Critics are still hailing “Mad Max: Fury Road” as the best film of 2015… really???

I just re-watched “Mad Max: Fury Road” on BluRay for the second time to see if I can have a change of heart with the movie but unfortunately, my opinion still stands. “Mad Max: Fury Road” is not that great of a movie like everyone says it is. Some of the action scenes were fun but that’s all it is to me… an action movie. I think the main reason why I didn’t like it too much is ’cause of that lame storyline with the pregnant women in the movie. I also never cared for the villain, Immortan Joe which is a pretty dumb villain, in my opinion. Plus the film had a bit too much CGI and I still don’t like Tom Hardy as Mad Max. If Mel Gibson was still in it then the film would have definitely been more watchable. The script for “Fury Road” was horrible as well.

I wouldn’t say “Mad Max: Fury Road” is one of best films in 2015 ’cause it isn’t. I also wouldn’t be surprised that the film would win for Best Picture for the Oscars and it’s probably gonna end up winning Best Picture as well.

As for my choice for Best Film of the year in 2015??? Well, you’re gonna have to wait for my “Top 15 Best Movies” video for that which is coming soon!

Film Review: “Mad Max: Fury Road”

Starring: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron

Directed by: George Miller

So today, I went to the movies to check out the new Mad Max movie and here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: An apocalyptic story set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and almost everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order. There’s Max, a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And Furiosa, a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” was just okay but nothing all that great. I didn’t like Tom Hardy as Mad Max. I prefered Mel Gibson back in the role ’cause the film would have been so much better if Mel was in it. Tom as Max was kind of boring. He didn’t speak that many lines but when he did, he would talk in a deep growling voice. That’s not how Max was in the previous films with Mel.

Some people would accuse Mel Gibson of being too old for these kind of movies but no. In case you haven’t noticed, Mel Gibson is still playing in violent action movies so I’m sure he can handle it well.

The story didn’t have much of a plot and some of the villains were kind of silly. The action scenes were a blast to watch, though, don’t get me wrong. The action scenes were pretty much the only good thing about the film. The film is no “masterpiece” like many are saying, though. I did like Charlize Theron’s role in it too.

While the film got some controversy out of it… some accused the film of being too “feminist” but I didn’t think so.

I’m sure there will be better action movies coming out later this year like “Terminator: Genisys”, “Spectre”, “Mission Impossible V”, “Star Wars 7”, etc.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” was just okay. Could have been better. I’ll give it a 2 out of 5 as in “okay”.

Mel Gibson surprises Tom Hardy and fans by showing up at the “Mad Max: Fury Road” premiere!

While it’s sad that Mel Gibson is no longer involved in the “Mad Max” franchise, it’s great to see that Mel still gets their support and his blessing. Mel Gibson, the man himself makes a surprise appearance at the “Mad Max: Fury Road” premiere. George Miller the director admitted that the reason he didn’t have Mel star in the next installment ’cause he was worried that the cast and crew would hate Mel on set due to all of Mel’s past troubles. It seems that Mel wasn’t invited to the premiere, he just showed up to surprise them. Mel was all smiles and hugging everybody, looking real good. George and everybody else never expected Mel to be there so it was a surprise for sure. Mel showed up as a way to show them that he has no beef with anybody. He’s all cool with them!

I am planning to see the new “Mad Max” movie ’cause I’m a big fan of these movies.

George Miller finally explains why Mel Gibson wasn’t casted for “Mad Max: Fury Road”…

Before Mad Max 4 began production, fans of the Mad Max series begged George Miller to bring Mel Gibson back as the role of Max Rockatansky. This is what the fans wanted for a long time was for Mel to reprise this legendary role but now fans have to go through a disappointment now that they learned that Mel was replaced by Tom Hardy. George Miller who directed all of the Mad Max movies finally explains why. It wasn’t because of his 2006 arrest and anti-Semetic scandals. It’s just that George simply felt that Mel is too old.

Mel is too old, my ass!!! Come on George! Mel is STILL doing violent action movies and he seems to be doing fine doing all of his own stunts. I’m sure there is still a way to write Mel in Mad Max 4 somehow so it can make a little more sense to have an aging Max fighting off the bad guys.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to see “Mad Max: Fury Road” ’cause I can’t see a Mad Max movie without Mel ’cause I’m a huge fan of the original trilogy. Of course, “The Road Warrior” will always be the best Mad Max film. I think I’ll pass on the “Mad Max: Fury Road” ’cause they simply neglected Gibson.

Don’t get me wrong, “Fury Road” looks alright but I don’t really like Tom Hardy all that much.

I think Mel would have done fine if he still played the character. I just totally disagree with George on that one.

Cool Photo: Charlize Theron shows off her buzz cut hairdo, or could that be Sinead O’ Connor???

Yep, that’s Charlize Theron, showing off her buzz cut hairdo for the first time out in public. She’s still pretty hot! Although, she won’t keep that look forever. She’ll get the blond hair back when she’s done filming, “Mad Max: Fury Road”, which is what that look is for. I’m looking forward to seeing what her Mad Max costume is going to look like. She will star alongside, Tom Hardy, and the film will be directed by, George Miller. The film has already started shooting in Namimbia, Africa. Hopefully it’ll be good. I’m a big fan of the Mad Max movies, hopefully they can pull it off without Mel Gibson being a part of it. Hopefully, they make it a great action movie.

Report: Patrick Stewart to star in “Mad Max: Fury Road”???

Huge rumour hit the nets that Sir Patrick Stewart might be starring in “Mad Max: Fury Road” that stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. Somebody named, TrekGirl wrote to AICN telling them about it. It probably is true that Patrick maybe starring in a George Miller movie, but it might not be “Mad Max” either but it could be a different one.

Anyway, I’m happy to hear Patrick is finally making a comeback to Hollywood. With him possibly starring in “Mad Max 4” and him coming back as Prof. X for Bryan Singer’s “X-Men 4”, it’s looking good. Like  Patrick is missing being on the big screen and wants to make his Star Trek and X-Men fans happy.

BREAKING NEWS: Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy to star in “Mad Max: Fury Road”…

Charlize Theron has signed on to star in, “Mad Max: Fury Road”. UK actor, Tom Hardy who starred in “Black Hawk Down”, will star alongside Theron.

Does this mean a Mad Max movie without Mel Gibson?

The article never said anything about Mel Gibson being in it or not. So I think there is a possibility, that Mel Gibson may have quietly said “yes” to star in it and that they are waiting for the right time to announce Mel for the film. I think this article is a tease, that Mel could be in it.

I don’t know, Tom Hardy, is a very built and buffed guy. He also looks like a young Mel Gibson, unless, Tom Hardy plays Max’s son? A son that Max never knew he had?

Even though there is no confirmation of Mel Gibson returning, I am predicting he will say yes. Mel should be finished with Jodi Foster’s “The Beaver” by now, that’s another clue he could be returning.

Mel would be a fool if he turned this down. I think the film will tank without him.

Report: “Mad Max 4” to start production in summer of 2010…

George Miller announced that, “Mad Max 4” will begin filming in the summer of 2010. No casting has been made, but George says Sam Worthington will be the first in line if Mel Gibson turns it down. They are still interested in reprising Mel.

Mel has turned this down once before, but that was back when he claimed he was done with acting in leading roles and he was going to concentrate on directing more.

Now that Mel Gibson is starting to work on leading roles again, which his next movie is the action/thriller, “Edge of Darkness” and he will next star in Jodi Foster’s, “The Beaver”…who knows, maybe good ol’ Mel, will change his mind about “Mad Max 4” and might agree to star in it?

I seriously hope Mel won’t turn this down. I won’ t see another “Mad Max” movie if Mel doesn’t star in it, so I’m crossing my fingers that he will say yes in returning. There can’t be a Mad Max movie without him!
