Film Review: Godzilla (2014)

Starring: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen

Directed by: Gareth Edwards

I was gonna do my “Godzilla” review in a videoblog but I decided not to ’cause I don’t feel like going through all that work tonight. So I’ll just write the review here instead. I’ve just seen the new “Godzilla” today.

Plot/synopsis: The world’s most famous monster is pitted against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

This film so far is getting mixed reviews by critics and movie fans but I can’t understand why. I thought the film was pretty mind blowing. I FUCKING LOVED IT!!!!! Finally, we have a Godzilla movie that is perfect. It’s the true Godzilla movie that die-hard fans can drool over. I have been a huge Godzilla fan for years so I know this is the perfect Godzilla film. This film totally felt like the old Japanese films from the 50’s but this new film has a more modern feel to it. Godzilla have been in the film franchise for years. I remember the first Godzilla movie was made in 1954 which is the Japanese film and there have been over 20 more Japanese Godzilla films. There are now 4 American Godzilla films. I know about the 1985 film and I also know the 1994 version. The 94′ version wasn’t actually all that bad but back to the new film…

… this film was entertaining as hell all the way through. This is the kind of movie that will make you want to jump up and cheer and smile… kind of like when you’re watching “Star Wars” or something. Yes, you will see plenty of giant monsters fighting, building smashing, and city wrecking just like all the earlier Godzilla flicks. This is surprisingly a more realistic Godzilla flick too and Godzilla had some personality in this movie. Most CGI in popcorn movies are pretty much garbage but they did a great job with the CGI in this film. All of it almost seemed pretty real.

The script was good and the acting wasn’t bad either; of course, Bryan Cranston, the “Breaking Bad” star kills it like always.

The new “Godzilla” was very exciting. Now that this is a very successful movie… I can see this new “Godzilla” re-boot being made into a series of sequels with Godzilla fighting different monsters each film just like the early Japan movies. Will Mothra and Mechagodzilla be coming? It also wouldn’t surprise me if Hollywood is planning an American version of “King Kong vs. Godzilla” ’cause that have never been done here before.

The action in the new “Godzilla” was a thrill ride. I think I’m definitely gonna get this film on BluRay when it comes out for sure.

Go check out the new “Godzilla”, you won’t be disappointed.

Two thumbs up.

New “Godzilla” movie is looking impressive so far!

Most monster movies today are garbage but hopefully the new “Godzilla” movie is gonna be really good. It looks really good so far so hopefully it doesn’t dissapoint. Walter White in a “Godzilla” film? Yes please.

Check out this cool trailer. I think I’ll be there to see this one.

Breaking Bad – Series finale review *********Major Spoilers*********

Wow. Last night’s “Breaking Bad” was absolutely amazing and mind blowing! Perfect closing for the series! Not only last night’s episode was amazing, the whole show overall was amazing. Every episode. Every season. This show was perfect all the way through. In other words, none of it sucked!

I’m gonna talk about the story for a little bit in this post but I’ll put a spoiler warning, of course.

At the end of “Breaking Bad” last night… Walt ended up sacrificing his life against the people who pretty much ruined him. Uncle Jack and his gang, Lydia, and everybody else. I was partly right in my prediction that Walt was going to use the ricin capsule on somebody and I was partly right that Walt was going to get killed off somehow. I was wrong that Walt was going to use the ricin capsule on himself but instead he accidentally shot himself with his own machine gun that he built for that car to kill Uncle Jack and the rest of the guys.

Last night’s episode did a really good job showing that Walt really cared for Jesse and he sacrificed his own life to save Jesse’s. He went to rescue Jesse and to get revenge on the men who killed Hank.

All season long I kept guessing that the series was going to end with Walt either dying of cancer or getting caught by the police but it ended up being something else. It’s called, “Breaking Bad” for a reason right?

Anyway, I’m going to miss the show, and wish it could go on for at least two more seasons. Now I’ll have to start collecting the rest of the “Breaking Bad” series on DVD ’cause I only have Season Four on DVD. I’ll get the first three on DVD before Season 5 comes out.

Well, since Walt got killed off at the end of the show, I guess that officially rules out a big screen movie possibility. There’s no “Breaking Bad” without Walt, right?

While last night’s show was a little predictable — it was still amazing. Vince Gilligan did a great job with the show.

My prediction for the “Breaking Bad” series finale this Sunday ***Major Spoilers***

This Sunday is the final episode of “Breaking Bad” for the show’s final season on AMC. I would have to say that this show is one of the best show’s on TV ever. I do watch a few other TV shows like “Game of Thrones” and “Dexter” but those two shows have a lot of problems with the writing; at least, “Breaking Bad” stays perfect with the writing every episode and every season. “Breaking Bad” has the best writing of any show I’ve ever seen. Since the end is nearing us this Sunday, everyone on the internet are already making their predictions. Making a lot of speculation on what’s going to happen with Walt and Jesse.

So far, the most popular prediction is that Walter is going to kill Jesse with what?

Remember, the ricin capsule that Walter White hid in his bedroom in Season 2 or maybe 3, I forget which? Walter is saving the ricin capsule for something or someone. What is Walter planning to do with the ricin? Is he planning to kill Jesse Pinkman with it? Skyler? His whole family? Does Walter plan on getting revenge on the men who killed Hank and tried to steal his money? No. I don’t think Walter is planning to kill any of those people. Who do I think Walter is planning to kill? Scroll down a bit if you dare. It’s the most unpopular prediction that hasn’t been decided by a lot of people…. it’s something you’re not gonna wanna read….

Okay, that’s enough scrolling.

Who do I think Walt is planning on using the ricin capsule for?

Himself….

Yes, I said it.

It maybe tough to see Walt commit suicide but it’s a perfect closing for the series. All the clues are there from last week’s episode, “Granite State”.

Walt doesn’t get along with his family anymore. He continues to feud with Jesse Pinkman. Everything around him is falling apart so Walt lives at an abandoned home surrounded by a gate. Over the years in the show, he thought making meth to help raise money for his cancer treatment that good things would come out of it but he thought wrong. “Breaking Bad” is about all the bad things and karma that comes out when it comes to drugs.

Not a lot of people want to see Walt get killed off but it’s the only possible way to end the show. Walt probably didn’t want his family to see him die of cancer or live his life in prison so he figure killing himself would be the best idea since he has nothing else in his life.

Maybe I could be wrong. Who knows? Breaking Bad is always unpredictable so you may never know what happens but I’m sticking with my idea.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how Breaking Bad is gonna end this Sunday night. Hopefully, it will end good.

Brock briefly reviews “Breaking Bad – Season 4″…

So over the weekend, I finally finished the last of Breaking Bad, “Season 4” on DVD. I just had to buy it on DVD since Netflix wasn’t streaming the season yet. I wanted to catch up before “Season 5”, the final season that is. A few words to explain “Season 4”: It was the best season. It was the darkest season of them all. It got very violent too. In this one, it focused on the heated feud between Walt and Jesse. It was pretty much Walt vs. Jesse Pinkman throughout half of it ’cause they had a falling out. Even though they didn’t get along this season, Walt still cared for Jesse and worried for his safety. Why? Because Jesse agreed to team up with Gustavo (better known as Gus), the villain of the show. I don’t want to give too many spoilers, but I thought Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston both played their feud pretty well. Pretty good acting between the two of them. I also liked the guy that played Gustavo. Gustavo is a villain that you want to hate. I also really liked Skyler this season as well.

Glad I’m caught up with the show in time for “Season 5” on the 15th of this month. While “Season 4” was the best season, I’m sure “Season 5” will be even better. It’ll be interesting to see how Season 5, is going to end. Everyone knows, Walt and Jesse will continue to cook meth in “5”. They’ll find new people to work for since Gustavo won’t be around next season. Looking forward to “Season 5”.

Report: First half of “Breaking Bad – Season 5” will air on July 15th!!!

Man, I hope I am able to catch up with “Breaking Bad – Season 4”, before “Season 5” starts airing on TV. Love this show too fucking much! Other than the “Walking Dead”, “Dexter”, “Game of Thrones, and now you can add “Breaking Bad” to one of my favorite current shows on TV. I don’t like shows and movies about drugs too much, since I’m not a drug addict and want nothing to do with them. It’s just that I find the writing and acting of “Breaking Bad” pretty intriguing. The show got pretty addicting to me. I think it’s Bryan Cranston’s excellent acting with the show, is what did it to me. I’m sure “Season 4” will be out on DVD sometime before “Season 5” starts airing so I’ll catch up with the show then.

Since, “Season 5” is the final and last season ever, I wonder how the show will end? I’m sure everyone is wondering the same thing. Will Walter finally get caught for making meth and selling? Will the show end with him going to prison? Or, will he end up dying of cancer before he gets caught? Either way, I think the show is not going end with a happy ending for sure.

This is a pretty powerful show and I’m glad I got into it. I had too many people trying to talk me into watching it, that’s how it got me interested.

Thought: “Breaking Bad” is my new favorite show!!!

After all the few TV shows that I love to watch like “Friday Night Lights”, “24”, “The Walking Dead”, “Game of Thrones”, “Dexter”… you can now add “Breaking Bad” to the list!!! “Breaking Bad” is such an incredibly addicting show. I couldn’t stop watching ever since I started.

I’m just amazed on how realistic the show is. These things that happen in the show can happen to people in real life. The show just wants to help bring awareness to cancer. Not only that, it also wants to give you an example of how being a drug dealer can mess up your life terribly, so you won’t do it.

The writing of the show is just excellent. The cast is very well acted. Especially, Bryan Cranston who plays Walt, wow, what a phenomenal actor he is. The show is pretty unpredictable too. It can go into some pretty interesting twist and turns. The show can get pretty intense and dramatic as well. Some of the storylines can be become pretty shocking and some can be very sad. I won’t spoil things for you but I can give you a hint that if you think the characters on the show will end in a happy ending for them, think again.

While it’s a shame that the show will only be getting 5 seasons, I can definitely see this show being made into a big screen movie too. I think Skyler (Walt’s wife), is a great character too.

People in facebook been trying to talk me into start watching it. Now I’m finally able to get around to it. I just watched the first two seasons, and I’m just starting season 3 on Netflix. Netflix don’t have Season 4 yet ’cause it’s not on DVD yet but will be soon. I want to catch up with all 4 seasons before Season 5 later this year.

After I finish watching “Breaking Bad” on Netflix, I plan to start watching, “Sons of Anarchy”. “Breaking Bad” is one of the best shows ever and it’s probably my no. 1. I can understand why the show is so popular. It feels good to finally start watching the show.
