It might turn out true after all.

http://news.iheart.com/articles/rock-news-104703/photos-show-axl-rose-at-same-14540194/

Some people are not liking the idea of Axl singing for Ac/Dc but I think it’s a good idea. Why? Guns N’ Roses covered a lot of Ac/Dc at their shows over the years and Axl actually sounds pretty good singing Ac/Dc songs. Listen to him below. I think Axl is the best guy to sing for Ac/Dc. I mean, Axl sounds like a modern day version of Bon Scott pretty much. Pretty close to it,I would say.

I take it that Ac/Dc is one of Axl’s favorite bands and Ac/Dc is one of Axl’s biggest influences. I can’t blame Axl for accepting the opportunity to sing for Ac/Dc ’cause it’s probably a dream come true for him so I congratulate Axl.

The news of Axl singing for Ac/Dc hasn’t been publicly confirmed yet but I’m sure it will be soon.
