AC/DC previews their new song, “Play Ball”…

Ac/Dc have just released a little preview of their new song, “Play Ball”, which will be a song off their new upcoming album titled, “Rock or Bust”. TBS exclusively released the new song as it will be the opening intro for the MLB baseball post-season games.

Knowing Ac/Dc pretty well, I’m 100% positive that this song, “Play Ball” isn’t about baseball, LOL!

One of the things that Ac/Dc is great at is writing songs about sex — they wrote a lot of songs about sex and dirty things but still Brian Johnson was able to make the lyrics positive and family friendly. Ac/Dc wrote a lot of songs about sex and women like “You Shook Me All Night Long” for starters and “Big Balls” is another one, I think. Also, “Dirty Deeds” and “The Jack” are a few more sexual songs. They are good at writing dirty songs even if you didn’t know it. That’s one of the reasons why I respected Ac/Dc so much over the years.

As you can hear in this track, they don’t sound any different even without Malcolm on guitar as I predicted it. Their style is still the same which is good.

Pink Floyd posts 30 second teaser of “Endless River”…

Just listened to the 30 second clip of a track from “Endless River” album. This is a pretty long album. It’s gonna cost $20.00 on Itunes but I’m still gonna get it. While, I’m getting that album, I’ll get “The Division Bell” along with it.

Even though this a short clip of “Endless River”, I’m still blown away. It’s already sounding beautiful and I figured it’s gonna have Gilmour’s sick playing.

Even though the album won’t have much vocals, the album is still gonna be amazing. I just love instrumental music.

Enjoy.

Ac/Dc will release “Rock Or Bust” on Dec. 2nd, first new album without Malcolm Young…

Ac/Dc revealed the title of their next album which is gonna be called, “Rock Or Bust” and will be released on Dec. 2nd of this year. After a 41 year long career of Ac/Dc, this will be the first studio album by Ac/Dc without Malcolm Young.

While it’s good news that Ac/Dc is finally releasing a new album this year, it’s also very sad news that Malcolm will not be returning to the band due to his health.

I know there’s gonna be a lot of whiners and complainers that Ac/Dc is moving on without Malcolm on guitar. There’s gonna be a lot of complaints like, “it’s not Ac/Dc without Malcolm”. Well, I’m pretty sure fans felt the same when Ac/Dc continued on without Bon Scott as singer back in the day. Well guess what, Ac/Dc successfully got away with replacing a singer. I will think they will do the same with the guitarist.

I’m actually interested in hearing what Ac/Dc is gonna sound like with a new guitarist. They’ve had the same style and sound for years with Malcolm as guitarist. So with a new guitarist, I’m sure the band’s sound will be slightly different so it’s gonna be interesting to hear the difference.

Like I said in a post before, founding members of legendary bands leave all the time. It happens in the music business.

These bands continue on without their founding members ’cause that’s what they’re made to do. They have to keep going. They just can’t quit. Like they all say, the show’s got to go on and it’s true. These bands love what they do. They keep going ’cause music is in their blood.

I’m pretty sure Ac/Dc got Malcolm’s blessing to go on without him, anyways. Two rock giants coming out with new albums this year: Ac/Dc and Pink Floyd. I’ll be getting them both.

Happy 65th birthday, Bruce Springsteen!!!

I’m such a huge fan of the Boss. If you can’t appreciate Springsteen’s music, then you aren’t a true music lover! I may not like Bruce’s liberal politics and I don’t like how he’s a big time Obama supporter but I just love him for the music. It can’t be denied that he’s one of the best singer/songwriters and live performers out there.

At 65, Bruce is still doing it. He’s still rockin’ hard on stage. I’ve listened to Bruce’s music for years and still do. I’ve never seen him live in concert, though, never had the chance. I still listen to and buy Bruce’s music to this day.

I think his new album “High Hopes” that he just released in the beginning of 2014 was a killer album. I’m always listening to it.

Age is not stopping Bruce from rockin’ and that’s one reason why I still respect the hell out of him.

Happy birthday, Bruce. I’m sure he’s enjoying it with Patti and the kids.

More on Pink Floyd’s “Endless River”…

I still say it makes total sense to call, “Endless River” a Pink Floyd album. Why? For a few reasons. For starters, “Endless River” will be 20 years after “The Division Bell”. Most of the material on “Endless River” was written by Rick Wright… like I said before, the material on “Endless River” were unreleased recordings during the “Division Bell” sessions. These are reasons alone that the new album deserves to be called a Pink Floyd album.

Gilmour himself sort of explained why this album deserves to be called a Pink Floyd album, “The Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 ‘Division Bell’ sessions. We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album. Over the last year we’ve added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album. With Rick gone, and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire”

The music on “Endless River” were meant to be instrumentals. They weren’t really meant to have vocals although one song on “Endless River” with lyrics written by Gilmour’s wife has vocals on it but the vocals will be probably be sung by Gilmour himself.

Keep in mind that over the years, Waters wasn’t the only Pink Floyd lead singer. Syd Barrett started out as lead vocals for the band and I think Rick Wright himself sang some lead. Gilmour himself sung some Floyd songs as well. So it wasn’t always Roger on the vocals.

This new album was never intended for Roger to be involved in. It ain’t true Pink Floyd without Roger??? In my opinion, it has always been Pink Floyd no matter the members. As long as Gilmour, Mason and Wright are involved, that’s Pink Floyd no matter what you think of it. Waters isn’t involved with the “Endless River” recording ’cause he never recorded vocals during the “Division Bell” sessions… he left Floyd and moved on.

Rick Wright may not have been a legal member of Floyd during the “Division Bell” sessions but he will always be looked at as an important member no matter what you think of it.

This may have been a side project at first, music from The Big Spliff but later Gilmour clarified there’s only a little bit of The Big Spliff on “Endless River” so technically this is still NOT a side project.

Anyway, I’m sure Gilmour is gonna get interviewed by the music press about the album… he’s probably gonna get interviewed for Rollingstone/Guitarworld and he will talk about it more. I’m sure he’ll explain more on why he named this a Pink Floyd album.

Who cares if Waters isn’t involved. The guy is a freakin’ Iran lover and jew hater anyway so let him go. Just shut up and enjoy the album. I know I’m gonna!!! Can’t wait for it!

New Pink Floyd album set for Nov. 10th release date…

There’s a lot of angry Pink Floyd fans complaining that this album has no Roger Waters on the lead vocals. I think that’s more proof that people are very uneducated with music in this day and age. This album was intended to be mostly an instrumental album, I believe. They were just unreleased recordings that they did during the Division Bell sessions, just instrumentals that they did with the late Rick Wright on keyboards. This album was never intended to be new originals with Roger Waters on vocals. I think the band pretty much did this in honor of Rick Wright, more like a tribute for him. I’m sure they could put Roger Waters singing on the album but all that’s gonna do is overshadow Rick’s keyboard playing. This album was never meant to be a new album full of hits.

Fans complaining about no Roger Waters are fans who probably only listen to “Dark Side of the Moon” or “The Wall” only and not their other albums.

I’m definitely looking forward to “Endless River”! I’m pretty sure this will be a pretty sick album. This could be the album of the year. I’m a pretty big Pink Floyd fan myself. While I’m sure Rick Wright’s keyboard playing will be all over the album… I’m sure David Gilmour will put on some pretty sick guitar solos too. I love listening to Gilmour’s playing.

Check out an old school acoustic performance of Pearl Jam performing “Even Flow” on MTV Unplugged here…

I remember seeing this when it first aired on MTV.

*sigh*

I miss the old days in the 90’s when we DID have rock all over the mainstream. We don’t have that anymore. I love Pearl Jam. Always had. It’s amazing to me that this band is still together today… making albums and touring on a yearly basis. This is one of the few Seattle bands who have never broken up. They kept going.

I really do think Gene Simmons is right on the money when he says that rock is dead. Will we ever get a rock mainstream revival ever again? Yes, rock is still around but not as huge and mainstream as it was in the past.

I miss the rock 90’s.Those were the days when I got into all the grunge and alternative rock bands like Nirvana, Alice N’ Chains, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. I was in high school back in those days and I bought all their CD’s and obsessed with listening to all of them. I still love all those bands now, including Pearl Jam.

Eddie’s singing is usually criticized a lot but I think the guy has always been an amazing vocalist. He’s got the pipes for sure.

People who complain and whine about the U2 album…

Even if Apple just recently gave people the option to delete the new U2 album off of their Iphones, Ipads or Ipods or whatever… people are still complaining and bitching. After all this has been going on, I am starting to figure out why people are hating.

Here’s the deal…

People like free things. Don’t lie about it. Everybody loves free things. The reason everybody is hating on Apple and U2 is not because they gave out a free album. It’s not because of Apple or Itunes. People are only complaining and bitching because it all depends on the artist who is giving away the free album.

We all know that U2 has been one of the most hated bands for a long time now. In the past, U2 used to be one of the most respected bands in the world but after the album, “Achtung Baby”… that’s when U2 got a lot of hate when they decided to change their genre of music and go electronic for their albums, “Zooropa” and “POP”. Then Bono got himself into this Africa activism for starving children and all that stuff which is part of why they teamed up with Apple.

America loves free music but like I said it all depends on the artist who’s giving away free music on Itunes.

How much do you wanna bet that if artists like Taylor Swift, Adelle or John Mayer gave out a free album on Itunes… everybody wouldn’t mind it. People would have been all for it.

It’s all about the artist, not Apple.

How much do you wanna bet that those people who complained and whined about the new U2 album being forced on their gadgets didn’t even listen to the album? They just felt like hating. Haters are gonna hate.

Sharon Osbourne just recently called out Apple and U2 for this on twitter, she’s hating on them too. I personally think that the only reason Sharon is hating ’cause she’s mad that Apple didn’t ask Ozzy to be a part of it. If Apple asked Ozzy or Black Sabbath to give out a free album, I’m almost 100% positive Sharon WOULD be on board for it.

I’m pretty sure this won’t be the last time Apple is gonna do this. They’ll do this again with a different artist but who knows who???

The reason Apple did this ’cause Steve Jobs was good friends with Bono before he died and I’m sure this is what Steve would have wanted. I think they did it in Steve’s honor. I can see Apple giving away free albums by Bob Dylan next ’cause Steve was a huge fan of his.

Like I said above, everybody likes free music… don’t lie about it… some people just hated U2 being the first one to do it.

No matter what people think of this idea… I think it’s a good marketing strategy. It’s a good way to get artists out there. Apple will probably do this more. This will be an ongoing trend.

I mean, if people hate Apple so much then why did they get an Iphone or an Ipod??? There are other gadgets out there and other brands. That’s why people have agreed to use Androids and there are other Mp3 players too.

I used to hate Apple and at first, I never wanted anything to do with Apple products until now. Now I’m in love with Apple products and think there is nothing wrong with them.

There’s no reason for people to complain. They just complain ’cause that’s all they’re gonna do. Once again, haters are gonna hate. I think they’re just jealous that U2 got shoved in everyone’s faces like that.

Instead of complaining and whining… just listen to the album. I think it’s a great album and the boys are back musically!!! I’ve listened to it a couple of times already.
