Sly Stallone and Jackie Chan to finally team up in a film together but it won’t be an Expendables movie…

SlyStalloneJackieChan

Well this is pretty cool. Sly is finally teaming up with action star, Jackie Chan in an action thriller. While it’s disappointing that they won’t be starring in the next Expendables, it’s still cool they’re teaming up together. The movie they’re starring in together is gonna be something about a China-run oil refinery in Iraq and the oil-refinery is attacked. The characters that Stallone and Chan will play will try to stop the attackers from stealing oil.

Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone Team For Scott Waugh-Directed ‘Ex-Baghdad’

I’m sure there will be plenty of action in this movie. Lots of machine guns and fist-fighting, I’m sure. I’m sure Jackie Chan will do all of his usual karate stuff and his incredible stunts that he’s known for.

Glad that Stallone and Chan are finally teaming up, though. Long overdue!

“The Karate Kid” remake surprisingly didn’t suck, it was actually very good, I thought!

Last night, I watched, “The Karate Kid” remake that stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith (Will Smith’s son). When it was first announced, that Will Smith planned on putting together a “Karate Kid” remake that was going to star his son in the leading role, it created a lot of internet controversy. Lot of complaints that the film should not be touched from the original that starred, Ralph Macchio and Pat Morrita. I was one of those people complaining about the remake, admittedly. I thought it was the worst idea ever. When the film came out in theater, the film was surprisingly getting good reviews by critics and movie fans. So I thought to myself, “Maybe the film is not as bad as people thought it was?” I figure I would wait for DVD on it. Now that it’s out on DVD, I picked it up last night at Best Buy and watched it right away last night.

To my surprise, I thought it was a really really good movie. I wasn’t bored and it was thoroughly entertaining. The story is pretty much the same as the original Karate Kid, where a young kid and a single mother moves to a new home, the son gets bullied by other school kids, he learns Karate to defend himself. Except the only difference is, the movie is taken place in China and the leading roles are starred by black people. I thought the Chinese style version of this movie is what made it interesting. Jaden is actually a decent actor, he’s not bad as others made it out to be.

What I was most impressed with the movie was Jackie Chan’s acting. This movie proves that Jackie Chan does have the talent with acting. In most Jackie Chan movies, he’s all about action scenes and doing his own stunts. This movie showed a different side of Jackie Chan, that he is a very talented actor. I think he agreed to do this movie, ’cause he thought it was an opportunity to express his acting talent. To let people know that he’s not just an action guy, he want people to know that he can act. While this movie is not Oscar worthy, I would think Jackie’s performance is Oscar worthy enough for Best Supporting Actor, in my opinion, so hope he’ll get a nomination for this. Jackie plays, Mr. Han, a replacement of the Mr. Miyagi character from the original.

I wish Ralph Macchio, agreed to do a cameo in this movie ’cause he would have been perfect for a small role somewhere in this film. It seems that Will Smith is taking a hiatus from acting himself. Will Smith has been busy launching careers for his children. Jaden Smith as an actor and Willow Smith as a singer. They must love having Will Smith as their father. “Karate Kid” remake was actually really good. I liked it a lot. Still not better than the original. I will always love the original more, of course.

Not A Cool Video: I wouldn’t touch, “The Karate Kid” remake with a ten foot pole…

“The Karate Kid” remake that stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith has hit the internets, the trailer that is. Like I predicted, the film looks like a pile of shit. I love Jackie Chan. He’s one of my favorite action stars but sometimes he can pick some bad roles…. and this is one of them. Why, Jackie, Why? This movie looks horrible and I won’t be seeing it at all. Not even on DVD. Maybe I will wait to see it when it hits HBO on the small screen. Put Jaden in a bodybag, bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaha….

Report: First look at the “Kung Fu Kid” (aka “The Karate Kid” remake)

The Karate Kid remake which is retitled to the “Kung Fu” kid that stars Jackie Chan and Will Smith’s son has just begun filming, and on set pics has surfaced the web.

Man, I’ll never forget the days when Ralph Macchio spoke out on this movie and he totally trashed the film, not liking the idea of his film being remade.

I don’t like the idea of the Karate Kid being remade either and it was all Will Smith’s idea.

Report: Ralph Macchio speaks out his thoughts on Jackie Chan being Mr. Miyagi, and they aren’t too positive…

Ralph Macchio speaks out some more on the “Karate Kid” remake that stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. He expresses his opinion on Jackie Chan as the Mr. Miyagi character (originally played by the great Pat Morita).

MTV News reports:

Honestly though, I would rather see a 5th Karate Kid film instead of a remake of the first one. Ralph could play Daniel one more time and Ralph could direct the fifth installment himself since he is now a director. I’m sure Ralph can make a better Karate Kid movie than anyone else.

I hope the Karate Kid remake bombs.

Report: Ralph Macchio finally speaks out on the “Karate Kid” remake and he seems to not like the idea of it…

MTV News caught up with a full grown Ralph Macchio, the original Karate Kid, and Ralph speaks out on the new “Karate Kid” remake, which stars Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan.

Ralph says that he feels real good that the public is not wanting a “Karate Kid” remake, in other words, he likes how the public is saying the “Karate Kid” movie can’t be copied. So that’s a pretty good sign right there, that Ralphy doesn’t sound too excited about the remake either. Don’t expect him to have a small role in the film now ’cause I don’t see it happening.

It’s good to see a new interview with Ralphy after all these years, he still looks the same even though he’s in his 40’s now and his looks and speaking voice hasn’t changed a bit!!!

Kudos for Ralphy for his honesty about the remake!!!

Confirmed: Jackie Chan in for “The Karate Kid” remake, set to portray Mr. Miyagi…

Martial arts master and action movie star, Jackie Chan, is in final negotiations to star in “The Karate Kid” remake being developed by Columbia Pictures. Chan will be portraying the legendary role of Mr. Miyagi, Daniel Larusso’s trainer. Jaden Smith, who is Will Smith’s real life son will be playing Larusso.

The plot/synopsis to the “Karate Kid” remake will be similar to the original film, where a young boy moves to a new town, goes to a new school, gets bullied by bigger kids in school, the boy decides to learn karate to defend himself. I’m sure Jaden and Jackie will not have the Daniel and Mr. Miyagi names in the film, I’m sure the character names in the remake will be different. The film is being directed by Harald Zwart.

As long as Jackie Chan is going to be in this, I’ll see this in theater. I love Jackie Chan movies.

Hopefully there’ll be a Ralph Macchio cameo in this film as well!
